Magical Girl Home Base Quest

Did, did that just happen? Did we really just get the entire Lesser Key of Solomon and a copy of the Dead Sea Scrolls?

Damn, copies they may be and the later in English, but we're playing with power now everyone. Well, Homer is anyway.

[X] Trinket
-[X] Level 3.

[X] Bomb
-[X] Level 1

While we can make a level 3 trinket I feel a single use bomb to fuck over the Witch would be better

[X] Trinket
-[X] Level 3.

We need to upgrade a room soon for the new girl, but... yah, we need a wand or a trinket right now and a trinket will last longer after being built currently.

Rule 6: Acceptable Content on SV- Let's use different vocabulary in the future, okay?
Ouroboros is super dangerous. Be glad she's not into shotas.

[X] Wand
-[X] Level 1

Calypso needs a wand. She's going to need it for this fight, and she's going to need it afterwards. We can hold off on the trinket.

Rule 6: Under no circumstances is "shota" an acceptable way to describe someone on SV.
That sounds like the sort of thing that would give us a bad reputation, at least when our current tenants are keeping up with the rent. I'm not sure if Homer is paying us, but he just got some books that should be useful.
Homer just got us whatever the scroll was worth. Eowyn and Trompdoy paid for a month on our first week... so if I'm counting right, they have one week left and we can fit Mistletoe in in two weeks.

Isn't Homer a shota?

[X] Wand
-[X] Level 1

So, everyone seems to be voting for wands, but I'm going to make a case for the Trinket. Yes, it's less killy then a wand. But we can make a tier 3 trinket, compared to only a tier 1 wand. The higher quality will make it more killy, making up some of the difference, at least. Furthermore, Trinkets have a lot of other applications besides just shooting things.

Finally, and most importantly, being tier 3 means it'll last 3 times as long. Whichever girl (I vote Calypso) buys that trinket, is going to have power for a long-ass time.

The thing is, in my vision, wands are the basic equipment, exactly why I voted for us to have better ones at start... And exactly why I'm voting for one now. Trinkets are specialty or several useful effects, while a wand is, as described by the QM, a sword. It is the primary tool for fighting, and since Calypso has no equipment or skill to fight by herself, she needs a wand. Also, just a question for the QM, but does Calypso's origins give her anything special?

[X] Trinket
-[X] Level 3.

The way I see it, as long as they're both useful, the level 3 trinket may also have an advantage of lasting longer to begin with.

[X] Wand
- [X] Level 1

Trinket is cool and all, but I think that having a way to deal damage in the first place is pretty important.

Trinkets can also kill people, by word of GM, and are more flexible if, yes, less killy then a wand. But they can still kill. And a level three trinket will last a lot longer then the level 1 wands we can make do, as well as whatever advantage being level 3 over level 1 gives. Are you sure a level 3 trinket is going to be less useful then a level 1 wand for a girl who has nothing at all right now?

Rule 6: Acceptable Content on SV- As a QM, this is completely unacceptable.

He's, like, twelve. He is very shota. Of course, to Ouroboros you're also very shota and the main reason she's not ara-ara'ing on you is because you're a more known factor.

Also you're missing your left ring finger so you loose major husbando points for that.

Yep. They're not an annotated copy, but as far as magic literature goes you have a hell of a firecracker in the library. More importantly, the Lesser Key is in the original, which means less translation degradation for a lot of the bits and bobs in it.

A wand could last only a single week, depending on the roll. The trinket is going to last at least nine.
If it's effects are support or defensive only then it doesn't matter how long it lasts, she can't fight with it. Plus she might not be able to afford it. We can't get a reputation of giving handouts, we've got way to much stuff to fix upgrade. Don't make something that might be useless AND she might not be able to buy.

We have word of QM saying that the comparison between a wand and a trinket is like a sword compared to a shovel. A trinket can kill people just as dead and has additional utility.

Wands are a sword, trinkets are a shovel. One's a lot better at killing people than the other, but both of them still put people in the ground when you apply them to someone's head. The thing about trinkets is that they also have a shitload of other applications, either through inbuilt abilities or spellcraft. One example worth mentioning is you can't fly with a Wand, unless you make a Wand that only lets you fly.

Read before you throw around incorrect assertions.

He also said Trinkets are not always to do damage. Please pay attention, before trying to push someone else down. And right now, we have no control over the result of our creations, so we can't guarantee it can be used to attack.

On another note, although I prefer the wand, it's fair to remind that other supportive effects could very well be very useful in this fight, especially if she can use it on the other girls. My main concern is for after it.
