Actually, this opponent was planned the way she is for at least two months.

She was an easy puzzle-boss that you could have beaten by surviving until round two without killing her.
Alas, people invested so little into Eva's defense that she managed to kill you on that one turn. Even if the roll on Night has Fallen had been lower, she would have survived and managed to heal herself in time.

This was, by no means, built to be an automatic loss. Darkness is supposed to wipe away the really weak girls and be a nasty surprise for the big hitters that swipe her away in one strike.

...no, not really. The path you chose was one of the few (aside from outright saying to wait and see what she does) that would have not led to triggering Greatest of the Court. If that Ability had activated, Queen of Darkness would have won either way.

Previous choices on spending did make the success of this path rng-dependent, though. That much is true.

Basically what killed us was just the lack of defense, because everyone realized right then that it was a trap to blinly attack. Waiting 1 round what some mentioned would have meant our win.
I dont see anything we can say against Naron. I hope some people start to think and realize some things, so that this wont be repeated.

Besides that have you realized that Eva (normally the early bird) still sleeps and Rico is awake and she has an option to read a book?

This are extremly obvious points of them merging. With that Fusion is off the table and changing the rule of "If one dies the other dies too" into "As long the other is alive they dont die" or something of that sort would be far too powerfull.
Thats why it is most unlikely that this wont happen. Because our 2 girls arent Nepgear and most likely wont be absolutly OP.

Therefore pls start leveling up our defense. At least Lightlan did start to understand that now.

Same, no immediate upcoming fight, so if theres one we dump into resilience, if not we save for the better one

But we cant just level up our defense if a fight is right before us, if we do that we will die for real next time. We need to raise her defense the next few times. Didnt you get this? You saw what happens if we ignore our defense even more. Right now we need everything that we can get and getting resilience or HP for Eva is the only way we have for her now.
If you want to buy her abilitys, when we dont know what they do or you dont want to accept what they do, it will end up as a failure.

I just say no at the moment because I am conflicted on which defensive stat to boost. I keep leaning towards the latter because Blessing leads to an ability linked to Rico and we know how the dumbasses react whenever something involves Rico getting stronger.

Otherwise we could encounter the exact opposite problem, dying because we encounter an opponent who can No Sell all our attacks.

We dont intend on doing that, but our weakest point is our ability to survive. And this was clearly showed, thats why we need Defense up to the point where we wont die within the first turn. THEN we can go more into our offensiv direction. Because right now nearly all other MG´s just need to look at us to kill us.

Therefore defense to the point that we can survive, maybe together with flying and then weapons, new spells/abilitys and naturally scorching sunlight.
Dont forget that Scorching sunlight can already 1-shot Mg´s like the Queen.

I know that we need more defense. I was warning against going overboard on it.

One thing worth considering though is that weapon levels increase our Attacks Per Turn, which improves our ability to use Skilled and Skillful Dodge, which is an indirect form of defense.

I'm not saying not to raise our defenses. I'm saying not to focus 100% on defense for too long.

Also, the previous offense raise was because we had previously spent way more total EXP on Moon than on Sun. It was to balance that out.


Also, I was way more willing to take big risks in the encounter with the Queen because we knew that the end result of the battle wouldn't actually do anything bad to us.

It was a game, not a life or death battle.

All I have to say about this argument is that generally it doesn't matter how much offense you have if your defenses are lacking and that defense means you can make more attacks total over the course of a battle. As an extreme example of what I mean just look at Solid Core vs Juggernaut Drive back in Crystalwatcher's story. So I say go all out on improving the defenses for now. At the very least until Moon, who's supposed to be defense focused, can take a hit better than Sun

Actually, that's a pretty bad example. Nepgear could have extremely easily killed Juggernaut Drive in a single attack. The reason she needed the defense was because she was trying to non-lethally defeat a glass cannon. If Nepgear wanted to go lethal? Fight would have been over a lot quicker. And effortless for Nepgear if you make their High-Speed Combat levels equal.

That level of tanking is also only possible via % reductions to either Incoming Damage or End Damage. No (reasonable) amount of Health or Base Resilience will let you survive that shit. You'd need Health and Resilience that grow exponentially instead of linearly. And an immunity to Armor Pierce/Juggernaut/Unstoppable.

And your point? The defense was the only reason she survived and do you really think these 2 ten year olds are going to actually ever try to kill a human? If they did kill someone it'd probably get hit them harder than Nep was when she accidentally killed Truth.

My pure mechanics point still stands about more attacks per battle because survival is more important than stopping power. The offense can be in the form of our allies for now lets just make it so we can survive before being able to kill.

And you think moon and sun will have no % reductions? Heck sun can already half damage once per turn who says that it won't eventually get better? We have to upgrade the base to gain access to the better stuff so lets do so and see what it unlocks. Besides I said Solid vs Juggernaut was an extreme example of that.

That comes off as underhanded, nowhere in your previous posts did you even suggest you were taking a big risk in the first place with that plan, but rather you seemed convinced it was the only way. Maybe next time mention something like that? Because we lost.

Dude, he's just trying to cover his ass. Trust me, he doesn't want to even consider that he may have been even slightly wrong. I mean, just look at him trying to say that we shouldn't over focus on defense, when if there is any one stat we would end up over focusing on, defense would be the stat.

Also a point to add here. I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with the way you argue, but you have successfully and repeatedly unconvinced me of a point I was originally leaning towards due to other factors to do the opposite or to not bother.
