Matter of Faith (BTVS / OC)

Ok a lot of people seem to have different thoughts on the Slayer Spirit and all the things that come with it, so in the hopes of speeding things up a thought i would ask @Lost Star a heap of questions that should clarify things a bit.

1) How long do we have to go before Faith would become the Slayer?
Its fine if you just say, more than a month, less than a month or something like that.
2) What sort of side effects does the Slayer Spirit have?
ie demonic corruption, an aura of demonic energy, long term effects on her mind/soul ect.
3) What will happen to the Slayer Spirit if we say yes?
ie will Kendra live or will another potential be called.
4) what will happen to Faiths Watcher when she is not called?
ie will she leave, stick around ect. (i want a watcher :))
5) Given that we seem to have the option of blessing Faith with the Thirteen, would there be any interconnections?
ie a 'The Light' favor Pool or Faith being able to grant Astral blessings from the general pool via quest rewards and vis versa.
6) What sort of effect will choosing either option have on the canon universe?
ie will we still meet some of the canon big bads or Main Characters.
7) Would you like to involve the Thirteen in this quest?
if its something you would like then most of us would be fine with it because we know that you would make things work out in a good way.

Anyway i hope some of the answers help everyone choose, i've already half convinced myself to vote for the blessing despite wanting Faith to be the Slayer.

Make things easy on me why don't you. :(

1) 2 months
2) Slight demonic tint and lot of predatory instincts. It's not malevolent, the slayers just sort of wired to find things to fight.
3) Another will be called
4) She'll stick around. She wasn't assigned because Faith was likely to be called. (She's about a year away from being ineligable)
5) She'd actually be fairly weaker than you at first. This just gives her a chance of getting the attention of other divinities.
6) Big effects. You'd still meet the cannon characters of course, but there are repercussions.
7) I'm fine with either.

Eh, basically. I think the choice boils down to what we, as players, want to do. No letting Faith decide and having the GM take the decision from our hand.

If we tell her, she'll take the power.
If we don't, she'll remain a slayer.

So what do we want from Faith.
Do we want her to be a support, or a warrior.
One of the thirteen, or a slayer.
Then if it up for me,stay away form Slayer, the world don't need Slayer quest much, they have spare that the strength of slayer system.

:( Sorry i thought i was helping... instead it seems i was 'Halping'

Ok i guess it could be fun to see where things end up if we use your OC gods

[X] Meet up with Jet, see if he'd like to go and meet someone else who knows plenty about the supernatural - interacting with Diana might be good for him.
-[X] While there, talk to Faith about the potential blessing the Light has let you know about.

That is not as bad as I would expect. If it's not malevolent then I think I would prefer the slayer so that we can stick closer to the Canon plot and know what's happening and because the slayer is much better at combat and with us helping we should be able to take down most baddies.

That's not really true.
I think Lost described both paths pretty simply actually.

If Faith goes Thirteen path, she gets a lot of support options like diplomacy, stewardship, etc. And while she Can fight. She's not designed to fight and our team will definitely be weaker combat wise than if she was a Slayer.

Slayer Faith on the other hand, is specifically designed to fight. And is the highest damage class there is. But Combat is all Slayerdom boosts.

So If we want Faith to get killy, and for us to support her. We should let Faith go Slayer.
If we want Faith to be more support like, similar to what she's doing now, while we do the heavy combat lifting. Then we choose the Thirteen.

Edit: Basically, it's the intro choice of whether we want Faith to be a Cleric/Priest, or a Paladin/Warrior.
IIRC, she gets buffing.
She could apply that to us, or others.
Nothing says Faith has to be the DPS, to use MMO terminology.

"I think I created a monster." You mutter to Faith as Jet waves his hands through the air in front of a very amused looking Diana.

"You're able to follow that?" She asks with curiosity as you both step away from the discussion in self protection.

"I lost them around theoretical temporal disturbances associated with supernatural electrical interactions." You admit, and even that's a bit of a mouthful.

The brunette looks blankly at you, and then at the discussion. Diana appears happy at least? All you could tell is that the two have gotten into some very obscure discussion that makes absolutely no sense for you.

"That that's actually a thing makes my head hurt." Faith finally admits and rubs at her forehead. "He's a total dork isn't he?"

"Jet's good people, but he'd be the first to admit he's a nerd." You shrug in admission. "Fun dude, but I can't do half the stuff he could normally."

A shout of triumph and you see Jet doing a small dance that makes you face palm and move even farther away. You brought him, and you don't even want to know him anymore. Diana's not even able to restrain her giggles at this point, and you can see Faith torn between horror and humor.

You cough to get her attention and continue. "Also, got an idea for a blessing too if you're interested. My patron sometimes gives flashes of things. It's offering it's protection in llieu of asking Artemis."

Faith's attention snaps to you and she bounced in place. "Does that mean I'd get the flash shit you do?"

"You could glow. It was likened to the moon's reflection." You sigh and continue. "I'm not certain you got the mindset really for it. You gotta be focused on doing the right thing. Being sure that it's happening."

The girl pauses and frowns. "So whenever you're doing that, you're certain you're doing the right thing?"

"I have to be. It's right and just to save people, and remove monsters. What little I've seen has not shaken that a moment." You're quite certain of that.

"Yeah, I can't do that. I can get it's a nice thing. I've seen it, but I'm the first to admit I'm a bundle of trouble." Faith sighs. "But I can trust you not to lead me wrong. That's sorta why we've stuck together right?"

"I'd like to think so." You admit, and take her hand. "This could draw attention though. So I want you to be certain."

The brunette rolls her eyes. "I live on attention Mr Hammer. Hit me with it, and we can go ahead and kick ass again. Or in this case, party. That's gonna be wicked."

You chuckle and let the light seep into the girl. Nothing visibly changes, but you can see her hand glow just a bit as she looks at it, and the girl looks inordinately pleased at the feeling. "All right, it's not really smite evil shit, but it's still kickass. We're gonna knock em dead."

You smile and nod at her.

All right, I'm going to do a timeskip to the party. You're going to be a bit busy motocycle practicing and keeping an eye on the club. Jet and Diana will be researching things, and Faith will be infiltrating. The plan is for you to become the 'victim' so to speak and purify yourself as needed.

You can choose to improve two skills instead!
[] Skill 1
[] Skill 2

Alright, improving 2 skills.
So, Blessing of Might should obviously be one... then I think I'll go with improving Summon Weapons to give us a ranged alternative.
It'd also be a free ranged attack together with blessing of might.

[X] Blessing of Might
[X] Summon Weapons

[X] Blessing of Might
[X] Cleanse

Doing a mission with success dependant on a single skill and then not training said skill to be better would be silly :V

[X] Cleanse
"10+) Can Purify as well, removing unnatural effects such as mental tampering or enthrallment. Will cause serious damage and kill to tainted things. Requires touch."
Because we should get it for the current mission to reduce the chance of the mission going sideways.

[X] Blessing of might
"12+) You may cast summon weapons and armor free and instantly along side this spell."
Suiting up instantly should greatly help us encase of future ambushes.
