He can cut people from farther away than he should be able to, and it's often accompanied by a curve of refracted light that transcribes the arc of the cut. Thus, sword beams.

Manga panels, maybe, but the Anime is pretty clear that A) The laser, as lasers should, hits before they can react, and B) is not aimed anywhere they would need to doge. The motion was entirely "holyshitwhatthefuck a laser just blasted a crater in the ground!" jumps of surprise.

Shorter post due to me trying to get back into the groove of this quest after a long hiatus. Nope, it isn't dead yet.

Itsuki lowers he head, eyes downcast. "I'm– Yes, sempai. I'm doing well enough."
You nod awkwardly in response. "That's a relief."
"Yue-sempai... can we talk about what happened later?" Itsuki asks in a small voice.
You smile as warmly as you can, patting the younger girl on the head. "Of course, Itsuki," you whisper back.
"Hey, what are you two whispering about? Gossiping about boys, hm?" Fu jams her face in between the two of you, causing Itsuki to turn beet red.
"W-what? Of course not, nee-chan!"
The rest of the afternoon passed by in a flash, the four of you giggling (you're still getting used to "that" aspect of your new body) as you discussed various topics. Come nightfall, Itsuki is released from the hospital when the doctors finish their examinations, and the Hero Club members go their separate ways.
Much later, after you're certain Fu has gone to bed, you and Itsuki meet in her room.
"Yue-sempai... this wasn't a simple kidnapping was it? I know what I saw wasn't just a dream."
You bow your head. "I'm afraid it wasn't Itsuki. I... I'm sorry you had to see that. No girl your age should be exposed to that sort of violence."
Itsuki smiles grimly. "You saved me, Yue-sempai. Even if I don't agree fully with what you did, I could never hold it against you! What kind of girl would that make me?"
That... could have gone worse.
You pat Itsuki on the head, ruffling her hair a bit.

Em dash because she faltered in her speech and changed it. I guess you could do so with just stumbling words, but there is a long precedent of using hyphens for those ("W-what?").
Your word processor didn't convert the second quotation mark. A possible solution is to alter your keyboard settings so you can directly write them. There is already one made based on the US QWERTY keyboard*, found here: Typography Layout
