Where did the line I'm quoting come from, and what was the context in which it was stated?
Unfortunately I missed the reference entirely.

This one is entirely off base. Who, of the Yozis can play an infinite waiting game?
Qaf?
It's actually pretty nasty even presently, as Taylor is Essence 3, so she has the ability to deal Piercing Lethal damage with it.
Yep. One of my long time favorites.

Incidentally, is there a Yozi Charm that duplicates the effect of Sting? I've forgotten.

[X]Mind over matter.
--You aren't a trained fighter. You don't have to be. You're smart, and you're observant. Somehow, you can turn that into a strength, find something to let you beat him.

Sting, no. Sting would be an unblockable perfect attack. That ignores hardness AND soak. And disables regen. In a setting with no absolute perfect defenses.

Closest the Yozis get is an attack that totally disables regen so long as the motes are committed.

Duplicate how, exactly? An attack that can be dodged, but not negated by blocking? An attack that forces someone to tank the hit? An attack that can affect someone regardless of state of being (material/immaterial)?

Also, does Oni Lee seem rather dumb here to anyone else? Because going straight to a lethal response when seeing an unknown cape, especially one that could likely be a Case 53, who isn't actually doing anything is rediculous. If she was busting up ABB members it would make sense, but he's trying to kill someone for just being there.

Actually, he's trying to kill her for scaring him so badly that he nearly blew himself up, which is something he'd lose a hell of a lot of face for if anyone ever found out about. Just scaring him would be enough reason for a psychopath like Oni Lee to want her dead or on his side. Her being witness to him acting in incompetence? With no indication that she's a skilled fighter or merits the caution that someone like Lung or Kaiser would? That's a whole other level of NOPE.

[X]Like Poison running through my veins. (Kimberian approach)

Tayor is pitch-perfect Cecelyne, but she's also an excellent Adorjan and Kimbery, and a decent She Who Lives in Her Name.

EDIT: Out of curiosity, is this quest going to literally use Exalted mechanics, or using more general narrative rolls and bonuses with Charms as another factor in those?

Updated the voting options to correct some misquotation and add a couple of new options. Meanwhile, I'll be looking over the Revlid SWLiHN charmset to see about whether we'll use the official ones, that one, or a combination of the two.

So far I've been using a cobbled-together mix. Taylor uses Exalted mechanics. Everyone else operates largely on OWoD mechanics.

canon!Taylor, like Adorjan is the cosmic monkey wrench. She's the complication no one adequately accounts for. She surprises people. Often in really nasty ways.
Specifically, she is "restless, always in motion and never satisfied", and understands "the principle that bad things happen regardless of who you are or how many backup plans you have." She's also very often "the unconsidered variable that shreds the best-laid plans of Yozi and Exalt alike."

It could absolutely be argued that she "scours her enemies, breaking them to enlighten them", and her enemies and victims would certainly argue that she displays "vicious whimsy, especially toward the complacent and comfortable." She likes to think that she spreads "purposeful chaos that exposes the flaws in systems and lays low the proud", and she definitely "abhors chaos for the sake of chaos as much as she abhors stasis."

The fans love the way that Taylor's "a balancing force of wickedness against the excesses of the righteous", and meme over how "no one expects her". She relies on causing "unexpected or sudden harm", and she's dead set on "teaching people to let go of attachments and worries rather than continue meaningless cycles..."

Adorjan is easily just as appropriate to Taylor as Kimbery and Cecelyne, and slightly more appropriate than She Who Lives in Her Name, just going off canon personality and actions. Those four stand head and shoulders over the others.

Found my old analysis of canon Taylor's compatibility with various Yozis.

On a practical level, Kimbery all the way. The girl lives in a bay. She can turn the Dockworker's Union into a fishman cult that hauls great squirming catches from the polluted ocean and pays her homage in turn.

I found your link very informative, but as someone with no actually exposure to Exalted, would you be able to explain Taylor's fit with She Who Lives in Her Name.

Edit: Thank you, and HOLY SHIT that's terrifying. Also, that describes Weaver perfectly, and that scares me.

Honestly, it almost came down to a coin flip which Caste she was going to be. Original debate had been between Scourge with Cecelyne or SWLiHN favored or a Defiler with Cecelyne or Adorjan favored. In the end I decided to go with one of the sanguine Tomescu for a coadjutor for the storytelling possiblities it represented.

Manual of Exalted Power: Infernals said:
The Principle of Hierarchy is methodical and meticulous. She analyzes every variable and chooses the most efficient and orderly method by which to achieve victory. Her utilitarianism is absolute and consistent as clockwork. She is as brilliant as she is alien, cold and unfeeling. Her violence is dispassionate and perversely pure, unmotivated by sadism and yet capable of systematically disassembling every obstacle in her path without the slightest remorse. She builds and improves structures of all kinds and abhors chaos, randomness and free will in all its forms. She finds excessive effort wasteful and prefers to apply the minimum exertion necessary to attain the desired outcome. Her directives are fascist and totalitarian, but ruthlessly fair. She has no moral restraint against deception, nor any attachment to honesty, but her nature must choose the most expedient method even when it is not the solution that best matches her talents. She demands perfection, especially from herself.

Characters may apply this Charm to actions that create new order or reinforce existing order in any way, as well as actions that encourage others to join and loyally follow any hierarchical organization. She Who Lives In Her Name enhances efficient actions that demonstrate appropriate use of force; her power does not aid half-hearted or excessive efforts. Showing empathy for individuals invalidates that action for enhancement, though empathy toward society or another collective structure is permissible. The Charm enhances actions carried out methodically and logically but not improvised or unconventional solutions. Spreading chaos is never allowed, but ineffective organizations and policies may be dismantled to pave the way for a better order.
