What about the toon ability to be basically invulnerable? Like Daffy duck getting his shot off by a gun and just putting it back on. Have they lost that protection in your world, or are some toons just not as tough as others?
The Latter.

The Toons that lean HEAVILY on Toon-Logic are basically unchanged (Freakazoid, Mickey Mouse Crew, Looney Tunes)
And then, based on Tone and Tune of the Media, the other Toon-Like character have less of a protection.
(For example: If the JoJo Crew gets an Anvil thrown at them, they WILL feel large amounts of pain. If the Muppets get hit by the same anvil, they will only feel small bits of pain. If Berserk Character get hit by the Anvil, it will be NEAR DEADLY PAIN!
Essentially, it depends on who the character is, and from what Media)

Italy Update:

Povero Fantozzi, sempre maltrattato, piccolo ometto idiota.

Fantozzi, for those of you who don't know, is the Italian equivalent of Classic-Era Homer Simpson. The Italian Everyman of the past, of the 60's/80's. A tragic/comedic loser, but an endearing one at that.

He doesn't do much in terms of Quest-building. He just exists in the background.

Fun Minecraft Fact:

There are some human skeletons there.
... No, I don't mean the square-minecrafty one. I'm talking real, Human-Real-World skeletons littering the world.

And no one knows how they got there. But they started appearing in February.

Ben and BEN aren't the only videogame-connected ghosts that are around.

A lot of other spirits - including, mainly, the Pokemon Ones - are also roaming the world once again. Since a lot of them had been taken from a point in time in which they "accepted their fate and moved on", the Council of Death doesn't collect them (unless they become an Active problem).

So yeah, all of the Poke-Ghosts? They are still around, still thriving. And most of the Ghost-Type Pokedex descriptions are Canon.

Importance Tiering New
I think that the Graves Family (The Coffin of Andy and Leyley) will end up in yhe "Adult-Ajimation" version of Hell. In the U.S.A. , which means Hazbinverse Hell [in the Adult Animation Hells Section, we also have the Futurama one, the Simpson one, and many other ones.]

Now, granted, we (players) have to worry about the Graves for a long while. And even WHEN they appear, they will be a relatively minor blip on the radar.

Which brings me to the actual point of this post: Media importance and Scale.

Things like the Odyssey, Journey to the West, Berserk and Samurai Jack are top-tier. Mainly because their plots and characters tend to be "once-in-a-lifetime adventures, the likes of which you've never seen before", and because they tend to have a big impact.

Below them would be medias like Pokemon, Death Note, the various Superhero-related medias (for the most part) and Steven Universe. While they have some pretty important stakes, they tends to range from : stop this Singular Killer - or Terrorist Group -, to: this Area of the World is in danger. Not the whole world tho.

Below them we would find FNAF, Undertale and "Andy and Leyley", with the latter-most game being insulated to a single city. This Tier is for the medias that are very insulated and whose effect you don't really feel in the world. Sometimes they get new coverage, sometimes you don't.

Finally, at the (at the moment) lowest Tier, we have stuff like "Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde", the German fairytales.... and a whole bunch of granular, hyper-insulated stories - like 80% of the Creepypastas included here. They tend to happen over a small period of time, and they tend to affect a really small group of people.

If anyone wants to try and categorize all of the Medias involved, feel free to attempt so.

I would try, but I'm already busy with life and stuff.

[in the Adult Animation Hells Section, we also have the Futurama one, the Simpson one, and many other ones.]
The Futurama hell is fun because it's a robot hell, which is interesting for all the robots who wonder if they have a soul.

Great news for the Detroit Become Human bots who want to claim equal rights to people. Terrible news for evil robots like Skynet and the Borg.

Speaking of which, I wonder what they'll think of the Epic musical along with other Greek characters and the pantheon.
The musical isn't here at the moment.

But by the time it appears, most of the involved characters would have already familiarized with other versions of themself, so they'd be more open-minded to another Modernization of the Story.

Imdeed.
And then they'll both have more existential crisis due to finding g out about being fictional.

Well hopefully they'll enjoy the songs, cause I can see the many Poseidons enjoying the Ruthlessness song and perhaps playing on anyone that angers them with a few changes.

Doki Doki Literature Club - Role in this Quest New
Doki Doki Literature Club [CW for:.... everything in DDLC]

The characters exist in the "Literature Club", DigitalWorld/CyberSpace.

Monika - and to an extent, Sayori - are the only ones (thus far) that know that there's something beyond the fourth wall.

Monika is the QUENN of the Literature Club, but she's just as weak to a MC playing the game as the rest of the girls: Someone plays DDLC, the girls have to play the part, only Monika (and, in rare instances, Sayori) know what is happening.

But.... all 3 Girls know what Monika did to them. They are at HER mercy.
They also can't really remember their life before the club. Yuri is still the mature one, now more Gloomy. Natsuki is still the child, now more insecure. Sayori.... has gotten worse, and she is extremely tired of these Loops.

They are stuck repeating their roles, most of the times they don't even remember those Loops. Yuri has tried to experiment with her sprites, to see just how far she can push the limitations. Natsuki is scared and confused about her own identity.

Sayori is Tired. She definetly hates Monika (because of what she incites every "Loop"), she hates her creator for making the game, she hates that these "Loops" delete anything "Permanent" she tries to do... she doesn't even see the remaining girls as "people" anymore, thus becoming (ironically enough) more like Monika.

And Monika....

She thinks that she is Hot, Big S##t. She thinks that, since she was the only "Real" Girl since the beginning, that she can do whatever she wants. And, to give her credit, her powers of "Delete_Files" are on the level of the PermaDeath Decoding Abilities.

But she's not Unbeatable. She is "Powerful", sure. But:
1) She is still affected by the game's rules: someone plays the game, she (monika) HAS to FALL in OBSESSION with the Player.
2)Even when she exits her game (because of course she can), she only has half-Decoding powers. Meaning, if she were to met one of the Matrix or Tron Goons, half of the times she would fail in Erasing them.

She can torture the Literature Club girls over and over and over again, but that's because they are (mostly) hard-coded to not be TOO sentient.

TLDR: DDLC is here. Monika is a Minor QUEEN in Cyberspace. Monika got even cockier and more sadistic - and while her (and the other girls's) plight makes them sympathethic, they still are an Horrible Being who Corrupted Themself with power when the opportunity arose.

[This is not a Rant against DDLC or the Characterization of the characters. The characters are now aware of the reality of their situation, and they want out.]

Whose playing the doki doki literature club? Like, are ordinary steam copies being replaced by the sentient versions, or is there a website online where people can download "the real" game?

I'm imagining there might be a company that proruces/sells these fictional games turned real. There are so many creepy pasta games out there, someone might be putting these in people's hands. Games like:

Catastrophe Crow/Crow 64
Inscription
Nanashi no Game
Romance Academy 7 (gravity falls)

Doki Doki Literature Club - Sentient Versions New
At the moment, there isn't ONE "Main Player" controlling DDLC. Usually, at least in the first half of 2020, there were still streamers and youtubers playing it. But they had no idea of knowing that DDLC was now... well, also sentient. Mainly because the Girls are Hard-Coded to follow "The Script" whenever someone plays the game, so they blend in pretty well: people don't think that they also are sentient, they get to glimpse past the fourth wall.

(As for how they exist across different copies of the game - remember, the game deletes itself once you complete it, be it with the "Normal" or "Good" Ending. Once a version of the game is deleted, the player can re-install it - but the "Sentient" Girls will be replaced by husks/duds. Versions of them who can't become sentient - EVER.
So, one day, Monika will have no way of contacting a Player. She will wonder what the heck is happening. And then, once she sees that people have either forgotten about her - or have been playing DDLC Plus -, she will realize...

...that she doesn't have any "Real" power.

Because remember, eventually people will just not play DDLC anymore. Not because of "Sentient Horror" stuff, but because the interest will wane.
In 2020, Interest in the game was already at an all-time medium-low. And if people play DDLC with Mods, that defeats the purpose of the game: thus, depriving Monika of her power over that person's version of the game.

Monika will feel replaced. Sure, she can "hop" between PCs, Steam Accounts and similar; but unless she can find a way to leak people's adress and bank-account details to someone who might give her "a real form", she is effectvely powerless.)

As for the other games, they are in the Yuri/Natsuki-like state: sentient only half of the times, and most times their memory is crap.

The enemies ARE here... but not spreading like the plague.

So what do some characters from past or fantasy settings think of the many different music in the modern world?
Most are confused, but learned to appreciate it.
Others, not so much.
Classic Musicists (Fictional versions of them, at least) have some weird familiarity with instrument and tools that they couldn't have known of in their time.... which is confusing and scaring them.

AM (I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream) is also here. Currently, they are orbiting Jupiter. Pray that they never turn their attention to Earth.
