'The One Man the Elves Feared', now that's a helluva title to have, I wonder how the future will remember him? The confusingly named 'Henry the Feared'? 'Henry the Great'?
That is this story in a nut shell.
He was planning on doing that anyway, well before he summoned her.She got JoJo out on his World Tour, safer then being in the Capital plotting.
Besides, that likely is what all he ever wanted to do. See the world and party at historic places.
The posters above answer who Beatrice is.
Just goes to show, no matter how important you were or how much your revolutionized the country and changed the world, kids a hundred years from now will groan from having to learn about you in school."Professor...why are we reading about a porn writer?" someone asked with a whiny tone, only to be on the receiving end of a blunt piece of chalk.
"You be quiet," the professor replied with a huff, "You are reading about one of the, if not the most important historical figure in the history of Gallia," Professor La Valliere placed a hand on her hip and clicked her tongue against her teeth. "Also, my great-great-great-great ancestor! So rest assured, he will be on the test."
The collective groans echoed in the classroom, but soon quieted down as the professor kept explaining.
He has, I think. It has even been mentioned in this threadWe can only be grateful for Shade. If he wrote a book for sale I would buy it no matter what it is, because I'm already a big fan.
Loved the story! Wish I'd gotten to read about the soldiers and elves pov during the invasion. Also! You can make a set of images in the style of early Greyjoy a la breve about his inventions with Colbert! Hopefully that will spark the muse for your next project. Thanks for at least giving us a good stopping point with a sense of closure even if the muse left. Too many great works of fanfic get left dead without even that much.Epilogue
"They say history books are written by the winner. Looking back, the history of Halkeginia could have been the same old story repeated for countless centuries until the cataclysm unseen wiped the Brimiric countries, had it not been for a historical figure of great importance known as The Prince.
Of Tristanian origins, Prince Henry Philippe was born to the Duke and Duchess de la Valliere, as the eldest male son of a prominent noble family, he was set to marry the Princess of Gallia, Isabella. His renown in the fields of science are second only to his military achievements. The formation of a standing army, the first of its kind, and the advancement in the military sciences both wrought together to bring forth the first victory against the Elves. Notable for his conquest of the continent of Albion with the capture of a single city, his future passing of laws for the benefit of the people saw at the same time a centralization of power into the hands of the Queen.
His rule was fair and just, and through it, Gallia prospered. The first to introduce labor laws, to increase the safety of the roads and the first to set the basis for the invention of the national railway system, he is fairly renowned for the alterations brought to the social status by the elevation through military achievements over those of nobility of blood.
In later years, he was revealed to be the fabled Shadow of the Night, author of thousands of children tales and erotica."
Everyone in the classroom snorted at the same time. How did one go from being a writer of children tales to be a writer of erotica?

"His death happened of old age, having survived his wife by mere months. The throne was inherited by Pierre Joseph, Emperor of Gallia and Albion, and while a good king, his reign has nothing worthy of mention-"
"We have one hundred pages on that king Henry," Louise mumbled, slamming her head against her locker after the lessons were over. They stood outside in the hallways of the Royal Gallian Institute, the public school of the Kingdom of Gallia. "One hundred pages! Why couldn't he be like King Joseph the mad? He only had ten!"
"That's not how it works," Henry replied by her side. "History is-"
"I felt the nerd-dom from over here!" Anne yelled as she came to a grinding halt against the lockers in-between Henry and Louise, her skateboard falling uselessly by her side.
"King Henry invented the Skateboard too," Henry pointed out helpfully. "And the lightbulb, and electricity, and-"
"Is there something he didn't invent?" Louise asked in disbelief.
"Techno music?" Anne suggested as she scrambled back on her feet.
No reply was given.
No reply was needed.
The End.
AN:
Now, let's get the crux of the matter out.
I had no idea on how to end the Noblesse Oblige once it hit the elves. This was mostly because the novels aren't yet done, and using the Big Bad Dragon waking up would have been meaningless.
Also, just as the muse arrived, the muse left. And when it left, it left me all dried up and feeling sad that it had gone away -must have been the fever.
Like, I could have drudged on a few more dozen chapters, perhaps even more, but I didn't want to do that.
I wanted the story to end, and so I ended it.
So I thought long and hard about how I wanted it to end, and decided that after a show of conflict with the elves, I could wrap it all up and conclude it. The story's done. Omakes can, of course, be written, and I'll threadmark them.
But...that's it.
The muse is gone.
Will it come back?
Gods only know.
