Matter of Faith (BTVS / OC)

Gonna say it will push her towards the Thirteen. In particular the Herald of War. (She honestly absolutely adores slayers and other empowered female fighters)

Hmm, so lightning and hardlight weapons?
Which caste?
Heaven Knight: Mobility, quick strikes
White-touched: Social Based spells, Defensive spells
Hell Knight: Extreme Heavy Armor, Terror options
Black-Touched: Social Based skills (Darker than White style), Stealth Assassination.
Also, do heralds have the stat improvements like the Slayer does? Or is it just base human?

White-touched. And heralds don't give stat boosts. Slayer would give a BIG stat boost and nasty combat bonuses. Faith would actually be going more towards the grace and battle section. You see a bit more of an extreme version of that in the interlude.

Can we just ask Faith?
You can.

Edit:
He's talking about this.

We bless Faith with Light Powers through proximity.
Yeah but she won't be guaranteed to have the Light as her divine patron.

...OK yeah, I'm on board.

We should really mention it to Faith, though - I mean, I'd assume the Light would be willing to tell the Thirteen to at least give us time to ask her?
While she has noted she really, really wants supernatural powers, I think it only fair we make it her choice.

Hmm, so Faith would be a diplomacy build? If I'm reading Social Based Spells right. Either that or a barrier maiden with the defensive spells.

Hmm, not sure that would help much. Faith doesn't know that she has powers, or if she does, what Slayer power would give her. So she'll probably say yes, just because she wants powers to help her fight.

Thinking about it. Not really sure we want to replace slayerdom. Because Slayer stat boosts and weapons mastery synergies really well with paladin buffs and Holy item creation.

So talk to Jet about coming with us to meet Diana (we need to start on our own scooby gang!), and then bring up how the Light has offered to give a blessing to Faith (maybe have him come along to Diana's house as we go there and while they meet we tell Faith?).

Huh, would've thought she'd go Heaven Knight... but social magic would be really, really helpful for our cause, that's a specialty none of us really have right now.
Especially since Charisma gives a bonus in combat, and I imagine White-touched would help with that, especially from someone war-focused.

Asking Faith is a good option, plus it lets us warn her about the greek pantheon in general. Because frankly, getting involved with any one of those guys is asking for a curse by a jealous/pissed off god.

[X] Meet up with Jet, see if he'd like to go and meet someone else who knows plenty about the supernatural - interacting with Diana might be good for him.
-[X] While there, talk to Faith about the potential blessing the Light has let you know about.

... I kinda want to see some interaction between the Light and the Thirteen...

@Lost Star
Can we get some ideas of synergy between White-touched of the Herald of War and Paladins of the Light?

Really? I thought that was the entire reason we leveled Astral's charisma for. To be uber inspiration paladin.
We don't have any magic for it, though.
Which is where White-touched would come in.
And there's more to social interaction than just inspiration - investigation through talking to people, deception (would be good against vampires who we don't want to know about us), that sort of thing.

Ripples are good.

What about combat wise?

Like how Slayer!Faith get's access to Paladin holy weapons, buffs, and armor to turn into Holy Slayer Murder Machine.
Be decidedly less (Though still good). Whitetouched primary purpose is to support the front lines. Usually Heaven Knights, but Paladins slot into that role fairly well.

Essentially the battle philosophy is Heaven Knights Play hit and run. Hell Knights Mow forward, Whitetouched Identify targets and keep things together, and Blacktouched destroy the morale and backlines.

Aww, that's kind of sad.
Slayers slay. It's their sole purpose. They are at the top of the game in that. The reason they die so often is not because they are weak. It's because they get overused and snap like an un-maintained blade.

Basically, if a Slayer got a Whitetouched helping them, they'd become one of the most terrifying things on the planet.

So what Caste does Paladin fall into? I'd think they'd be more heavily armored Hell touched rather than the hit and run Heaven touched?

Roughly I think Heaven Knights are cavalry and Helltouched are more like heavy infantry. The greater mobility of Heaven Knights makes them better at hitting and running, even if they don't necessarily have lesser combat power.

Still, I don't mind a Whitetouched Faith, especially if we can get Buffy to pull her head out of her ass, as in that case we'll have a good adventuring party with a two tank/damage dealer hybrids and a support to back them up.

Sorry for bothering ya, Lost Star, but I don't think Faith's attack bonus should be 15, it should be higher than that.

I say take it. This'll give Faith a skill for herself, instead of one for us, and hopefully that Patron will also be the Light. I mean, she's got a friend who fights vampires using miracles from a religion who's only tenant is "don't do evil things, okay?". Even if she doesn't feel like dedicating herself to it, she's still pretty much bound to believe that it exists. The fact that paladin skills stack with each other and make two paladins exponentially more powerful than one has nothing to do with it. Nope.

Even if it's the Thirteen, it's still better than being a Slayer, for not-a-demon-or-evil-at-all purposes.
