[X] Track down Nasira

I think we should relieve ourselves of our Intel before we report in, and inevitably, get buried under a mound of enlistment paperwork. Plus, assuming Nasira isn't a bitch, she might be nice enough to point us in the direction of who we need to report to.

[X] Find out where to report in to. Maybe you should take care of the administrative stuff first.
-[X] Also inform about the hostile when reporting in.

I mean couldn't we report in and ask about where Nasira is? Or they'd get someone else to do it? It feels like both votes basically serve the same purpose it's just a matter of when. So for now.

Valid point. I'm just thinking that the fact there's a trapped enemy that could potentially harm someone seems a tiny bit more pressing than following proper military decorum and reporting in.

But no matter what we do results in the baddie being reported, so the difference is probably only a five minute headstart.

Well.
I guess the robot is important, but by Vic's disposition, ( yeah, I'm calling her Vic now, you can't stop me ) not overly much.
Asking Nasira for help with the red tape, however. A good idea. Any bureaucratic task is easier to perform when you know people in the system who can tell you just what exactly you need to do, where to go, what to say in order not to backtrack for a few hours like you're doing a Michael Jackson impression.

Can we not put our superior in more trouble by filing an official report that says we run into a hostile force when she outright tried to deny it (whether successfully or not). She gave us the contact, perhaps it'd be better to go to her than to the official channels.

I wonder what 'buying time' referred to.

[x] Track down Nasira. Better let her know about the robot sooner rather than later.

Definitely support reporting it first. If getting reprimanded for overestimating the danger is the price to pay if this is a mistake, that's fine because we didn't underestimate it. Or something like that.

Everyone and their dog wearing Christmas hats. Too bad Jedi don't know what Christmas is...

Late vote sorry guys, well Vicky ( ) did say we should go to that woman Nasira, better follow her orders and report her about the hostile.

I want to have strong words with whatever failed evolutionary ancestor could have given modern humans the trait of hybernating through winter, but had to go and die before procreating and force me to deal with this BS weather.

Anyway. Gonna try to work on next update when I can, but the AC adaptor for my laptop has started flaking out and may need to be replaced soon. Until that happens I'm effectively restricted to mobile and the library computers, and I also have three almost-complete but nearly overdue essays to finish if I don't want my semester to abruptly crash and burn. (Though the flaming wreckage may provide some respite from the blizzard outside...) In short, it may be another couple of days until next update, depending on how things go.

5 Report In (Nuker, Arbitracom, Spectrum, Hawk, Icipall)
1 Listen In (Ghost)
8 Find Nasira (Dryskim, Raiseth, Military, Nevill, Naan, Veekie, Krekian, Terran)
Well, that turned around. :lol

(Got a replacement adaptor on the way, fortunately. In the meantime, I'm using the library computers, and just finished one of the three essays, so I figured I'd go ahead and take the chance to update.)

The Great Nasira Hunt
Opting to avoid the verbal fireworks show, (you've had quite enough of those today) you immediately turn and head out the door, and the others are right behind. Devora begins before you're even out the door - "Do you realize what kind of position this puts me in? For that matter, did it occur to you how dangerous that was? I know you like to live on the edge, but don't take everyon-"

Yeah... you're pretty confident you made the right choice.

Your first impression of the outside... is that it's pretty drab. All the buildings, including the one you just stepped out of, seem to be made of wood, supported a few feet off the ground by thick wooden columns. There's another long one across the beaten-down dirt road from you, and two more to the left and right. Looking up, you see... at first you think it's just a watchtower, but then you notice the brick column in the middle and the black smoke streaming from the top, and realize it's a watchtower built around a smokestack. Huh. Other than the smoke, though, the sky here is a refreshingly bright blue free of the surrounding grey haze, and you suddenly realize how low the sun is behind you - it's somehow already approaching evening.

"I'm going to go tell Nasira about the robot," you finally decide, stepping off the small porch and out into the road, before a sudden thought hits you. "I have no clue what she even looks like."

"I can help with that," Elaine says, joining you. "I've seen her come through town sometimes; I can point her out for you."

Yelena also joins you, reasoning she might be needed to back up your story. "I've heard she can be tough." Hatice, meanwhile, slouches off, and Lynx follows her after a moment, wishing you luck.

It takes a bit of wandering, but it quickly turns out Devora was right - it's not hard to get the lay of the land. The base is laid out sort of like a hand or paw, with a cluster of various buildings of indeterminate function surrounding the smokestack building on the west end, while five rows of what are obviously barracks stretch eastward, ending in small sheds. A fence wraps around the edges; in some spots the slope is pretty relaxed and it feels unnecessary, while over at the far end the dropoff is much steeper. You see a few people around; mostly girls around your age, but also a couple of grizzled-looking older men, one with an eyepatch, sitting outside the smokestack building.

And finally, after having looped back around to where you started, you spot a young woman exiting the building across from the elevators - "That's her," Elaine confirms in a whisper. Nasira is pretty tall even compared to Victoria, wearing garter-strapped thigh-high boots and a short pencil skirt that accentuate her legs and narrow hips. Up top, she's got a dark red vest over a long-sleeved and wide-collared button-up shirt, though you notice that some sort of scarf or shawl sticks out from under the vest to drape around her upper arms. A content smile plays across her lips, but her bright blue eyes are sharp and eagle-like - or rather, the one visible one, as her short black hair is carefully swept so as to drape over the other. Either way, you're pretty sure she's already spotted the three of you down the road, even if she gives no immediate indication of such.

How to approach?

Added Nasira and a crappy map to the character sheet.

Also sorry if this update seems a little weaker. At least it does to me, maybe it's not actually so bad to y'all. Idunno.

Yes, she's basically Azur Lane Ark Royal, because I'm an unoriginal hack like that.

The update is up.
That means it's time for the obligatory joke vote.
[Q] "Heya, Nasira! We got you some big ass robot to murder, no need to thank us!"
-[Q] "Well, if you insist, a kiss on the cheek is fine. Oh, and help with paperwork too, I guess."
--[Q] Get hit so hard you end up flying into the nearest wall.

As always, normal vote later.

Seems okay to me. Maybe it's because your on a school computer? Also, I'm kinda kicking myself for not asking earlier but: when your computer went, did it take everything on WoC with it or did you have back ups?

Given that AL's Ark is a bit like Nagamon, to judge from the fanart, does that mean we need (another) adult?

[X] Introduce yourself.
-[X] Inform her about the trapped murderbot the first chance you get.

[X] Introductions first. We're not military yet, so saluting isn't necessary. ( I hope )
-[X] Let everyone in your group at least tell their names before chiming in about robots that need murdering.
--[X] Chim in about that robot you've found that needs murdering.
-[X] Ask her where you need to go to sign up. Don't be too overbearing. She's Rank I Elite Mecha Magical Girl, and you're so green you could be mistaken for a plant. She has better things to do than us. Uh, helping us, I mean. If she provides directions, thank her.
-[X] Also, if you have a chance, ask her where medbay is. That wound doesn't look serious, but it has to be looked at and maybe disinfected at some point in the future. If we have a map, does it mean our heroine does, too?
-[?] Ask about Anastasia Svetlana? Your most favorite waifu? Or don't, if you believe that you are fated to meet soon anyway. ( well, you're stationed on the same military base, so... ) Yeah, no need to rush things.

So yeah, aside from the jokes, this is my vote. Feel free to nitpick.
