[x] Reach out for the power already in the obelisk

-because i saw the invisitext and i'm not allowed to do a batman vote...

So, from what I can gather, this pylon is probably sheogorath-corrupted. The existing power seems Orderly, the potential seems Chaotic.

Thus, taking the power involves aligning ourselves with Jyggalag, taking the potential involves aligning us with Sheogorath, and smashing it is a refutation of both.

This is undercut somewhat by the invisitext-voice-of-fuck-knows-what wanting the existing power, rather than the potential, as one might expect.

The "destroy with all of your hate" option is a little concerningly worded, and exactly where you'd put the trap if you were designing this scenario as a trap.

All in all, there really isn't enough data to solve it, so I'm going to vote with my gut.

[X] Stab it. Repeatedly. With all of your hate.
-[X] Ask the others to see to the wounded man.

Inadmissible vote. We can only embellish, not add new options.

OOC: unless im seeing somethign differetn with the post then you, the invistext voice is reaching for the potential, not the existing power.

Just found this quest. It is awesome. And... I am concerned about stabbing anything with our hate. Especially since Lucas trying to mess with the circle apparently got him blown off. So...

[x] Grab the shiny

Not sure if we should aim for potential or whatever is in the obelisk, but either will do. Actually... Go with invisitext-chan! Invisitext-chan is subverting Order boy, so let's support him to find out what he wants!

[X] Reach out for the potential you feel is there

Okay, that makes more sense. I caught the more obvious invisitext in the reasoning bit, but missed the invisitext vote.

That puts a different spin on things.

[X] Reach out for the potential you feel is there

Official GM Advice:- If you've spotted one invisitext there's likely more elsewhere... usually when I'm using it it's just for funnies though :D

Knights of Order
No. You aren't a Knight of Order you are not touching the thing in the magic circle. Searing anger fills your body, rising in your chest like magma.

Your hands are shaking with the intensity of it. It's like your soul is igniting with purified desire to smite the abomination Sullinus summoned. The thing needs to be destroyed. You need to destroy it. You need to break it and shatter it right now. This moment. There's no time to lose.

With both hands you grip the hilt of your sword and raise it high over your head. One blow. One single strike more powerful than any other you've made, fuelled by every scrap of anger scouring your soul, burning along your limbs.

You swing. Sword cleaving the air faster than you've seen, making it scream. All that's visible to the eye of your sword is a blur of cyan. It's a strike no human could ever make, too fast, too powerful.

CLANG!

Blade smashes into obelisk and bounces off, jarring out of your hands. The impact crashes up your arms. It feels like they're about to shake free of their sockets and fall to the floor, empty bits of armour. Your sword crashes to the floorboards somewhere behind you.

The obelisk glows greyish blue, like the circle surrounding it.

"W-What have you done!?" Sullinus, black patches all over him like he's a cartoon struck by lightning, stumbles into this room from what is, presumably, the bedroom.

THREAT DETECTED. NATURE UNKNOWN. ACTIVATING DEFENSIVE FORCES.

The words skitter like a spider over your mind. They hurt and you take a step back, clutching your helm. Sullinus lets out a scared little whimper, palms pressed to his temples.

Three of the six faces of the obelisk distort. Familiar angular forms pressing against the inside of the crystal like it's taut, thin cloth and they're desperate to get through. Oh no...

You back away, too horrified to look away you scrabble for your sword blindly. Something tells you you're going to need it.

The swords break the surface of the obelisk first with a sound like a guillotine blade falling. Then arms, legs, broad spiky shoulders followed by the pointed crystal helmet.

Sullinus is pressed against the wall on the opposite side of the room, behind the line of knights, cut off. Your gauntlet closes on your sword and you raise it. "Fast what was th-" Diana stops at the top of the stairs, just in your peripheral vision and gasps.

The three Knights of Order take their swords in two hands and raise them. "▂▂▃▃▄▄▅▅!" They advance, perfectly in synch.

Well done, you found the trap. :D

Well...shit.

Anyone here know anything about Knights of Order? Like what they weak against, easy ways to destroy them, etc. etc.

Okay we should've seen it coming
Magical Pylons of Dooms will obviously be trapped.
Next time we should just push it out to the sea or put it on a sealed box or a tight space somewhere
So yknow when the trap activated they will get stuck on piece of the scenery.

[X] " Leg it Gals!! "
-[X] back the hell up out of the room while flinging spells at the incomeing Knights.
-[X] get the girls out of the house and calling the guard for back up.
-[X] Focous on blocking dogeing and backing away for now untill you get people helping you.
-[X] make the knife stick out of your head again make it as obvious as possible you are not one of them .

I don't care what power that Obelisk is emanating, we ain't touching it.

Yeah, and SV stepped right into the trap. Lulz chaos can also have negative consequences. Who'd have thought.

Just mentioning it was the stabbing action that won, not the reach for the potential.
Uh... was that not obvious from the stabbing? I thought that was obvious from the stabbing? Am I failing as a writer in conveying what happened?

Seriously guys I need to know about that 'cause if what won isn't obvious I need to know so I can fix it!
