Well, if it is a third as good as I expect, then it'll still be worth watching.

Then again, the last really good Digimon show I watched was Tamers and the following seasons did much to disappoint me, so I think it's best to dial down my Hype Thrusters to something more manageable.

Eh, I really liked Frontier, at least.
Even Adventure 02 had some good points spread out amongst all the goddamn mess.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Frontier and the dozen or so episodes of Savers I watched, but they never quite met my expectations. Which might have been colored by my sheer love for Tamers out of all other series, come to think of it.

I should probably give them another chance, I guess.

Say, is Xross Wars any good?

There's a lot of Tamers vibes in Tri, and even a few subtle nods, such as a notebook on Tai's desk having the title of Tamers' Biomerge BGM on the cover.

Xros Wars is decent. It's more balanced (in terms of highs and lows) than Frontier or Savers, but the highs of the season aren't as high as in other Digimon series.

The Xros Wars manga, on the other hand, is both Continuity Snarl and Continuity Porn. It's highs would be insane if animated, but what's awesome about those highs doesn't make sense unless your familiar with all the other Digimon series.

If you could stomach Lucemon and most Olympus mons become boss mook. Xros war manga is better just for being more faithful to the source material.
... yeah, no. Lucemon becoming a mook, even a Elite mook is just stupid. He was the goddamned ultimate villain just two seasons before that, dammit. He needed Goddamned Susanoomon to defeat him.

There better be some really fuckin' good reasons for him to not be a horrible world ending threat by himself.

He's a Monster of the Week in Xros Wars, but one that takes two episodes to deal with and triggers a new upgrade.

More absurd though is an instance in which a freaking Huanglongmon is a mook of a minor villain (one of the many generals of the main villain's army).

That's slightly less stupid than I was expecting, but the Huanglongmon thing is still pretty bullshit. He's supposed to be the Sovereign of the Center and stronger than the other four, who were Big Fucking Deals in Tamers.

God Damn It, Digimon! How can I keep loving you so much when you can't even keep your own fluff straight?!
What next, motherfucking Jesmon gets defeated by Adult level Digimons next season?

Xros Wars has a shit ton of upgrades though, and the strongest one is probably in the top 5 strongest Digimon ever, and definitely in the top 10 strongest. The opponent it's used against in the manga version is incredibly fitting and actually justifies needing something that OP.
It beats a ZeedMilleniummon

The most jarring thing though is that evolutionary levels don't exist in Xros Wars, although Warp Digivolving does appear late in the series (despite not being called called that).

Yeah, I think I'll check out the Manga version. Just the shenanigans the heroes must have to go through to end up fighting a ZeedMillenniummon should be interesting.

Edit: And by the way, a Merry Christmas to everyone here!

No INNOCENTverse Christmas Cake Lindy and Precia omake?
:V

If I were to make that it would be at The Shop And Bar were Precia mopes about Fate spending less time with her and Chrono tries to get his mother to shut up by getting her drunk enough to throw up for an hour.

"Hey Chrono~ Remember the time you-"

"Here's another drink mom."

But I'm not so you won't get that.

While you are no doubt busy 'writing' the next update, I have managed to find a pic of adult Yuuno in winter clothing.

Behold!

:V
That's the cutest little murder victim :V

And I guess Yuuno is holding the umbrella because he fears what Nanoha might do with something that has actual iron in it instead of just being made of wood. Not that it'd matter, seeing as her Ninja training means she can horribly maim people with the little lunchbox in her hand. :V:V
