[X] Finishing the book on Shikoku Island's history.

Of course we should go for this option. It determines what we're going to do for the rest of the day and we need to know more about monsters here, such as the black beast. I seriously doubt any normal animal could cause Sasaki gives-no-fucks Kojirou to shudder.

EDIT:
"Nevermind school, you need to get some rest before yourself sick."
before you make yourself ill."
Formally, you should write never mind, not nevermind. Just a tip.
Normally I'd have to go anyways, but because your body is still recovering from a long coma," You wince as she reminds you of that fact.
from a long coma." You wince...

[x] Chatting with Fu.
-[x] Tell her about the dark beast. Ask if she knows about it.

We need to let our friends know it's out there if we're not going to be able to protect them from it. And if she does know about it, we get some much needed intelligence on it.

I will note that Fu at the very least is more informed than most of the hero club (both excluding and including Yue, depending on the subject). At this point it is probably fine to leave things as they are. Although it might not be a bad idea to get a newspaper subscription to check for any mysterious deaths/attacks. If the situation escalates, then we should talk about these problems with the hero club or whoever it would seem to be relevant to tell at that juncture.

Telling Fu could lead to YuYuYu things kicking off early, which would be less than ideal for the entire cast.

I'm thinking we'd do like Assassin class.
Find excuses to go everywhere with Itsuki until we either find something to fight or lay our worries to rest.

Halfway done with the update. Sorry it's taking so long. Practical lab exams are NOT fun to study for.

Also, to show I'm still very into writing this quest and not abandoning it, here's Itsuki's theme song for this quest:

Story Post 14
Ever since the Shinju-sama sealed Shikoku Island off from the outside world, natural disasters have been few and far between, isolated only to three odd cases. The first of these disasters occurred in year 10 of the Age of Gods, when a massive earthquake wiped out much of the eastern seacoast and killed around 1,000 people. Although a major tragedy, with the help of Taisha, further casualties were limited and towns were rebuilt over the next five years.

The next natural disaster wasn't until December 7, 291 A.G., when a stray lightning bolt ignited a forest fire near the village of Okawa, Kouchi. The fire spread into the town itself, killing 405 of its population of 491. As the village's main industry, lumber, had been annihilated, the survivors resettled elsewhere. The Miyoshi clan, of Taisha affiliation, helped greatly in the migration, assisting survivors in finding new homes in nearby cities.

The final recorded major natural disaster occurred on October 8, 297 A.G., with a massive earthquake knocking out the bridge to Ku Island. Dozens of people were killed in the initial bridge collapse, while many others with special medical needs perished as well, as it was impossible to airlift in enough special needs medical supplies for the entire disabled population.

Some have interpreted the events as divine punishment from the Shinju-sama, although Taisha fervently denies such claims.

-Excerpt from Shikoku Island: From the Ancient World to the Age of the Gods

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With a sigh, you snap the history book closed. "Finished." you sigh with a slight smile on your face. That was the first book you've ever finished. It was an... interesting experiance.

Setting the book on your bedstand, you pick up the bowl of udon Fu brought you for dinner.

"Udon is great! So it must be good for you. Get well soon!" she had declared. You shake your head in mirth at Fu's strange obsession with the meal.

But food is food, and you learned long ago not to be picky with what you eat. Breaking your chopstick, you eat your meal in silence.

~Friday, November 2, Year 299 in the Age of Gods~

You wake up Friday morning feeling much better than you had the day before. Despite Fu's protests, you decide to head to school. You're already behind the rest of the class as is, there's no need to widen the gap.

After you and Fu wave goodbye to Itsuki, the two of you continue your journey to Sanshu.

"Fu-chan!" a familiar, pep voice calls out. Turning to the source, you see Onodera Yukino rushing up to the two of you.
"Yukino-chan!" Fu greets with a wave, a broad grin plastered on her face.

You allow a faint smile to grace your features. With a nod, you greet the newcomer. "Onodera-san."

Onodera frowns a bit when she catches sight of you (Did you do something to her?), but quickly reapplies her chipper smile. "I missed you at school yesterday. What happened?"

Fu smacks you on the back. "This idiot thought it'd be a good idea to stay up all night. Outside! I had to spend all of yesterday nursing this moron back to health, and I get not a single thanks in return!"

"I believe I thanked you several times, Fu." you roll your eyes.

"Obviously not enough times!"

Onodera's frown is back again. You cock an eyebrow, but your query is cut off when Onodera turns suddenly, beginning to run away. "I-I'm sorry, something came up. I'll see the t-two of you later." she chokes out.

As the girl runs off, Fu and you glance at each other in confusion.

What a weird girl.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Onodera doesn't show up for the rest of the day.

You catch Fu sneaking worried glances at the girl's desk all throughout the day. You can't blame her, as you're a bit mystified at why the girl reacted so badly to... something this morning.

As lunch rolls around, you meet up with your Yuki and Togo. The lively redhead does wonders to cheer Fu and yourself up, but Togo... seems distressed.

Later in the day, you catch Togo once again with the same distressed expression. Across the room, you see a blushing Yuki chatting with Jougi.

"Things can never be simple..." you mutter to yourself, mulling over this new development. It looks like your kouhai are amidst an... odd love triangle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sneaking out after dark is child's play for a former Assassin class Servant, poor fit for the class or not. Although Fu forbid you from training tonight, your jogging is something that can't afford to be skipped more than one day a week.

Even discounting the black beast, there are still several factors threatening your carefree new life. The love triangle amongst your kouhai has the potential to tear the club apart should things go sour. Assuming Togo reacts to the development in the same way Onodera Yukino seems to dislike you (assuming she is in fact jealous of you) things will be far from carefree. Maybe you should talk to Togo about this tomorrow.

[ ] Confront Togo.
[ ] Let the situation be.

Your mind made up, you continue with your jog. However, as you run, your Eye of the Mind flares up, warning you of immediate danger.

Ducking quickly, you see a black form leap overhead. Summoning the Drying Pole, you bisect the beast as it soars over you.

As the beast melts away into nothing, you smirk at your handiwork. "You'll have to do better than that to get the drop on me."

Multiple snarls answer your boast. Your blood running cold, you swiftly glance around.

Surrounding you on all sides are dozens of black beasts, foam dripping from their jaws.

[ ] Run like hell.
[ ] Stand your ground.
