Mauling Snarks (Worm) (Complete)

Does anyone else suspect that Think Tank will soon be extruding more metaphysical bricks? Possibly enough to extend/improve at least one wall, and maybe build a second one if it doesn't exist already?

"You wish to hit me with your wok?" Lung asked, looking at Taylor.
I've a feeling there was going to be some comment about her being racist (90% joke) that she narrowly avoided.

"It had not occurred to me to hold back on ramping up until I saw it mentioned as something I could do in Maul's notes, but it works quite well for sparring."
Holding back on his ramping is how he escaped the Yangban. Is this deliberate AU or did someone else rescue him?

I certainly did... That video may be from StarCraft 2,though, as it's missing some that are in the first game... "Are you trying to get invited to my next barbecue?" and "Could I interest you in some propane, or propane accessories?"
They're in there. I just had the clip queued up to the appropriate line. Go back to the start and listen to the entire thing.

Think they may have been banned from any further nonfunctional construction, under the basis that if a running gag gets you put in M/S confinement, you should probably knock it off?

I can't find any indication of how he escaped in canon, beyond "pretended to work with them until he could get away". Most of his "not ramping up" seems to have been "no conflict!" related. This is "conflict! but I'll stop at this level of ramping up" instead.

Do you know where in canon it says that he escaped by holding back his ramping up in combat?

On another note:

Why on earth did she use a rubber chicken on Lung? Did she expect him to be so surprised by it that he'd be an easier target or something?

You do realise she could have concealed one of the Bluetooth sound devices in the rubber chicken, so it squarked like a real one? Or, maybe she set it up so she could speak through it, maybe even make the beak move?

If you want to troll people, you've got to stay ahead of the curve! :)

Huh... didn't think of that. So she was just being a massive troll, as per usual.

I'd imagine the look on Lung's face (and all observers) when the rubber chicken was pulled out was priceless. Which might have been the intent.

Alternatively, this could be a set up in the event of a serious fight. Say, Hookwolf is rampaging around. Maul gets an opportunity to pull a leaping attack straight out of Hollywood -

With the rubber chicken... which is filled with lead shot.

But would Maul, even with Bonesaw and Panacea's enhancements, be able to tank the landing? Because if she uses the jump harness to slow herself down, that would lessen the force of her attack.
It would take a lot of practice, but she could work the timing to the point where she swings down to project the attack as the last instant before she needs to trigger the harness to safely decelerate for a safe landing. Come to think of it, she videos the practice, then after the first time she actually applies the attack in combat, posts the practice video to show that she doesn't just come up with attacks off the cuff all the time.

And if there are a few errors in the landings in there, hey, blooper reels are also popular, right? :D

The harness makes it so that gravity has less effect on her under certain circumstances. It doesn't slow her down if she's already traveling too fast towards the ground (though turning it off can slow her down if she's traveling too fast upwards...she just has to turn it back on before she's traveling too fast back down).

Sounds like she needs a self-repacking parachute. Even if it's just a reserve straight-drop drag chute. (But an maneuverable air-ram wing would be SO COOL!) Or even a single-use emergency survivable-landing chute.

Maybe something like Batman uses in the video games?
