Hyrule Warriors

I'd love it if the Sages from OOT are playable. We'd finally get to see the power of a Sage in action. Impa's playable, so there is hope for this...

More details
Some new Hyrule warrior details. I think they may be translations of the offical japanese site.
And some new screenshots.

Rod

- Link's Rod is a magical weapon capable of producing flames
- It's capable of shooting flames at a large mass of enemies in a wide range
- The Rod will change form depending on the attack method

Zelda

- During the sudden crisis in Hyrule Kingdom, Zelda commands the troops while standing directly on the battlefield
- Dignified beauty with a noble and royal atmosphere
- Zelda has calm eyes capable of assessing the course of the war, calmly defend, and bravely attack
- Uses a rapier as her weapon
- Fights in a flowing manner without wasting a single motion

Midna

- Fairly minded personality, sharp tongue
- Midna's gentle on one side, but she's also a strong female lead
- Cia has altered her appearance
- Midna's currently hunting for Cia to regain her original form
- Midna fights while riding a Shadow Wolf created by magic
- Can ride the wolf straight into the enemies
- Uses her hair to form hands to viciously strike her enemies or pick them up and fling them away

Palace of Twilight

- Hyrule Kingdom exists as the World of Light
- Another world exists as the Twilight Realm
- The Twilight Realm's royal family lives in this palace
- The residents of the World of Light and the Twilight Realm are unable to travel into each other's world, but the two worlds have connected again with someone's magic

Eldin Volcano

- Sparks fly constantly inside the cave of this active volcano
- With nowhere left to go, lava can erupt straight from the walls, interrupting anyone's path with naturally produced sea of flames
- Mining have been regularly conducted in the back of the cave, in order to collect good quality ore

Enhancement Items:

- These can appear when you defeat an enemy, or they may appear if you break pots
- Pick one up and the power of an item will increase for a certain amount of time
- The powered up bomb will allow you to blow away large amount of enemies

Multiplayer

- One player plays on the GamePad
- The other uses the Wii U Pro Controller or a Wiimote/nunchuck for the TV
- This will allow players to control their characters on their own separate screens

Weak Point

- With strong enemies such as King Dodongo or Lizalfos, there may be opportunities to strike them back after the enemy uses specific attacks
- This opportunity is considered as the weak point
- A gauge will appear on the screen
- It's possible for the gauge to reduce when you're exposed to an attack, so feed the gauge for a "Weak Point Smash" before it runs out
- One of the weak point opportunities is when King Dodongo opens his mouth
- If you throw a bomb in there, there will be a huge explosion in his belly
- This will transition into a Weak Point opportunity after this occurs
- Strike repeatedly in order to increase the gauge for a "Weak Point Smash"

Wait...

This might be something that was expected for people who knew... anything, really, at all about Dynasty Warriors (which I don't), but this game is getting...

Multiplayer?

Like, we could have Link and Zelda Midna fighting side by side, one player getting control of each? Locally? And not split screen?

I THOUGHT THAT MY HYPE COULD NOT POSSIBLY INTENSIFY EVEN FURTHER!

Oh yeah? We might even be able to play as Link and Ganondorf side by side! This franchise allows you to play as the villains, and considering that Ganondorf is confirmed to appear...

...It's Dynasty Warriors with a Legend of Zelda skin. You know exactly what you're getting into if you've played even a single Dynasty Warriors.

Yeah, I think I played a demo for a Dynasty Warriors game... years ago, really.

So I have no idea what to expect.

Multiplayer hadn't even occurred to me, honestly.

The first thing so many people are going to do when they see Cucco is going to be to hit them. So many people are going to die to chickens!

I don't think you're giving the game quite enough credit.

"Behind that objective was a small cave that led to a chest. Zelda never gets to open chests, this Hyrule Warriorsgame is breaking gender molds! The prize wasn't loot or rupees or some piddly crap - it was bombs! If this is truly a Zelda franchise game, I know I'll be able to use those soon. If not, I'll declare this game complete bollocks and be done with it.

Hey look, at the top of this cave, there's some rubble that somehow formed while I was down mucking about with the chest. Can't clear 'em with my rapier. Oh wait a second, I have some explosives, don't I? Well, well, thisis Zelda.

And you know what finally convinced me? After taking out a few more objectives on the map, a huge boss appeared - Dodongo. You know how you kill the massive dinosaur in every freaking Zelda game since the first one? Bombs!

So, in conclusion, Hyrule Warrior is like Zelda. The end."

Just from looking at it's actually pretty clearly a cut above the average Musou game, even Gundam Musou 3.
It's their[Nintendo] Bread and butter, Ford.

If this goes south than Nintendo won't branch out for a pretty long time, however if they do well then we're going to see more creative things.

...

Personally I want a Zelda anime. COME ON NINTENDO, YOU CAN DO IT!

I... wait. Is this a game where the only confirmed playable male character is Link.

This is like a five to one female:male ratio now.

It's pretty cool, but you have to think: Aside from Ganon (and we don't know for sure if they're going to include villains as playable characters), what male Zelda characters would work in a game like this? Ralph, maybe?...Groose? The only one I can really see working is a Goron, like Darunia. Maybe a Zora, but the most notable ones IIRC are Princess Ruto and the massively impractical King Zora. Whereas Zelda, Impa, and Midna were all very logical inclusions for the central roles they play in the games. Agitha...maybe not so much.

I'll be very surprised if Sheik isn't included in some form.

As for male characters... yeah, now that I think about it, there's really not many male, heroic characters in the games. Groose, Ralph, Darunia, maybe Linebeck from Phantom Hourglass.
