NieR Automata

It would b nice if it came with an announcement of a NIER remake, or even a direct sequel to Automata.

I'm not holding my breath, though.

If there's ever a sequel it needs to take place like 10,000 years after Automata or go off of one of the joke endings as is tradition. :p

No, but seriously, one of the great things about Nier and Nier Automata is that they each feel complete on their own narratively. They already did the sequel, it's called route C/D. A direct follow up would probably feel hollow in comparison.

Nier 3 will be setafter ending Y, you play as one of the 80 million clone emils.

IN SPACE!

its actually a business simulator, your goal is profit, and coming up with ever catchier jingles, whilst selling random junk to aliens.

It'll take place in the past, due to time traveling from the future androids trying to protect humanity. *sage nod*

Thus causing themselves to be erased from history and resetting the timeline for the reboot.

...sad thing is I could see that as a legit reason.

The secret is that you have to beat the game on Hard Mode, no deaths, do only the sidequests necessary for the completion of the game, and get Ending E.

Once you get Ending E, you have to delete 50 player's data before giving up.

At that point, you get a special live action cutscene of Yoko Taro staring at you, judging you, as if implying, "Was all this really worth it? Really?"

Of course, he's still wearing his Emil mask, so you can't really see his judgmental face. You just see Emil's smiling visage. Watching you.

La la la la la la la la la la la la la la

You were the real Watchers all along!

I would say low.
Because Yoko Taro is a fucking troll.
Never forget. The Lunar Tears quest.

The real troll is that no one is gonna believe it, and this secret will remain unfound for like a decade.

And then it will turn out to have actually been really important, like "the next yoko taro game wont make goddamn sense without it" levels of important.

(On a NieR topic that hasn't been talked about) It's a little trick, but you can hold down the R3 button and use the directional keys to change the camera distance. However, using this might go through the topography and bug the camera. As a result of deliberation, they felt that it was very NieR-esque and left it in.
Lol, of course.

Probably 2020 before we get an announcement regarding the next Nier game beyond "it's happening".

So the game is on Steam sale and I just grabbed it.

And DAMN is it hard (KBM here, no controllers for me). I haven't played this kind of game before, the closest I've gotten in Panzer Dragoon Orta, one of my favorite games which is also very difficult (at least getting used to the style of combat and projectiles to dodge).

Hell, I just died in the TUTORIAL (2 giant chainsaws) and now gotta go through it again. BRING IT.

Also 2B is adorable and sounds like she needs a hug. And uh, pants? Or at least something to protect her legs and....underside? WHY IS THAT OUTFIT A THING

The androids have a complex relationship with emulating the culture of their human creators.

When things are super serial, they do have pants-shaped garments that appear to be nominally more protective, but in general they just don't need it.

Also, Yoko Taro said he just really likes butts.
