Mauling Snarks (Worm) (Complete)

Also fitting since there's already apparently a cape going by Sherlock. Whom Lisa feels isn't as smart as she is. But she's lazy enough to rely on her intuition only, and thus makes mistakes in her deductions due to that laziness. Which parallels the Mycroft Holmes from the books.

EDIT: Case in point, she spent a while looking for digital versions of forms she needed to fill out after Taylor convinced her snark to not mention that there are no digital version. This happened despite Lisa previously explaining to Brian that there's no digital version of the same forms.

With regards to the spiderbots I figure something like the ones from Stargate SG1 but more organic looking.

I mean, I could understand it if it was in the middle of the chapter...but it wasn't. It was right there near the end.

Taylor doesn't want a spiderbot in the first place. Why would she be looking to help Riley send one?
Sure, Taylor isn't particularly interested in getting a spider-bot.
But she and Amy recently had a fun time involving a Vista modified locket, the box-moving shard, Battery's underwear drawer and Battery. And I'm sure they would like to gossip about that with Riley.

Also, didn't Riley already ask how Taylor got her locket delivered directly into her bedroom?

The first Fugue there was no documentation, but it also was a complete surprise. And a minor miracle they didn't cannibalize her phone too.

Riley MIGHT decide that "Adults are ruining my fun! I want to send a spider-bot to my senpai!" (Or is it onee-chan?) Then set up the delivery while humming the "Mission Impossible" theme.

"Onee-chan", as Riley considers Taylor family [see why she did what she did to Hess].
Yeah, Taylor's Oneechan. Amy's senpai.

Come to think about it, do they have a range limit for that?
Since it's running through BA, probably 400 meters, like Taylor's snark-sense. Of course, after that, they can just switch to their internal Bluetooth group chat.

Not quite. Since BA is directly connected to both of them, there is theoretically no range limit, since it's not using external targeting. It's sort-of like how they can sense each other's biology without touching, since they're both connected to shaper.

Honestly at that point in reading it I was expecting the Box Snark to have preemptively helped and was waiting for Riley to mention that one of her bots had gone missing.

It would of course be sitting on the head board of Taylor's bed right behind her and just waiting for her to notice it before leaping for a hug.:V

"Taylor, when did you get the fuzzy white spider plushie?" Amy asked, feeling slightly disturbed.

"Don't look at it. Don't think about it. And for God's sake don't give it any voice commands or Bluetooth at it!" Taylor hissed back. "Now where did I leave that pen?"

Sounds of scurrying plushie feet receding.

"AGHHHH!" <crash> "TAYLOR!" Dad howled.

Sounds of returning plushie feet. Pen dropped by her hand on the bed. Plushie spiderbot bobbing several times like playing fetch, then slowly backing off to maintain vigil on her headboard.

Amy staring in mock horror.

"The only good thing is that it is based on a trapdoor spider so it will go into one of the expanded pockets in my backpack instead of following me everywhere." Taylor taps her pen. "The bad thing is that means at the least suggestion of something it can do it will pop out to halp. At . School ."

Plushie spider bot rubs its two front legs together in anticipation...
