Given this outpouring of support, I suppose I should make it official:

Life Ore Death will be going on a Hiatus, probably through September, though I intend to post again in October.

I'm very grateful for everyone's love and support; it's not a matter of personal problems in my life so much as my helping people I know and a few other things eating up my time, so don't worry too much about me.

My best wishes to everyone in these trying times, and feel free to keep posting or to PM me if you want to talk. Hugs to everyone!

Hi everyone!

I'm doing well, despite some family friends going through hard times, but I've also picked up a part-time job as a paralegal and been hit by a few different plot bunnies.

You may see me post another story thread as I try to work out some inspiration, but LOD is officially on hiatus until January, 2021.

I'm sorry if this is disappointing, but it is what it is. I remain reachable by PM if people want to chat for any reason, and any omakes or questions people want to post are very welcome.

Holy shit, I just binge read this for like a week? This is good stuff and I've never seen YJ and Mistborn is while good is *definitely* not my favorite Cosmere series, I would not have picked a Terriswoman OC for a MC but everything about her backstory being tied in with Mistborn canon to connecting it with the New Gods and anti-life, you've done a really great job melding things together. The character moments are always the highlight for me though and you really deliver on them, I made a SV account just to get emails about this thread

I didn't mention it before, but your thorough and heartfelt review really made my day. I'd even say it made my week, so thank you so very much.

If you have any questions about future or potential character interactions, I'm always happy to discuss, drop hints, and accept ideas. Just be wary of spoilers, because eI like to brag about my plot lines.

How do you feel about Retention? Specifically either the ability to have memories (storing makes it so you don't remember the time stored as well, tapping makes it so that what you are experiencing while tapping is more deeply engraved in your memories) or the ability to remember (storing makes general recall more difficult/fuzzier/less detailed, tapping makes general recall easier/sharper/more detailed).

I prefer the former to the latter, as the latter feels like it encroaches on Acuity to some degree.

Well overall, but a bit tired right now. I need to do some chores and grooming tomorrow -- incidentally, I have twice successfully cut my own hair and been complimented on it -- but it's been a quiet birthday which is honestly how I've come to like it. I reconnected with some distant family, had a chat with friends I haven't seen for a bit, and scheduled some more meetings for the near future on top of getting started with my job responsibilities and requirements. I'm pleased with things.

Not that I mind the hugs or attention -- in fact I deeply appreciate them very much, and it meant a lot to me to see there'd been some new posts even after all this time -- but for the sake of mod review and my own sense of thread integrity, anyone who wishes to bump/hug me should please post something meaningful to avoid infractions.

Options include (and remember, you can keep these two- or three-hundred words easy,) the following:

• A review/analysis of your favorite plot arc
• An assessment of how I've changed a character/circumstance from canon and how they may keep changing
• A list of suggestions for a Crowning Moment on LOD's Tropes page (we have a Funny page now, but it's really short!)
• An omake about off-screen events or hypothetical scenes, such as
  • Conner & M'gann out on a date (Oh, the humanity!)
  • Other holiday celebrations of characters
    • Kaldur's birthday was back in February, and we mostly just brushed over it, but he's 17 now
  • Predicting what Donna is doing while she's In Space! (I left a few hints)
  • Team members telling tall tales about each other, with newbies guessing which are fake
  • Ferris and Superman during their many Metropolis rooftop afternoons (I wish I'd fit in more of those on-screen)
  • Making up a Magical Girl to be recruited by Tala's recent scheme (I need ideas so they may be canonized) and how they'd meet the Team
  • What does Queen Perdita think about everything? How closely does she watch the Team?
  • The Actual Adventures of Doctor Fate! (I advise focusing on Teen Titans villains like Mother Mae-eye and the Puppet King)
    • For that matter, Giovanni Zatara snarking while real time MST3K-ing everything with Kent Nelson (yes, Kent's still in there)
  • Amanda Waller has kids! (Remember New Year's Eve?) What kind of hero merchandise do you think they bring home?
    • Hint: The Wall respects and is polite to Martian Manhunter, if no one else
