Mauling Snarks (Worm) (Complete)

sorry. not too familiar with how the Darwin awards work.

Darwin Awards are only awarded posthumously for removing oneself from the gene pool prior to procreation. Nominees are sent to a committee by name and manner of removal, (originally a news story, now usually a Youtube clip) and are voted on at the end of the or physical year.

My understanding is that the only requirement for a Darwin Award is to remove your ability to participate in the gene pool; you don't have to die to get one, it's simply the most common method to receive said award.

To be fair, there are VERY few living Darwin Award Winners.
It takes a special kind of Nominee to manage that and live through the ordeal.

Lets see though, who has been pissed off by this.
There's also New Wave, separate from the PRT/Protectorate because it's personal for them as well as the hero vs villain thing.
As has been mentioned in the comments earlier, there's the Nine, since, y'know, Taylor is Jacob's niece and Riley's friend.
Also, considering Contessa likes and wants to help Taylor (and by extension Amy, I guess) you could say Cauldron would want to get their licks in too.

Hands up, anyone who expected this spoiler box to contain simply the word "tanks".

-Morgan.

Personally, I don't understand the need for a spoiler box at all, considering it's just a string of numbers and letters. I mean, the author claims it's a tank, but I have no clue what they're referencing and neither does google, so the impression that the spoiler leaves me with is that the tanks don't actually exist. Which we already know to be true, as they only last for a few hours before fading away into non-existence.

Well, I think that these tanks are purely fictitious - perhaps they were a Tinker project commissioned by the Fallen, perhaps they were stolen, perhaps they were auctioned off by one unscrupulous organization or another. Either way, this means that we shouldn't expect them to be limited by the same sorts of things normal tanks are limited by.

That number just tells us that they were made in the last 30 years, which means that they are likely near modern tanks.
Most likely, they'll be roughly on the same level of advancement, or better, than tanks like the M1A1 Abrams, Merkava, Challenger 1, etc., or potentially quite a bit better depending on what sort of Tinker made the original tank.

Well to look on the bright side if Taka-chan has gotten powers from this, she'll likely get more of a chance to meet Vista... That COULD be something to make the sh*tstorm of the past day more than the worst day of her life in hindsight.

Although it would be funny if her snark gave a changer ability that is kappa like. and has eating cucumbers as one of its' requirements.

Odds are, she triggers as a master with a Gamera projection...becauae the friend to all children is displeased with the fallen and wants a word with them. A early film of his could be in the selection of japanese movies they're watching, however much kaiju might be distasteful due to endbringers.

Yeah, their final wish isn't going to come true. They attacked on a PANACEA WEEKEND, which will piss off the entire eastern seaboard, if not more. They attacked LUNG'S DAUGHTER, which will qualify them to be crunchy snacks with ketchup for Lung. They are going to be attacking DRAGON'S MOTHER, which will get multiple power-enhanced tinkertech AIs on their case. And they attacked JACK SLASH'S NIECE, which is stupid in the extreme, unless you enjoy being cut up, partially eaten, and burned, before being experimented on by a "mad" biotinker (all the while feeling pleasure from it, and without access to your powers).
I wouldn't worry about them too much. The Fallen will be fine.

This is the story where Trickster re-enacted Taylor's Trigger event, pissed off Eilodon, and then bragged to the PRT about it and nothing happened. (That lack of consequence actually happened offscreen, for extra nothingburger)

Note that I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with MS, it's one of my favs. But try and remember that nothing bad ever happens to anyone but Taylor.

Only because he was operating under the influence of Ziz. Otherwise, it's likely his individual molecules would be taking separate vacations.....

They got off because they were Mastered. The Fallen's fate shall resemble the Butcher's.

...You do remember what happened to the Teeth?

Ummm... I think you might have rather epically misread a few things.
  1. Coil got caught because Taylor was getting Power Tested when he had a meeting with Director Piggot
  2. Skidmark got stabbed to death by Jack Slash and huis brain incorporated inot Taylor's spider-bot
  3. The Yangban lost their brainwashing cape, causing them to collapse and partly collapse the CUI (in that it's fairly clear the government hasn't precisely collapsed, but in many ways it's a larger version of Brockton Bay in that the government survives because the groups of parahumans are concentrating on defeating the other ones first.
  4. Quarrel was reduced to a catatonic state by Maul.

So yeah? Saying nothing bad happens to anyone except Taylor is very much not true. The Fallen have pissed off literally every villain group in BB plus the PRT and New wave in one stroke. In Ward, part of those groups largely wrecked the Fallen (in that they certainly wrecked where the Fallen had established their base but it's not clear if the Fallen were destroyed last I checked) They are going down

Quarrel's state is not directly because of Maul. Rather, it is because Quarrel became such a villain because she was convinced of the power of the Butcher, and its immortality. When Maul killed the Butcher (The Snark overheated and lost a lot of memory from it), Quarrel found that the pillar she had rebuilt her mentality around was not steal, as she had thought, but rather cleverly painted paper mache.

So... anyone else willing to bet that this is going to see Lung and Kaiser actually fighting together against a common outside threat? A whole "Bitch you come into our fucking town!?" thing?
