It Belongs to a Museum

A question: Are we at the phase where we could suggest names for our Liche Priest?

No, that's probably the next vote.

@Boney With all the Arabyan sorcerers being name-dropped and his Detailed Araby knowledge, has the Tutor actually dabbled in Arabyan magic like I-can't-believe-it's-not-daemon-summoning, or is that solely referring to non-magical historical and cultural knowledge of the region?

He'd have some knowledge of Djinn, but he wouldn't be an authority on them.

A couple of those names are actual Chaos worshippers, and I really want to know if the guy is Chaos-curious since it's notably not being considered by the immortality seeker or the guy who would team up with anyone to gank Nagash.

That would be the decision of the voters.

@Boney
Is the knowledge presented in each option the only opportunity to learn that specific knowledge? For example if an option without say… War Statuary is picked, would we have the opportunity to learn War Statuary in a future turn?

The potential will exist to learn pretty much anything over the course of the quest.

I just think this guy would have the most interesting interactions with the setting and hey, for princess voters this guy was close with a disaffected princess, the princess was Nefferata and she is evil, but you can't say he didn't help. :V

@Boney will the characters that aren't chosen exist in quest and be doing their own things?

Like if for some reason why need to gank up on Naggash (maybe to show him in our museum!) would it be possible to team up with the "I really want to kill Naggash" guy?

One question on my mind with the Impudent Tutor is: just how much is this guy's portrayal him being an unreliable narrator? Just... hitting the ground running on that fact, right in his own introduction.

Sure, he says he was the only Lich Priest left in Lahmia out of some sense of obligation, but that also means there was no one else to call him on his story. How much of what he taught Neferatem was the charm and then fear, and how much was uncle and niece in all-but-open collaboration?

Especially given that Knowledge: Vampires (Minutiae) speaks of a very keen insight into them indeed. More than the vampire hunter option, More than most scholars, and probably more than even some very high end vampires themselves.

How much of this is genuine, and how much is the after-the-fact justifications of a guy who does not so much spill the beans, as carry around an opened hopper full of them.

Also, I appreciate that there's a #support-women's-wrongs joke here, and I just want to highlight that too.

I think we can take Boney's word on his motivation for all of it:

Motivation: A simple joy for sharing knowledge.

The Imprudent Tutor absolutely did all of it just because he likes teaching people things and doesn't, in the end, make a lot of distinctions about what those things might be. So...yeah, he's making excuses to some degree, but it's not exactly anything sinister. Which doesn't mean the consequences aren't sinister, of course...

Given that he was not offered the Elixir or he choose not to drink it I think there is pretty firm evidence he was at least not as close as W'Soran who was himself a Mortuary Priest, but also an out-and-out Nagash cultist.

So if (when) Imprudent Tutor wins we can do some "convincing" to get some of our fellow Liche Priests to send us a primer on War Statuary.
Why some may ask, well it would be much easier to share knowledge with the high ground of Throne CRAB.

At every step of the way all of the options have sounded so interesting that I would be happy with any of them winning. I stand by my statement that this is the best quest character creation I have ever seen.

I too like learning about magic.
[ ] History-Maker of Nagash
This is a wonderfully dark backstory.
[ ] Survivor of Bhagar
Revenge isn't meant to be served this cold.
[X] Imprudent Tutor
This guy will Try It and Find Out.
[X] Hunter of the Cult of Blood
I too want to learn about the gods.
[X] Legionary of Setep
Let's do a Night at the Museum.
[X] The Last Firstborn
How to resurrect some gods in a bunch of really hard steps.

He's too much of a menace that I can't not vote for him. I want to see what mess will sprawl out of the museum with him in charge.

First picks: The guys who actually want to info-dump on people (excluding the Nagash fanboy).
[X] Imprudent Tutor
Motivation: A simple joy for sharing knowledge.

[X] Legionary of Setep
Motivation: To spread the glory of Nehekhara at its height, and tales of great leaders that actually go out there and do some leading, unlike some.

Approval: The guys wanting to continue their research into the whole 'live forever, and by comfy doing it' thing.
[X] Student of Immortality
Motivation: Learning about various forms of foreign magic to further the Mortuary Cult's original goal of perfect immortality.

[X] Hunter of the Cult of Blood
Motivation: Wants to learn more about the Gods, Necromancy, and Vampirism, in the hopes of eventually rescuing Khalida.

[X] History-Maker of Nagash
[X] Imprudent Tutor
[X] The Last Firstborn

These are all my favorite options. Especially the first because of its insane antiquity and the third because of its attitude to forbidden knowledge.

[ ] Student of Immortality
This is the most Super Old of the Super Olds. Really wants to do research - the museum is a means to an end.

[ ] Survivor of Bhagar
Maximum "Fuck Nagash!" option. Really wants to recruit for a crusade - the museum is a means to an end.

[X] History-Maker of Nagash
Love the spite motivation here. This is one of the two whose motivations are most directly served by running a museum as opposed to a school or research institute or combat force. He's out to present a specific narrative about a part of history.

[X] Imprudent Tutor
Fun Uncle who teaches too much. Maximum funny shenanigans, seems like the least political option. Really wants to teach - would be just as happy running a school as a museum.

[ ] Hunter of the Cult of Blood
The sad boi. Wants to do research to save (or "save") his sister-in-law - the museum is a means to an end.

[ ] Legionary of Setep
The other one of the two whose motivations are most directly served by running a museum. This guy wants to inspire action by presenting the glories of the past.

[X] The Last Firstborn
Love the idea of wanting to heal the old gods. Specifically mentions finding out WTF is up with Stromfels. Really wants to do research and proselytize - the museum is a means to an end.
