"I'm Broken..." [HP/AU]

I doubt it'd be that easy. What are the chances that we will pace back and forth three times, in that exact hallway, in that exact floor, thinking about something that will open the Room? The only feasible way to get access to the Room is to be told by someone. Remember, a lot of the staff probably knows of it (Trelawney in book 6) so we should probably ask some teachers about it. finding a place to practice.

Edit: Probably misleading phrasing

You just need enough need.

Yeah, my point is that needing it while pacing in front of the nondescript wall in a random hallway in a random floor is unlikely to happen unless the author allows us to meta-game. And she won't. I asked.

Is this too meta-gamey? :V

That last part is, you could explore the seventh floor though. There's nothing granting that you will even find the Room of Requirements though.

There. Increases the odds of finding it by about a thousand times. Still nowhere close to being likely.

I don't remember - are we aware of house-elves and/or the kitchen (where they can be found) IC?

I don't think so, no.

Asking a faculty member that's likely to know of it and might be inclined to tell us is still the most probable way of getting in. I just can't think of who or how.

If someone finds a way, I'd vote for that.

Don't know why Alice would do such a thing. There is no IC reason to limit the search to the 7th floor corridor.

Looking for the Room is already metagaming. I just take it a bit further. As far as the QM will allow. Might claim that it's relatively abandoned or something.

Huh, I just looked around because I could have sworn that there was some class on the seventh floor. Go figure that I can't really find that there are any classes above the fourth floor!

Why on earth are there so many floors for this school?

Normally people speculate the school is a lot more empty due to the war....
A bit morbit, but I can see where they are coming from I suppose

You found a ball!
You tell him everything that there is to tell, why you were out here and what happened. You tell him of the demonic energies that had surfaced when you fought the Bean Sidhe, and how it helped you survive the battle. Anything and everything that comes to mind, you tell him. With everything explained to him, Professor Snape told you that you were free to go. Though before you left he told you that if you were attacked again, you were to just run away and not get into some insane event again.

With that said you decided that it would be probably safer to move your exercises inside and away from anything that could be dangerous. Once you cleaned yourself up and re-entered the castle, you set about looking for a place to set up. You walked around the different floors for a while, trying to find anything. You found that most of everything above the fourth floor was abandoned, with a few rooms being used by groups of students for studying. You also found a room on the fifth floor that was a massive ball room, filled with with elegant music and dancing ghosts. You actually sat in there for a little while, just listening to the music. You eventually got into a conversation with Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, who was a kind ghost that lead you to the room that you eventually found.

The room was about three doors to the left of the ball room, and it was a treasure trove for you. Inside of the room was what looked to be an abounded room for exercise of some sort or another. There were various things that you remembered from your own books on acrobatics, though you got the feeling that other things had nothing to do with acrobatics, such as the dumbbells. You thanked Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington for showing you the room, which he in turn thanked you for not referring to him by his nickname.

Looking through the room you figured that a lot of this stuff was still in very usable condition, and so you set to work. Over the next few hours you started to organize a lot of the equipment, trying to figure out what was where and what could be used. In the end you figured that you had a decently set up room, one that would give you everything that you needed for your exercises. Not only that but you were apparently welcome to join in on the ball in the other room whenever you would like.

With the room set up you thought on what you wanted to do next.

What do you want to do over this weekend?

Sadly I can't find a good picture of a ballroom filled with ghosts, so I don't have a picture for it in the Faces and Voices. I do have a picture of for Sir Nicholas that I really like though, so he's already in there.

Also, I'm sorry that this update has been short. Along with how inactive I've been over the last month, my life has been a little crazy right now. Hopefully things calm down for me so I can do more stuff here, or to the other quest I'm going to start up. Whenever that happens, going need to do some work on figuring out that quests system.

Anyways, hope you like the update. It was nice to get to write again, I really missed doing this quest.

Thinking about it, one skill that I'd like to get long-term is painting. And then learn magic to infuse our nightmares and hallucinations into our pictures. We could get started via creepy doodles in the margins of our history notes.
For now though, dancing is good too. Plus making friends! That just so happen to be ghosts instead of students like the friends of all the normal kids are. Oh well.

could we make living paintings of the voices in our head?

Alice just put in a bunch of effort to get a new place to practice this, so might as well.

I'll just assume we have multiple actions. We have an entire weekend, after all.
