Mauling Snarks (Worm) (Complete)

"I'll pop you a message if it looks like there's more to do than I've been told," Amy added. "Besides, I need new slippers."

"I have no idea what mom was doing that resulted in one of your slippers being destroyed," Vicky said, frowning slightly. "I mean, she did drop enough to replace them twice over into your account as an apology, but what in the world was she doing?"

"Whatever it was, she was embarrassed about it."

Taylor listened as the two discussed ideas, before coming to the realization that she probably didn't want to know.
now I want to know *pout*
I was actually thinking Contessa or Alexandria, as an extension of the 'Path to indirectly increasing PRT and Protectorate effectiveness with minimal or no downsides'. And that would tie into the book and watering the plant for her as a sort of payment/reward.
could be both

Just wanted to say that I am not a fan of Work, being too grim/dark for me, so I only know the basics if the web comic series. Work wikia does help, bit still probably missing some joke/points. Comments do help.

I do hink, hope, this story is wihin a (less grim) version of Canon, and not crack like Taylor Varga is (which is where i learned of this story).

Waiting for more.
Worm, not Work (though it's an interesting typo/weird autocorrect). And I think it doesn't count as a web comic (though I forgot what the actual term is - web novel?)

I agree that Worm is "too grim/dark"; I can also understand why Taylor Varga (or Mauling Snarks, for that matter) might be considered to be (slight) crack - not that I have any problem with it (it would take a lot more crack than that to make me dislike a fic).

. . . Doormaker thinks? I thought those two had brain damage of some kind.
Clairvoyant has something like brain damage, because she(?) he is literally seeing nearly every world at the same time and doesn't have much thinking power to devote to interaction with her his body. Its a similar issue to what Elle(Labyrinth) has to deal with.

I think Doormaker is normal, other than not sleeping, much like Miss Militia.

So... will Maul ever meet Glaistig Uaine and talk to all the "spirits" that accompany her because that would be amusing as hell
Edit: Yep just a "Completely Normal" bring your mother to work day with Dragon

Fair enough. I wonder what Doormaker thinks of all this? He's the one making the portals, after all.

Considering in this version of Worm he and Clairvoyant are also serving as the PRT's secure document delivery service, I would hope that part of Contessa's Path to Rainbow Rose Happiness included putting one in their room, just to extend the enjoyment and remind them why it's important to run her maintenance cycle every time it comes due.

I don't think Clairvoyant or Doormaker are able to enjoy anything visual; Clairvoyant sees every world at once besides Scion's and I think Doormaker's optic nerves were fubarred when he triggered?

Fair enough. It's quite sad that two of the most powerful capes alive are basically bedridden though.

I like PHO interludes in most stories. I dislike writing PHO interludes, even with Myrddin. I didn't get it to a point where I was happy with it as an interlude, despite otherwise being fine for canon, so omake it went.
Fair enough. Not like you didn't manage to use the bit about Void actually having a good idea without it anyway.

She was distracted by the trolling potential. Yes, she should have reported it. She's still a human teenager, regardless of what is bolted onto her brain.
I suppose the Path (assuming it was Contessa) probably told her that Taylor wouldn't report it if she left it there.

Clairvoyant's eyes were fubared by his trigger. Doormaker is fine in that regard, however he is nigh constantly receiving visions from Clairvoyant and if that is removed he falls unconscious and is bedridden.

Clairvoyant can also see Scion from what I recall, though not his "well" since that is dimensionally secured.

At least I think that's how it all went.

Iirc, Doormaker has been hooked up to Clairvoyant for so long he's in the same situation. Basically, little more than voice-activated computers with powers.
True, but considering that here the pair is getting considerably more of a workout with the PRT "secure document transfer" system, I could see the possibility that they have a bit more functionality than in canon. If that's the case, a little something to brighten their room might be appreciated.

And just because Clairvoyant can't see the roses doesn't mean they can't See them...
