That seems like an improvement, but I'd take out the specification of who should cast.

Sun needs to be able to Dodge if an enemy jumps high enough to attack her from above and Moon isn't quick enough to Intercept.

Granted, that probably won't happen when they're just as blind about our abilities as we are about theirs.

Only reason to remove the line completely is if you think that taking a tiny bit of our focus off of our enemies in order to aim at Ana and Ludger will end badly, which I'd be worried about if we had a more harsh QM.

While on the topic, might as well change the line "kill your opponents on the same turn without using magic, then resurrect them" to use the word "spells" instead of "magic".

That's only if Happy Trumpet counts as a familiar weapon. We've experimented with using it a little bit, but I don't think we've practiced enough for Superior Discipline to kick in like that.

I think you left out Veil of the Solar Goddess from the second half of the calculation (after winning the Intercept)?

It actually is not. The Benign twins want to go 2on2 1, not 2on4 3. Even if you manage to wake them, Ana and Ludger will have to sit on the sidelines feeling useless.
Okay, so it's not IC. Fine.
I'm taking the last line out, and modifying the "goals" line. Update in a few moments.
@justinkal, while the point is moot, here's the answer to your inquiry. Sun has 4 APT, she can Adroit Dodge (costs 3 APT) even if she casts the spell, and in a pinch, she can borrow from Moon.

As for Happy Trumpet, we have trained with it, WOQM we know how to properly use it, Ray and all, and this makes me convinced we actually can apply Discipline to it. For the second part of calculation, I am very much not sure if Veil of the Solar Goddess still applies after Intercept - not all abilities do.

My idea still stands: try to seperate the enemys and use our connection for us, because we know and see and so on was the other does. They dont have that advantage and the Idea Justinkal had was good too.
If you're referring to justinkal's idea of using the kunais Rogue would be throwing around, it's not guaranteed they have Limitless and are up for grabs. As for your idea of trying to separate them...

I consider it risky and unreliable, and so are against it. For one thing, after we explained our twinspeak they know we are one person, so they will probably be wary of letting us separate them. For another, if they do not separate, we run into the possibility of them pursuing just one of us, and that's dangerous. And for third, if they target Sun first (and if they believe Ricos of the twins are primarily offense specced, they will), they can rapidly deplete what health we have.

On one hand, true.
On another hand, they do not know our spell list (spell lists, as they will assume), so as long as we don't obviously overlap our spells they will only have suspicions and not guarantees.
On the gripping hand, Synch-spells are a thing too. A spell (or two) might pass without giving the game away.
On the other gripping hand, it's not like it will be very relevant. The one spell we have that we're likely to use to give the game away is Soothing Moonlight, because our other spells aren't as useful in the "aim for non-lethal knockout" situation - in that they are either obviously synch, possibly synch, or cannot be used to full effect because they will kill the target.

It seems I can now close the votes.

In the instant before anyone moves, something snaps into place. Your eyes widen fractionally as you realise that your magic just did something new, something big. With this, you understand there might be more you can do, perhaps even permanent. It will not stop your other selves from wanting this fight, though; you have to defeat them first.

And so you begin in earnest, determination burning within every fiber of your bodies.

"Supernova!"
"Scorching Sunlight!"

Even if they might have moved first, you get the first strike; light is faster than anything else, after all. Moon's cascade of light washes over the place, most of the damaging energy wrapping closely around you. The heat gently dries your tears while the bright shine does its work; both Eva and Rico squeak in surprise before covering their eyes. This is perfect for your attack, even though they both jumped back instinctively. However, your content about the good start immediately vanishes when you see your beam of light bend around to target Eva instead of Rico.

(First to the Fray: Attack targets Benign Guardian instead

It immediately tears through Eva's outfit and makes her skin redden a little bit, though that vanishes a moment later; she begins to glow weakly, draws her Katana in a simple yet elegant flourish, and tries to blink her vision back to normal. You are already moving while she does that though, Sun rising higher and Moon darting off toward the still blinded Rico.

Both of them are attempting to regain their vision and keep tense, but this is another opening to exploit; so you swing with as much force as you can. You only realise you underestimated your opponents again when Rico turns Moon's way even without seeing anything, the speed you took up already making it impossible to evade her thrown Kunai.

Rico's weapon slams into your scepter and pushes it off course, making you miss your target by centimetres as she gracefully leans aside... before moving her other arm-

70,226 Total End Damage

Primordial Moon Health: 294,128 - 70,226 = 223,902)

Searing pain blossoms through your shoulder the moment you realise she threw her Shuriken at you; the attack missed its mark and scraped off your armour, but its pure speed and force send Moon flying through half a dozen buildings anyway. The noise covers everything else as you retreat from your unconcious sister to find a better battleground. Only now does Rico's discarded Kunai actually land after pinging off your scepter, its tip buried into the ground.

It is quiet for a while after that; you try to make as little noises as possible while digging Moon out of the rubble, but also bring Sun closer to her new position. Your opponents hardly did anything, but it was enough to confirm they are horribly strong. This fight will need all your strength and wits to win.

Once your bodies joined up again and you heard a surprised shriek from Eva, you try to cast your spell in a whisper. ""Soothing Moonlight.""

42,606 Unified Heal

Primordial Moon Health: 223,902 + 42,606 = 266,508)

Strings of light fan out to cure most of Moon's injuries as you take a deep breath.

Then you hear a light tapping on plastic and snap your heads to where Rico is running at you on the ceiling overhanging this part of the area. She wears one of her trademark smirks and jumps at you the same moment Eva smashes through the wall to your right head-first; they move in synch, almost as well as you yourself do... but this is what differentiates you from them.

They are better than you objectively, much better. But even their greater power and skill do not help them when it comes to teamwork. Not against you. Which they learn the hard way when, without any hesitation, Moon turns to meet Rogue and Sun turns to charge at Guardian. Both your scepters swing like one, yet aimed at different targets.

But even that is not enough to break their superiority. Despite the fact she wields her sword in one hand, with the other one trying to keep herself decent after you ripped her clothes, Eva crushes Sun's weapon aside. Her attack is weakened and what momentum remains lacks the punch to go through Sun's force field, but your body is thrown skyward by the force of her blow. Meanwhile, Rico swiftly parries your strike and ignores that it smashes the weapon from her hand, easily pulling more Kunais out of thin air to turn away Moon's follow-ups. You disarm her a few more times, but ultimately she breaks through your guard and lands some devastating slashes all over your chest.

Crimson flowers bloom upon your body as you retreat into the air, leaving a trail of blood and shower the ground when having to roll away from a thrown Kunai; the wound thankfully closes soon after you hid behind a large tower, so you did not lose too much of it. The coppery smell and sight of it on your discoloured surroundings keeps being unsettling, though. Sun is in the process of orienting herself and taking further to the air; like this, your bodies manage to reunite far above the ground.

For some reason, your opponents take their time following you. They said they would give this their all, but you have the feeling they are still holding back. Maybe they feel bad about bullying you like they do... you certainly would if your roles were reversed.

That thought is put on hold when you see Rico and Eva down below, though; the latter is looking up at you, face red and still holding up the remains of her clothes with one hand. She keeps an eye on your movements... while Rico runs around sticking Kunais into walls or roofs or whatever else she can find. Looking back to the ruins where you first clashed, you notice the gleam of steel over there as well... and another, different shine.

What the...?

somehow this makes me think of ninja wire.

I need to put some thought into strategy. There's a lot of factors to think about here.

Wasn't Moon below Sun here, so shouldn't the (very small) damage increase from Radiant Shine Unbroken have applied?

Sounds like she's got some spell or ability that only works if she spreads kunai around. Maybe something similar to drawing a magic circle by connecting the lines between all the kunai in the ground.

Raising Moon's Scepter by two levels will let us win intercept conflicts against Rico for 370 XP. Is worth considering.

Sunlight Scepter needs 3 Levels (480 XP) to win an intercept against their Eva.

Which would leave us with only 50 XP.
Somehow I do not like spending XP on both of that. Hm.... Ideas?

I don't think banking on "-30000 Unexpected Counterattack" is a good idea.......

Also, she's a Skill affinity with tons of APT, Impossible Agility, and a top tier skill negation ability. It's very possible that she might have the ability to skill negate an attempt to Intercept her attack (Goddess Grey can do this in CWMGQ).
Which would leave us with only 50 XP.

It's worth considering Raging Shine for Moon instead of weapon levels. From its description, sounds like Moon's damage increases based on how much damage she's taken, which is a lot here. Bit of a gamble though.

One thing that would be really nice, but would be hard to pull off (due to Rogue's negations), is to let Sun actually hurt an enemy with a melee attack. Batter can cause a 25% reduction to both Base Damage and Base Resilience.

we win the intercept conflict by 10k more than that.

ok, I have the first shreds of a plan. Please nitpick and advise.

-[] Moonlight Scepter 18 -> 20 (370 XP)
-[] Scorching Sunlight 10 -> 14 (460 XP)
Total Cost: 830 XP

[] Plan:
-[] Moon casts Scorching Sunlight at Eva to trigger First to the Fray without triggering Humble Heartache
-[] Sun notices the increased damage from Scorching Sunlight and then also casts it at Guardian. Increase damage with Radiant Shine Unbroken and regulate with Superior Discipline so it does not kill her.
-[] After Guardian is taken out, play keep away with Rogue until you can cast a spell again.
--[] Moon intercepts attacks from Rogue if she tries to close in.

@Naron Can Sun regulate the damage after Moon first casts Scorching Sunlight at Benign Guardian in the same turn?

Maybe our Soothing Moonlight should get a few levels too or we will die to fast, because we cant heal us enough. I still think we should seperate them, but first we should try and be able to survive them.

As far as I see the fight is to survive long enough until we got enough EXP for surviving, so that we can actually win.

Raising Moonlight will cause us to loose our thread merging. Which means if we buy 2 levels we are exactly where we are now.
Only buying more levels would actually increase our healing potential.

It also will drag out this fight and I do not feel like finding out what the other twins have planned on the ground...
I half-belief they are connecting all those Ninja weapons with wire and then send them against us all at once.
It will only get worse if we give them time.

It didn't work as I'd have liked, but... We survived.

This is probably a very good idea. Except this time we probably shouldn't count on the Unexpected Counterattack malus.

Also, consider using LVL 21 instead (570 EXP). With 131529 Base Damage, 65764 Discipline, and 164411 Godlike Strength (361704 aggregate damage before Overwhelm, or 197293 vs Benign Guardian) we actually have a better chance of dealing with them. Problem is, with only 180k health on us, we're cutting it horribly close in terms of being able to survive their answer. If you haven't noticed, most of our opening shots were done with them having hefty maluses on damage for one reason or another.

One Rico starts throwing her Shuriken and Kunai at us, we're going to fold like wet blankets. Which she will, the moment Eva goes down, methinks.

Now.

@Naron, does the Brave Souls bonus of Benign Guardian still work if Benign Rogue is disabled/knocked out? Both in "still gets bonus" and "still keeps bonus" if they are different.

Things I've noticed:
1) The Shuriken Rico used was extremely fast and just as deadly. It had Hypersonic (3), so... @Naron, we can't really intercept it, can we?
2) That said, its two ??? abilities do not include Smite/Judgement, Armor Pierce/Juggernaut/Unstoppable, or a DoT effect. I'm almost certain one of the abilities is Return, though.
3) Benign Guardian is almost a better counter-attacker than we are, with Primordia, and the promise of Unstoppable in the works. She is only a Juggernaut yet, luckily.
4) Unless we deal with Benign Rogue fast, Benign Guardian is going to become faster and faster the longer it goes. We need to make our next assault count.

we win the intercept conflict by 10k more than that.

@Naron Can Sun regulate the damage after Moon first casts Scorching Sunlight at Benign Guardian in the same turn?
1) We probably cannot "take out" Guardian with Scorching Sunlight alone, as it's a lethal spell
2) If Rico starts throwing things at us, we cannot survive that.

[] EXP Plan Moon Scepter Power
-[] Moonlight Scepter 18-21 (570)
-[] Scorching Sunlight OR Soothing Moonlight 10-13 (330)

Soothing Moonlight 13 jumps to ~41k per beam, or 240k twinned heal.
Scorching Sunlight 13 jumps to ~82k per beam, or 480k unified damage with RSU.
Baleful Eclipse 15 jumps to ~225k total damage, just in case.

Still won't help us against "Rico kills us with massive damage", though.

Equally just in case, getting Veil of the Lunar Goddess 19 with Scepter 21 gives doubles the current remaining health - enough to guarantee survival of TWO Rico's successful hits on Moon - or FOUR successful hits on Sun while she's up above.

If one is knocked out, she no longer counts as being on the field and Brave Souls stops working. Any bonus already gained still applies, though.

Also yes, you can not intercept Rogue's Black Star.

Raising Moonlight will cause us to loose our thread merging. Which means if we buy 2 levels we are exactly where we are now.
Only buying more levels would actually increase our healing potential.

I half-belief they are connecting all those Ninja weapons with wire and then send them against us all at once.
It will only get worse if we give them time.

Then we need to level it more otherwise we will drop within the next 1-2 rounds if we dont use our spells to just heal us. Besides it doesnt seem that both of them can fly, we can maybe buy some time. Naturally buying more defense is a must too.

-[] Sun notices the increased damage from Scorching Sunlight and then also casts it at Guardian. Increase damage with Radiant Shine Unbroken and regulate with Superior Discipline so it does not kill her.
My biggest concern with this plan is in regards to this. Guardian gets more dangerous with each turn, and each turn she's active she becomes better at understanding our tricks and thus harder to take out.

If you want to do things that way, I'd recommend specifying to try to inflict her with Burn while leaving her at less than 1% of her Maximum Health.

That way when the next turn begins, her health immediately drops to 0 and we can be prepared to cast Reincarnation on her (unless she has some kind of immunity to damaging status conditions).

Probably better to just take her out completely this turn though, so we are better prepared to deal with whatever Rogue has been plotting with her kunai.
Can the damage from winning an Intercept be regulated? Adjust our damage depending on whether or not our opponent tries to Intercept.
