Kingdom of God: A Quest of Holy Revolution

Burs, I suspect, is loyal to Burs. To align with the originators was to wage war against multiple other standards and gain little from it. To Obliterate was to become Lord of the West.

Don't make ideological calls based on a man securing himself phenomenal political and military power.

Indeed, every move Burs has ever taken in this quest has been to set himself up as a Kingmaker.

A Power player that nobody really trusts, but cannot afford to turn away. When he supported the Conformers, before sensing the winds and turning against Origination, and gaining himself an army in the process. When he missed out on the battle of Nachivan, but was still in position with his army to gain himself power and fame just by moving his army around. Because neither the Patriarch nor the Originators could afford to ignore him if he made signals about turning to their side.

Trusting Burs would be a fatal mistake, and worse he's the sort of man to maneuver himself into a position where one might not have any choice in the matter. Even now, he's the Slayer of Origination and the Savior of the Gushanaran witches, after he left them to die no less. His army of Young Bucks has feasted on fame, glory, and wealth with him. Even more than the White-Gold and the Pale-Horse, Steedeater is a dangerous army. Because much like Caesar's Veteran Gaulic Legions, they have no loyalty but to Burs.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand it is good that the originators have been thoroughly crushed. On the other Burs seems to been motivated by the rewards offered, which still calls into question his loyalty to the Patriarch. As said by others I think his loyalty is only to himself and the acquisition of power.

Brothers and sisters, should we not hold those in power to the grace of God, if we are to walk the spiral of truth then we cannot allow others to turn about and hold the procession still.

Very true Burs saw the chance to become Lord of the West and promptly took it.

Everyone out here cheering High Ataman Bane when it's pretty clear he stayed "loyal" because the Patriarch granted him a petty kingdom and unlimited retaliatory power in Sufgar. Mark my words, the man is an opportunist, and it's important to keep our eyes on the seat of power lest more of those arise.

In particular...I'm starting to see less May 1789 and more February 1917 in how things are playing out here.

I have no idea how fast things will move but it's worth noting that four years passed between the Tennis Court Oath and the execution of Louis XVI

It's probably more useful to think of this in terms of the Chinese and Russian Revolutions-Civil Wars in terms of how fast the timeline will move.

And the answer is Yes.

The only reason we aren't on Haitian Revolution speed is because we didnt touch Serfdom yet.

I think the Great Men floating around definitely puts us more in a potential warlord period but I could see the status quo carrying on for well over a year at least

I would have preferred it if Burs had declared for the Originators. That would have made him a lot less dangerous.

I'm especially interested in getting in good with the Mass Jury and the other similar mass juries that are probably going to be popping up around it. It seems likely that armies are going to start deciding political realities in pretty short order. Having an army that's at least sympathetic to us is good. Having an army that we lead or that an ally leads is even better.

This is so painful. I want to be there with Makabam and Ma'on and the sailors, but we need to consolidate and clean house internally before we can expand any further, and this is an ideal opportunity to grow stronger, not just bigger.

New Reformation Faction: The Sorrowful Circles

The Black-Gold Banner of Steedeater
Bookwyrm was right, Burs was setting out to conquer a powerbase of his own. Scary potential foe to have.

Remaining resistance collapses. Prince Narem, marching north and enraged that again his bounty has been stolen from, loots lower Sufgar for days to extract some value from the country, before Burs sends envoys to him advising that 'the little saber-cub should rush home to be with his good old tata, if he does not wish for I to send him there myself'
Narem continues going gamer, but Burs & the Steedeaters are just too terrifying it seems.

Burs declares an 'apologetic axis' and 'repentant Sanhedron' composed not of an elected series of elders but appointed and trusted 'wise men', whilst he 'transitions Sufgar and Alanar back to the home of God'.
Ah, Vaspukaran's first Juror Junta.

CETASH

Uhhh Metamoa is between Burs & the new Ischak Sanhedron. Hmmm.

Anyways which options will get us started on fighting the Tranquil Rite's serfdom?

We are sloshing about in an absolute ocean of blood that is growing by the minute.

At the least there will be a big appetite to stop this now because it's becoming too much even for those who suffered in Nachivan. It is very easy for these kinds of events, especially when inflamed by a holy unperson button, to turn into a bloody nightmare. There is enough appetite in the center to at least put a stop to it, especially when the original targets are dead.

Anyways which options will get us started on fighting the Tranquil Rite's serfdom?

The former, as the latter will focus more on working within the boundaries of the Sanhedral Axes and its new politics.

Get started on absorbing the Ma'on and cementing relations with those we fought with.

Tranquil rite folks, very nasty stuff! Let's kick it to the curb. Then we can get to work towards realizing the people's inner Light (aka HaKhofshim's edit2: original theopolitical doctrine)

Ugh I do dislike that we have to pick between our allies, evenly split between the Ma'on-Makabam "Expand New Order" bloc or Ohr-Sadbargar "Break Old Order" bloc. But it's not like we're unfamiliar with that dilemma considering the differing interest between the Gunpowder Eucharist, the Scourge of God, & the Ravs of Labor. edit: Which also happens with this vote lmao.

A covenant made in blood spent on the field of battle must be honored
