Sector I – Interact (Okami), Recruit
As usual, Maya handles most of the administrative scut work while you focus on getting to know Yukimura and figuring out how to recruit Naoko.
)( EXTRA EVENT – YUKIMURA I )(
)( EXTRA EVENT – RECRUITING NAOKO KIRIGAYA )(
Sector II – Build (Dagger)
It's not exactly difficult to repurpose Sakuina's broken saber into a tanto-style dagger. The alien alloy retains its unnatural sharpness, making it a deadly weapon in the right hands.
(-1 Resources)
(Alien Dagger is COMPLETE.)
(Ship Conversion is COMPLETE.)
(Enhanced Armor I is COMPLETE.)
Sector III – Research (Alien Firearms) – 2, 5 = 7 (FLAWED SUCCESS)
Now that the ship has been taken care of, the science team focuses on getting what they can out of the alien weapons that were captured. The energy rifles the Heirians were toting around are easily disassembled, and their inner workings are analyzed. It seems like that the designs should be easy to replicate for general use, though given your resources you'll have to focus on designing one or the other.
PLEASE SELECT WHICH ROUTE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE:
[ ] BLASTER CARBINE – The power of this design is comparable to your current firearms, but the reactionless energy blasts make it much more accurate. Add in the rechargeable battery packs and you have a surprisingly compact beam weapon.
[ ] STUNNER ATTACHMENT – This under-barrel carbine attachment uses neuro-disruptive pulse blasts to stun and incapacitate targets. Allows your Strike Teams to switch to non-lethal force and is highly effective against certain targets, but is ineffective against others.
Sector IV – Scan – 1, 6 = 7 (FLAWED SUCCESS)
Michelle keeps rolling out the hits.
REPORT 1: (Roll 2) This one actually comes from one of your prior investigations. It seems someone has been making problems for the SAD recently; specifically by eliminating certain individuals in charge of their shell companies. One name that's bandied about in some of their e-mail chains is JIN HANSOU. Wait, Hansou… why does that last name sound familiar?
Sector V – Train (Subaru) – 1, 1 = 2 (FAIL)
The failure is less about the learning and more about the fact that Falter and Subaru seem to get along about as well as cats and dogs. You have a firm chat with the two of them, but it doesn't seem anything productive has come from this session.
Sector VI – Heal (Touma)
The last few bandages come off, tests and scans are run, and Touma is officially given a clean bill of health! Which is good…
(Touma recovers 1 Health.)
Sector VII – Train (Touma) – 5, 4 = 9 (FLAWED SUCCESS)
…because you immediately throw him into the ring with Odessa. The wolf girl takes her time working Touma over and putting him through his paces both in the ring and at the range. After this week, Touma jokes that he's starting to wonder if every girl here can kick his ass. This earns him a playful headlock from Odessa.
(+1 EXP to Touma.) (*TOUMA LEVEL UP* Gains the Shooter (Firearms) Trait)

TURN 7 – DRAMA PHASE
EXTRA EVENT 1
You've heard jokes about people eating like a Shounen manga protagonist, but you've never actually seen it in real life until now. It's hard not to feel a slight amount of awe as Yukimura chews through his sixth full plate of food in the commissary. You contemplate this as you sit down at the table across from him, giving him a quick once over.
Yukimura has cleaned up a bit now that he has a roof over his head and a shower. He still looks bedraggled, sure, but at least he's in cleaner clothing and doesn't look like he's about to keel over from starvation. He's actually somewhat handsome-looking if you ignore the skinniness.
Yukimura looks at you silently as you pick up the extra plate of food you have and slide it across the table to him. He quirks an eyebrow as you quickly pull back your hand. "Not going to bite," he says around a mouthful of chicken.
"Didn't want to risk it," you reply in jest. "I was worried that I'd lose a finger."
He snorts in amusement and cracks the chicken bone he was gnawing on open, sucking on the marrow for a moment before setting it on the plate. He looks at the plate you've offered, then back at you, then slowly pulls it closer and picks up the sandwich on it. "What do you want?" The question is, if not friendly, at least not hostile.
"Just to chat," you say, poking your chopsticks into the bowl of ramen in front of you. "Learn more about you.'
"Not good at talking."
"That's fine, I'm good at listening."
He grunts softly, mulling it over as he chews on the big bite of sandwich in his mouth before he swallows. "What do you want to know?"
SELECT AN OPTION
[ ] Ask something about himself (his past, his family, his ambitions, etc.)
[ ] Ask something about his powers (how he got them, what he thinks of them, etc.)
[ ] Ask something about his teammates. (what he thinks of them, how they treat him, etc.)
[ ] Suggest something else (write in).

EXTRA EVENT 2
You're not exactly sure what to expect when you go to recruit Naoko Kirigaya. You intended to pull the same trick you pulled with Subaru: talk to her at school in private, sway her to your side and get her to join up. That was the plan, anyway.
And then you saw a girl matching Naoko's description standing underneath a window, a long cord tied to a very large bowling ball with the free end in her hand.
Naoko is, for want of a better term, tiny. You're pretty sure she only just hits the five foot mark. Her black hair is short and trimmed in a pixy cut, and she wears a pair of large glasses that look even bigger on her round face. She's dressed brightly, with an oversized pink sweatshirt with blue English text in a cursive font on the sleeves and a pair of oversized, flared white pants over colorful sneakers. You can see a long chain of phone charms dangling from a pocket in her sweatshirt and a white cloth facemask dangling from one ear.
As you stand there, you see her raise a hand over her head, palm skyward, before she yanks on the cord. The yank causes the bowling ball to fall from its perch three stores over her head and plummet towards her. You start to run towards her, only to pause mid-dash as the ball hits the air a few feet over her head, sending out a hexagon of light rippling out from the impact point. The light is bright pink, and has an odd swirling coloration to it, like pearl dust suspended in a fancy bottle of colored liqueur.
"Yes! It worked this time!" She bounces excitedly, pumping her fist, then lets out a squeal and jumps back as the bowling ball falls the rest of the way and almost hits her toes. A hand quickly goes to her nose as though to check her nostrils before she nods in satisfaction.
"You know," you say, causing her to stiffen like a cat at your voice, "it might have been smarter to try something a little less heavy." She quickly turns to face you as you chuckle. "Still, I'm impressed. Psychokinesis, right?"
"Uh, um… you… saw that?" She blushes and shifts about, almost bouncing from foot too foot like she's about to go sprinting.
"Mhmm." You nod and glance over towards the slowly rolling away bowling ball. "Though you're lucky it didn't crack your skull open."
"Hehe, yeah…" she scratches at the back of her head, scrunching her shoulders and sticking out her tongue slightly. "I mean, I would've totally gotten out of the way if I didn't catch it…"
(She's trying way too hard to look cute and endearing.)
"'Catch' might be too strong a word," you reply, causing her to pout.
"You don't have to say it like that…"
"Never hurts to be cautious. By the way, I should introduce myself. I'm-"
"Oh, I know who you are," she interrupts brightly. "You're the lady in charge of that special base. I saw your press conference. I was totally going to take the train over to where you guys are yesterday, but I forgot to refill my card and then my friend Kei called and was like-"
"I don't think I need the whole story," you say, holding up both hands defensively before tucking them into your pockets. "So, do you need help with your powers?"
"Welllll," she says, pulling out her cellphone and flicking a finger across its screen, "I've been, like, reading all these forums on esper stuff and developing your chakras and whatever, but a lot of it is just so much bull, you know? But I figure you guys know what you're doing so yeah, why not? I mean, your stuff has gotta be way cool, right?"
You just nod in response. "I'd have to talk to your pa-"
"Oh, they'll be totally cool with it," she interrupts with a dismissive wave of her hand. "I mean, it's not like they'll care all that much about it. I-"
(Yeah, the overtalking is definitely a defense mechanism.) "I'm still going to have to talk to them due to your age," you interrupt right back. "But they'll likely listen. Though I have to warn you, this is something you'll have to take seriously. I'm not super comfortable taking someone your age in, but it's your choice."
Naoko puffs out her cheeks, then glances down at her hands. "I mean… I figured this sort of thing would happen when I started doing the whole glowy thing… that's what people like me do, right? Be heroes?"
"Hey, it's not a bad line of work," you reply. "Try being a private investigator some time."
"Ew." She sticks her tongue out, then winces. "Sorry, that was rude. So, anyway, I've got some ideas for a costume, so-"
Hoo boy. This is going to be interesting.

The world shifts to a shadowy stage. Then, strobes flash in a brilliant cacophony behind Naoko as she strikes a pose, her face a wide grin with her hands framing her eyes.
"Let's go," she shouts excitedly in English, "shields up, desu yo!" And then,
the music kicks in.
The strobe lights flash as she punches the air overhead, then swings her arms down and summons an opaque hexagon of swirling pink light. She turns, pirouetting and dancing in time to the beat as she does her costume change. Every so often, the camera spots part of her costume: a heavily-gloved hand or a foot clad in a big stompy boot with cute pink laces. The barrier soon drops to reveal her in full costume, a shoulder-length pink wig held in place by a pair of opaque pink goggles, a long flowing white scarf, a pink jumpsuit with padded elbows and knees and a utility belt.
She swings her hands up, summoning a barrier over both palms as she flails her arms in a overly dramatic facsimile of a kickboxing kata, before she trips slightly and starts to lose her balance. Thankfully, she falls back into a leaning stance against a summoned barrier and rights herself.
"Psychic Heroine, Kekkai-Chan!" She hops slightly and does a V-for-victory pose. "En guarde!"
