Mauling Snarks (Worm) (Complete)

Well, that escalated quickly. As we all knew it would.

And it looks like the plan to use a gang war as a distraction failed hard due to the Bus truce causing ABB and E88 members to become friends with each other. The Fallen's item duplicator's location has just been exposed to the PRT in the worst way possible since Reknit has proof the tanks were coming from that specific location. They're probably about to lose their ability to hide equipment in flat containers being a secret too. Oh, and they've begun their tank assault, which will likely trigger a massive upgrading of the priority for tracking down and dismantling The Fallen by everyone.

Add to that the fact that Taylor has been issued and authorized to use if required some extremely dangerous munitions... Yeah, they dun goofed. The fallen should have just gone out to see a movie instead.

I'm assuming that the PRT and Protectorate are likely to roll up the Fallen after this. They may even declare it an S-Class situation. (which is actually worse than a Kill Order. With a Kill Order, it's saying "if you can, kill this person"- wheras with S-Class threats, they actively call people in to end the threat)

At which point the age of the tanks becomes very important to know. If Kaiser shows up, the fallen should hope they got modern tanks, with composite armor, not WW2-era designs with steel armor....

I doubt it would matter much, actually. Yeah Kaiser can't produce blades from the tanks if they're modern ones, but that won't stop Lung.
Actually, material doesn't matter. If it did, Kaiser would be a lot less dangerous. He can produce metal blades from any flat surface, similar to how his father, Allfather, could conjure metal blades in mid-air. So, if the tank is some tinkertech hyper-aerodynamic not-a-flat-plane-on-it tank, they are fine. Otherwise? Not so much.

Edit: The third generation of the power was Golem, who lost the limitation on Blades and on Metal, but has to have a sample of what he will project through.

Well to look on the bright side if Taka-chan has gotten powers from this, she'll likely get more of a chance to meet Vista... That COULD be something to make the sh*tstorm of the past day more than the worst day of her life in hindsight.

Although it would be funny if her snark gave a changer ability that is kappa like. and has eating cucumbers as one of its' requirements.
Humorous, but considering her father, I'm not sure this even qualifies as more than a good note to add to her Facebook daily status message... presuming that she's allowed her own account on that particular bit of internet mind-rot.
There's also New Wave, separate from the PRT/Protectorate because it's personal for them as well as the hero vs villain thing.
As has been mentioned in the comments earlier, there's the Nine, since, y'know, Taylor is Jacob's niece and Riley's friend.
Also, considering Contessa likes and wants to help Taylor (and by extension Amy, I guess) you could say Cauldron would want to get their licks in too.
Don't forget, Taylor's also got a favorable rating with the Troubleshooters... you know, the group that is the source of veneration for the Fallen? How bad can it get when your diety(ies) turn up on your doorstep to inform you that, "You dun F'ed up!"

3. The Yangban lost their brainwashing cape, causing them to collapse and partly collapse the CUI (in that it's fairly clear the government hasn't precisely collapsed, but in many ways it's a larger version of Brockton Bay in that the government survives because the groups of parahumans are concentrating on defeating the other ones first.
Say, what chapter was this? I haven't reread this in a long while, but I can't recall that the CUI was mentioned beyond the Behemoth attack that they didn't want help for?

How freaked will the fallen be when their Gods and their Herald smash them into so much dust, you mean? Probably very. Then again, Logic and Critical Thinking are kind of mutually exclusive to the idea of a Cult.

Don't recall the chapter, but it was a Contessa prank. She spiked their drinks with some kind of short term power nullification substance. Or something like that. In response, the parahumans freed from the brainwashing split into four factions and are in some kind of war for control of China.

wait! When did the Yangban collapse. I don't remember reading about that Do you know what chapter it happened in.

After getting a rainbow rose bush, Contessa started taking time to have fun. Part of that was pulling a prank on the Yangban. That prank however went horribly right due to factors she didn't account for. This lead to the parahumans that did the brainwashing and power sharing both dying, a massive revolt among the no longer brainwashed parahumans, and the entire system collapsing into civil war as different factions try to assert dominance. Meanwhile, former brainwashing victims have been escaping and seeking asylum. Since then Contessa has had to run her prank plans past Doctor Mother. It also resulted in Contessa being unable to sit for a while due to being spanked.

What makes you think that Kaiser can't produce blades from modern tanks as opposed to WWII tanks?
In canon he produced steel blades from asphalt and concrete so the material doesn't matter. I don't know if he can produce blades from a moving surface, but that will apply equally to modern and old tanks.

I can see it happen: tanks march forward their target, until PISSED OFF RAGE DRAGON arrive... armed with a claymore (the sword, not the mine) sized for him, courtesy of Kaiser.

Make it an oriental sword, with Kaiser armed with a Scottish claymore and wearing traditional highlander garb (overtop his armor, of course). One of the E88 foot soldiers plays a Japanese instrument while an ABB foot soldier plays the bagpipes.

You forgot Armsmaster wielding his gear while the PRT (or Assault) starts playing techno.

Darwin Awards are only awarded posthumously for removing oneself from the gene pool prior to procreation. Nominees are sent to a committee by name and manner of removal, (originally a news story, now usually a Youtube clip) and are voted on at the end of the or physical year.

Actually they are not always posthumously they are for people who voluntarily and permanently removed themselves from the gene pool.... Generally by diying in stupid ways...but there are still people like that Australian who put a live unrestrained lobster down his pants for $50....

I wonder... the general thinking has been about the Fallen trying to capture Taylor (or Amy) for reasons. What if they just want an audience? Or, on the other end of the scale, what if they're trying to provoke a reaction from the Endbringiners by threatening the Herald (or whatever they call her)

There's been a few sentances about seeing if being a "Herald" bred true. That tells me all I need to know.

And considering the Troubleshooters like Taylor and get annoyed when others do bad things to her (although they haven't had to step in overtly yet), yeah.... that's a bad idea. Then there's the fact that they can't Master Taylor or Amy. Which means they would have to rely on force. Uhm, this is the Queen of Escalation and the Mistress of All Biology. That is a horribly bad idea. You would have to keep both of them in a 100% sterile environment. And block their ability to contact others. Even that would probably not work though since their bluetooth capability isn't public knowledge. Nor is it known that Taylor can call upon a couple of pranksters located in another dimension to aid in their escape.

Even if The Fallen manage to capture Taylor (and maybe Amy) and manage to keep them captive, there's another problem. They've now got pretty much everybody, their brother, their sister, their cousin, and the rest of their extended families coming down on The Fallen like a ton of bricks. Then the Endbringers step in to express their opinion on matters. The group has just made a critical blunder, and they don't realize it.
