[X] " Leg it Gals!! "
-[X] back the hell up out of the room while flinging spells at the incomeing Knights.
-[X] get the girls out of the house and calling the guard for back up.
-[X] Focous on blocking dogeing and backing away for now untill you get people helping you.
-[X] make the knife stick out of your head again make it as obvious as possible you are not one of them .

I don't think anyone else was confused.
Part of the problem here is people who voted one way before are voting a different way now and don't give any reasons and that makes me wonder why? What changed? Did I accidentally imply something I really was trying not to? And as I was discussing the matter with @Verminlord he came up with the theory that they thought the wrong option won, as he posted earlier, and changed stance accordingly.

Since I don't include which vote won at the start of a story post, cause in this quest it would be difficult, I can't know for sure and it sounds plausible enough for me to worry, really worry, that I've screwed up. Like... this quest is something I love writing and a take a degree of pride in the fact I can use written word to, hopefully effectively, convey what's going on in a narrative form. So when that's called into question by a friend while we're trying to understand something confusing to us I kinda... panic and want feedback so I can improve whatever it is I did wrong.

If you hadn't noticed by now I'm a pretty anxious person and posting anything I write to a forum like this is kinda... daunting.

Oh god this is huge and personal and I'm stopping typing now because damn I never meant to go on this long

[X] Reach out for the power already in the obelisk

If we can drain the power already present, it should allow us to kill these knights without having more of them spawn.

The words skitter like a spider over your mind. They hurt and you take a step back, clutching your helm. Sullinus lets out a scared little whimper, palms pressed to his temples.
Since when was Sullinus in the room?

He wasn't in the last scene.

[X] Have everyone back away behind you, and hold the doorway, retreating into the stairway if necessary to prevent them bringing their numbers to bear.
-[X] Ask Freya to apprehend Sullinus if he tries to side with them or escape.
--[X] Have the girls stick behind you, healing you as necessary, and blasting the enemy with magic.
---[X] Fight defensively, taking advantage of your healing and fire support.

If we don't somehow disrupt or drain the energy in the obelisk, won't it continue to spawn knights of order? Therfore making it pointless to slay these first knights?

[x] Reach out for the potential you feel is there

Don't reach for the power already in the obelisk. That's what blue boy wants. That way lies Order. Reach for the other power up instead!

Why are people still voting for options from the update prior to the last one? Isn't it obvious the destroy reapers option won? Speaking of which, I'm happy it was chosen, I don't particularly care to be attached to Sheogorath. All we need are our waifus and Lucas our future little sidekick :V He's not essential, though!

They're still there just invisitexted.
BTW guys the previous options are still there, just invisitexted.
[ ] Reach out for the power already in the obelisk
[ ] Plan of attack (general strategy, what kind of attacks, focus, magic etc)
[ ] Explain to the others? (What say?)
[ ] Reach out for the potential you feel is there

Votes:-
Present Power 5
Potential Power 1
Fite Knights 5

..... Normally I'd combine votes at this point but given the situation I feel this is important enough to give you all a heads up about this. You have an hour if you want to break the tie.

Order
The Knights take another clanking step towards you, blades still raised. "What are those and why do they look like you Fast?" Diana asks quietly, you note that her hands are shaking.

"U-Uhm... actual Knights of Order, not the friendly kind like me." You tell her, all three of the woman clustered together at the top of the stairs. "Don't worry, I can deal with them." You say confidently.

The three Knights make a screeching noise, utterly inhuman. Diana, Morlia and Freyja flinch away from the sound alone. Freyja's sword wavers in her hand but her face it set and her eyes glaring at the advancing daedra. You heft your own blade and try to come up with a plan, some advice to give her.

You wrack your brains, trying desperately to remember if there's a way to destroy a Knight of Order quickly. Some weak spot or other than you can exploit, anything that you could do to stop this before it can begin. Something you can do. Something....

Of course... if destroying the obelisk wasn't the answer then using it must be. It can only take a matter of moments to find out, and all you have to do it get past three knights. In a tight space. Without getting impaled. Piece of cake really.

"I'm going to try something, try and force them to get to you one by one. They aren't very imaginative and don't change tactics much beyond stab over and over." You advise Freyja quietly, in case the Knights can understand you. If only more was known about these things.

"What are you going to do?" Freyja's question is just as quiet as yours.

"Something really stupid." You admit, lower your shoulder and charge.

"Fast no!" Morlia and Freyja yell together. Diana lunges after you, apparently on instinct. Freyja grabs her around the waist and hauls her back to safety.

The Knights are right in front of you. Two more steps. The three crystal swords, twins of your own, are chopping down at you. One more step. If you had eyes they'd be screwed up in anticipation of the swords about to hack into you.

The blades are barely a hair from your armour when you drop. Your knees scrape shavings of wood from the floorboards as you slide between two of the Knights of Order. Their swords miss you and embed in the floor.

Not bothering to rise you throw yourself bodily at the obelisk, hand outstretched. There's a well of power in there, if you can reach it and drain it the Knights will stop. The obelisk will be inert, there will be nothing for them to protect and they will wait for more orders that won't come if you can help it.

Gauntlet smacks into hard crystal and you reach....

You are standing in shades of grey.

The smooth crystal under your feet is dark grey. The vaulted ceiling over your head is pale grey. The walls around you are studies in gradients of grey.

There are shelves behind you, each book an identical block of grey ordered perfectly from A to Z.

Stretching out in front of you, silent as the grave, unmoving as ancient mountains, stand the Legions of Order. Into the distance, beyond the edge of your sight, they stand in perfect lines with blades in hand. Sleeping in their Lords exile.

A throne of spikes, sized for a giant, looms beside you. It is empty. The well of power at its feet is somnolent. The rivulets of that same power throughout the hall a frozen. This whole place, the heart of Order in exile, awaits its master to reach into the well and set it all in motion once more.

Under your feet is a thread of active power, you can sense the obelisk on the other end manifested on Nirn. You can feel it under your feet and you know how easy it would be to take control of it or set it back to stillness. Just like it would be easy to walk up to the throne and take what has been left abandoned there.

[ ] Take control of the thread beneath your feet
[ ] Take control of the heart of Order for yourself
[ ] Stop the flow of power under yo NO!

[ ] Stop the flow of power under you

Is this actually not an option, or do we just ignore order's objection? It's hard to tell.

Of the remaining options...

[X] Take control of the thread beneath your feet

This seems less likely to result in the end of the world.

The other possibility if it doesn't start the greymarch is overwhelming power, but meh. Strong daedra, don't need power ups, and op characters are boring anyways.

[X] Take control of the heart of Order for yourself

Lets do this UNLIMITED POWAHHHH.

Lets not listen to the Evil Overlord List:

No matter how tempted I am with the prospect of unlimited power, I will not consume any energy field bigger than my head.
