Yeah, actually. I forgot about it until you brought it up, but I wonder why it didn't show her real name. I mean, it showed that Colbert was the Flame Snake.
Colbert still thinks of himself as the Flame Snake.

How does Tabitha think of herself? Which of her two lives have had the largest influence on who she is now, and who does she want to be?

Well, it doesn't show the actual name & profession of Old Osmond's secretary, just the one she's using at the moment. That "Secretary?" for her profession is a bit of an interface spoiler, but Louise hasn't twigged to the fact that the question mark means that something's hinky with her.

Also, I hope Karin takes her on a training trip at some point.

Only if Karin actually helps Louise with her self-esteem/need to prove herself issues. Otherwise I fear she would do more harm than good.

Tabitha just shook her head. No, La Vallière's eyes weren't the same as before and neither was the way Louise used them. Kirche hadn't noticed, but Tabitha had. Louise's eyes sometimes looked into something that wasn't there.

Well, Tabitha would notice that wouldn't she, what with her mother after all.

...you know is it just me or is it odd that her nameplate says Tabitha?

Louise didn't notice the question mark after Secretary, and I just looked through all the updates and the readers have not seen Tabitha's name plate yet.

As Louise didn't notice the question mark in the one example we have seen, there may be question marks after Tabitha's name that she may not mention because: Hallucination after all, of course Tabitha's name is Tabitha what else could it be?

mmmAammm
There is still this issue

I think the best solution would be having the max MP cost increase along with the effects, but she can choose to spend less MP for less effects. That would prevent spells from being unusable in most situations at a high level, and wouldn't run into the issue of extreme inefficiency.

Well, as shown the lvl 1 spells are weaker than they should be. So even if the spell cost increases along with the effectiveness there is probably a limit to how strong they can grow, since there are probably spells that are basically stronger versions. That way if she wanted to control how much magic to use she just has to choose the one that fits the situation best since it is doubtful that even a lvl 100 flame could match a proper fireball.

<Secretary?>
Lv33 Mathilda Longueville?
Everybody had one set over their heads. Nobles, commoners, Louise herself. It spelled out the letters 'LV' and a number, the person's name and sometimes their position on top. Monsieur de Smet had been a Magic Physician, his assistant, a commoner, was a Physician's Assistant.

And now Miss Longueville was, apparently… a secretary? Why was that even a question?

Louise didn't notice the question mark after Secretary,
No, she did.

@ Dark Ness

Ah, so she did. But I believe she has ignored the information so I doubt she would take note of any other question marks.

Her observe level is too low to auto peirce deception and she doesn't have the level of gamer genre savy or experience to auto deduce someone is lying about themselves. And even if she is what they are lying about. Beyond that well she has shit to do like power grinding her way to triangle and to being to be her own Gandalfr.

She'd have to try really hard to screw up her self-esteem now that Louise has The Gamer. No matter how unrealistic or unreasonable her training is, Louise has the ability to reach those goals.

I think the important factor will just be that Karin spends time with Louise.

But are those goals really what she wants? She has decided to become a powerful mage to prove to her classmates that yes, she is just as good as them (which is much better than just rolling over) but that won't make her any less lonely. Her mother is a very powerful mage/warrior/hero. Someone needs to press to Louise that becoming a level 100 Gamer will guarantee her sycophants, and enemies. It doesn't guarantee her friends or people that will care for her versus what she can do for them. Karin is very good at not getting across that she cares to her daughters, Louise does not need an example that being a super powerful war asset is what she wants to be her end goal in life.

I think part of what makes this fic so delightful is that Louise is approaching the whole thing from ignorance - she's discovering all the stats, mechanics, and oddities from the perspective of someone who has absolutely no exposure to RPG gaming or anything even remotely similar. Louise's exploration and growth has some real charm to it.

I have dropped nearly every Gamer fic I've ever read (including the original webtoon) after they got lost in endless maths and random stat-wanking, leaving the story floundering. From what I've seen so-far, this fic is no danger of that whatsoever.

I don't think Karin is the best person to teach her how to deal with loneliness... actually, I don't think she even knows anyone who could help with that.

Duke has his estate, Karin has her rule of steel, Cattelya substitutes animals, Eleanore is forever alone, Kirche is a player, Tabitha... let's not even go there, Guiche is a manslut, and Montmorency is a yandere.

Yeah she's probably going to have to figure that out herself.

@ MinorGryph,

Unfortunately, probably yes. And Louise is not exactly overly self-aware, and has about the stubbornness of three mules, an elephant and a dozen toddlers so I do not think that will happen quickly.

What about Derflinger though? I mean theres no one better to confide in about something that sounds totally insane, than a completely inanimate object capable of sapience and speech.

Louse: "These floating texts appear and instruct me and tell me I have gained wisdom and give me quests! "
Derf: "Well, I would say you are mad. But I am a talking sword, so lets just roll with it and figure the whole thing out!"

And then with Derfs help, Louse becomes a minmaxer and becomes the greatest wielder of the sword ever.

Whatever happened to Derflinger anyway?

Louise should add Derflinger to her party once she figures that ability out, would be all kind of interesting to see what adding points in agility would do for him.

Maybe once he get 50 agility and Int he will learn the dancing blade skill and be able to self levitate.

Louise bought him, and he hasn't been mentioned since.
Because she doesn't have him with her yet.
"Alright. I'll take it." The merchant looked disbelieving, but undeniably happy. Louise didn't let herself regret her words. "The sword and the dagger, with scabbards and belts. Also, the sword should be cleaned and polished. Sharpen it anyway." The shopkeeper nodded, taking note. "How much for it to be ready by next Voidsday?"
Edit: ninjas

Louise still needs to get some armor made or fitted. Right now all she's focusing on are weapons and elemental skills.

I'm morbidly curious how this whole situation actually works from the Halk side of things, actually. Is the Gamer her 'familiar' somehow, or can she summon another one? Is she even still a Void mage for the purposes of the ritual, or would that be cut off like the rest of Void interference? Does she have an underlying affinity to one of the standard elements that was 'covered up' by Void?

Eh. Karin's not that bad. She has friends, if they're still alive like the group of Knights she first joined for the manticore knights she led. Or the Vampire sisters Daphne and the other one.

The ones she had les yay with.
