Thursday, November 30, Year 299 in the Age of Gods
Afternoon
[X] Turn down the suitor face-to-face.
School passes by in the blink of an eye. As the final bell rings, you make your way to the roof of the school, barren except for a small shrine and some air conditioning units.
Leaning on the concrete railing, you gaze out at the city skyline as you wait for the suitor to arrive. Eyes running over the massive wall surrounding Shikoku, barely visible at this distance, you wonder just why the gods of this world needed an entire wall to combat a pandemic. Maybe to keep out the infected?
Hearing the door to the roof open, and you turn around to see-
"Fu?" you ask, cocking an eyebrow at the blonde.
"Yo, Yue." she responds. Grinning, she joins you at the railing. "You were in a hurry to get out of class today, not even stopping to talk to your adorable president!" Fu pouts.
You wave Fu off, internally becoming a bit nervous. This is bad, if Fu sees the suitor she's certain to make a big deal out of it. "Just looking at the ocean. I do this from time to time before club starts." A lie, but Fu doesn't have to know that. "I'll meet you down in the club soon."
Fu waves you off with a smile. "It's all good, Yue," she says, gazing out at the ocean. "I understand how you feel. Sometimes you just need to get away from it all."
No Fu. Please just get the message and go.
You hear the roof door open again. Of for the love of the Shinju-sama.
A rather good-looking boy steps onto the roof, and your hopes of not making this an incident are dashed.
Fu waves to the boy. "Yo Aida-kun. Need something?" Huh? Looks like it's Aida Nao from the class next door.
The one you hear all the girls gushing over and idolizing
You get the feeling that if Ayase Yue were here right now she'd be blushing furiously, attempting in vain to hide her excitement.
But you're Sasaki Koujirou, and you need to set the record straight.
Aida gives you a winning smile, probably confident in his charm. A pity you have to bring down a once fellow comrade on the battlefield of love.
"Ayase-chan, you're a dazzling flower far more magnificent than even a rose in full bloom." he begins.
No, please stop. Fu is already starting to smirk at you.
"Please go out with me." he finishes.
"I'm sorry, but no." you reply.
You hear Fu slip behind you, a thump resounding across the roof as her body hits the floor.
Aida looks a bit thrown off at first, but recovers quickly, winning smile back on his face. "I understand, Ayase-chan. Thank you for your time."
And with that, the door swings shut.
"Well that was relatively easy and painless," is what you would say if Fu were not gawking at you, an expression of pure bamboozlement on her face.
"I... you... what?" she stammers.
This is going to be a fun night.
"Why on Earth would you turn down an absolute stud like that!"
"Not my type." you respond with a flip of your hair, leaving the rooftop.
"Oh I call bullcrap on that one!"
-----------------------------------------------------
Skipping out on Hero Club activities for the day in order to avoid Fu's onslaught of questions, you take the bus out to Kamigawa Beach.
Removing the kendo shinai from your back (you'll return it to the school later, honest!) you go through your kata.
Its been almost two months since you first woke up in this world, and you find it hard to believe it's already been that long. Briefly, you wonder if Saber and her Master were able to beat the golden man.
Your mind now on Saber, you close your eyes, replaying your battle with her in your mind. Letting your body move on its own, you re-enact the duel as best you can given your new body.
Approaching your failed gambit, a mistake that cost you your life, a voice breaks you out of your reverie.
Turning in its direction, you wonder how Fu's "Friend of a Friend" managed to sneak up on you. "Pardon?" you ask.
The girl smiles, the eye not covered by a patch twinkling. "Just wondering if you need a sparring partner. You look kinda lonely out here."
You cock an eyebrow, wondering what this stranger has to gain from approaching you again. Your mind flashes back to the Greek vixen, but you bury that thought as quickly as it surfaces.
[ ] Leave. You aren't really in the mood to be around others right now. Especially not suspicious people who can sneak up on YOU undetected.
[ ] Accept the offer to spar. It would be prudent to gauge this girl's skill level, as having someone who can sneak up on YOU as a potential enemy could be dangerous.
[ ] Decline her offer, but continue to practice. You don't care enough to leave or to accept her offer.
