Mauling Snarks (Worm) (Complete)

Both of those are true yes, but since this isn´t an omake that means that the government in MS canonically allows torture and extrem mutilation of prisoners, that our main characters would activley do that and that the gerneral public doesn´t seem to mind.
It's more that a Government allows it, in some cases may require it, but that's just the dark side of being a Government.
Also, it's not that the general public seems to mind, but that the General public's attention has been diverted in a direction much more appealing.

As for being Cannon? It's what our own government does in real life. Why, should a Fictional Government be any different? especially one in a dark Universe even if it is is trying to heal itself.

All in all, It's something you Joke about, and laugh lightly at. To do other wise would be to go Stark raving Mad, because you would never stop screaming.

So, Yes. Things should be better than that. However, to assume that they are may be fatal.

If you don't mind, I would like to see a citation in pm, where the government has allowed or used extreme mutilation. Torture can be argued, but I don't think you can prove the government has used or allowed mutilation as a policy.

Well, considering Jacob's S9 therapy group is sanctioned by the PRT, which is a government-backed organization, I'd say that there's an implied level of said activities, even if it's not a publically acknowledged option.

Get the feeling this fic is winding down, and we'll have the finale in at most a month or two.
If so, this will end up being one of 'the' longest completed Worm fics so far.
But not the longest current ficca - I think that goes to Taylor Varga (understandable - lizards love long tails :D )
Ward is slightly longer than T!V now, IIRC, and will probably be completed before MS is (even if MS is winding down at the moment).

Look up the effects of most WWI era poison gasses, Napalm, and Incendiary Weapons in general on the Human Body. Extreme Mutilation is what happens to those unlucky enough to live through exposure.

Now, the U.S. Government will not admit to using any of these things outside of an active combat operation. This does not change the fact that Napalm was used against nominally civilian targets in Vietnam, that allies of the U.S used Chlorine and Mustard Gas rather freely in WWI, and incendiary weapons are still available based on mission parameters to the military. As such, it can be said that the government has been and still is willing to engage in Extreme Mutilation under the right circumstances.

True, but that doesn´t change any of the multitude of diturbing things I´m seing here. It´s one thing to throw paperwork at someone, another to literally have paperwork to castrate and torture someone. As I said I´m certain I´m missing the detail that turns the entire thing into a joke instead of something out of a distopian novel.
I think Assault once commented publicly that Taylor was scary because of paperwork, even going so far as to fill out paperwork that would let her kick your ass. Probably a extreme follow up to that joke.

... did CW just allude to Anne Marie hebert-dallon eventually becoming cannon? I honestly can't tell. Because he all but said the two will get married and I made Anne Marie as a child of both after they get married who was 13 when she got powers. The two would have had Anne when they were 25 years old so they would be close to their forties when Anne becomes the superheroine Cyber. And mentored by her elder sister Dragon and her husband Colin. The family tree of this family must be a gordian knot by that point.

To overtly try to change the subject now that the fact that it was a joke was thoroughly exposed (really nice crowd around here by the way and it was turning political
It wasn't until they stepped off of the ferry and headed towards the crowd, cautiously, that they noticed that there was a gap in the crowd. One leaving a path through the crowd, glowing barriers keeping people from entering it. Or at least that was what they thought at first, until a kid and their parent crossed through it seemingly without noticing the gap. That struck them as odd. At the same time, there was a glowing sign at the end of the path with their names on it.
At first I thought it was another Alice in Wonderland reference because I read it too fast and thought it mentioned a golden path instead of glowing barriers. Silly me
At the same time, it was ten pages long. "
Taylor was impressed with herself, having converted five pages of the provided manual to eighty pages of English.

A decision was made, and the shard ware carefully moved.
The shard was carefully

I'm going to laugh if it has nothing to do with them marrying. The first time someone asks about the wedding and they BSOD a moment, "wait, what?"

Once again, Mauling Snarks' Taylor Hebert gets to use her somewhat underrated power of Super Documentation. This power is partially related to but distinct from her other underrated super power of Reading The F**king Manuel. Those two Powers combine to give her the significantly more dangerous power of Bureaucracy Kung Fu. Even before you get to her Shard-based powers, this version of Taylor is just a little bit terrifying.

Burned Cookie, I snickered at her "I haven't even reached my Final Form" comment. All the digimon/pokemon/game level up/etc flashbacks.

I mean, at least, I thought that was a distinct joke in there...but I hang out here and read not just the story but comments obviously, so my sanity and normalness are...questionable. :cool2:
I'm a little depressed that a self confessed forum troll missed that it is clearly a DBZ reference.

In other news, I hope they can wear other things over their new flesh colored flying suits or there is going to be a whole new meaning to streaking through the sky. Please, save us from the jokes a poor quality cell phone videos.

Heh, I figured it was a reference to RPGs in general, since the end boss tends to have multiple forms (each more dangerous then the last).

Oh, and regarding the gifts... Good thing Zion didn't decide to make them Bespoke. Considering the misunderstanding of what "hand made" means, I'd hate to see what it thinks a bespoke item would be.

I think it'd need half an arc (generous estimate) for Zion puzzling that out. Maybe ten chapters or so if he doesn't check on reports from Coordinator.

relevant:
Taylor was impressed with herself, having converted five pages of the provided manual to eighty pages of English. Whatever the manual was written in was incredibly information-dense without looking it, or it was tapping into things that her snark was filling in the details on automatically. She wasn't sure which, and her snark hadn't been able to tell her either way. Whatever the case, she was taking a break from that to look over the actual device for things that the manual didn't actually state outright.
She wasn't finished, just taking a break from the process.

How do you think Cauldron specifically and the PRT in general would react if they knew Zion had misinterpreted "hand made" to mean "no tools at all", and had created hands that could manipulate things at the atomic level for the construction of the flight suits?

*shrug* "Well it´s Scion"

They have been through a lot recently and are still going through a lot. The magic space whale not understanding certain phrases would propably not even register.
