@delethiel I'm curious about the stats for our shinobigatana. Tried finding it online couldn't get much. I know its similar to the katana but unique to the scorpion.

Well the Ninjato in irl is a unconfirmed(no documents or evidence) ninja weapon. What about Ninja-to? Or would that be distinct from shinobigatana?

Yeah thanks. After some more thinking I would rather have a katana and some sort of connection to our family than to another family and you can't get a katana unless you steal/loot/get it via gift. Plus the other leading vote has the item be a Ono which is a war gear and it can definitely cause issues social wise.
[X] We were kharmically tied to a kid of your liege; when they died before adulthood, you were entrusted their fated weapon (Bayushi, Katana)
I mean keeping it wrapped/in a box definitely has its own issues. We might not get a social penalty that way but we would have to spend time to get it out and ready it. And our shinobigatana isn't the best primary weapon to be wielding out in public because its forbidden.I mean, Wargear only penalizes when "wielded", or "readied." Keeping you Ono wrapped and bond or your armor in its box has no problem.
Not sure what the question is exactly. The child is dead. And karmic ties are very important and so we were given the sword that was to be the childs since they're dead and it's all that's left of them. That's that. The question that's running through my head is if we get tied to our liege's dead child, and we're functionally a ronin, what's gonna stop the Scorpion Clan heads from keeping a leash on us in order not to lose whatever potential that child held?

I'll be honest I didn't realize what Daisho meant in the item section lol. Until I searched it up. I do want to get that connection with our family. Can we switch out the katana with another item? Or can it have a special quality? You already have three swords in between katana, wakizashi and shinobigatana. But if you really want a second katana maybe you can write in some other tie to another group that gets you a katana?
Maybe some service with the Kaiu, or the friendship of a Tsi?
A karmic tie is a when 2 people have ties form their past lives(hence karmic/karma). And so the 2 will have their paths cross and generally be supernaturally aware of each other. My concern is if we're gonna be guided towards whatever paths the child was going to take before death, not to be a replacement for that child, but as consequence of being tied to him. I may not be familiar with how kharmic ties work, and what's considered the norm.

Now since the the perosn who was our karmic tie is dead there is no more connection. So there is no connection to worry about
You can't put that there and expect me to not try and make this into a Dread Pirate Roberts joke.[] One of your parents used to have your pirate alias before you were born.
