Hyrule Warriors

I KNEW IT. I KNEW THE TWILI HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH MAJORA'S MASK!

Also, fuck yeah. Everything's coming up Nintendo!

Also Also: If the soundtrack from the game is anything like what was displayed in the trailer then I'll be buying the shit out of whatever it is that lets me get it.

Midna playable.. Awesome! Wonder if we'll only see her in imp form in this?
This gives even MORE hype for this game!

You know I really hope my Zelda Ideas, Recs, and Discussion thread get's transferred over in the next few days.

Because I get the feeling that the more we find out about this game the more discussions and "story ideas" it is going to inspire.

Honestly the more we find out about it the more it looks like "this game is being mad of Fanservice for those who love the Zelda Series".

It should be interesting to see if they really can pull it off.

I really can't wait for it's panel at E3 on Thursday.............

I'm not sure about all the hype for this game. It's literally Dynasty Warriors with a Legend of Zelda skin. Now, some people may enjoy that. But I find Dynasty Warriors to quickly get repetitive after less than an hour of play. It's a chore to play. Maybe it's worth a rental, but not much more.

Midna using The Moon as a Move?

.... Okay, now the only thing that can physically make me want this game more than now is one between Ravio/Yuga/Hilda as playable character.

Apparently that was not so much a Midna move as some sort of powered up Hookshot move?

Yeah. After Midna's magically enhanced Hookshot failed to take the dragon out of the sky, The Great Fairy from Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask shows up and offers a helping hand.

On a different note. During the playable Demo, there were nine slots on the character select screen. So, do we have any speculation on who the other half of the playable cast is?

The plot synopsis makes me uncomfortable.

Lady wants Link so bad she became susceptible to evil manipulations even though someone in her position should be, you know, competent and level headed. Just, ick. That's all kinds of old timey wrongness.

Also, why does evil always make you dress sexy? Why can't the heroes be the kinky ones fighting against the conservative horde? :p Harrumph I say.

Welcome to Japan! Where the technology is twenty first century, the people are early twentieth century, and the culture is nineteenth century!

They could at least give the evil guys revealing outfits too! Come on Nintendo, if we can get that much girl chest we can get at least a little skin from your guys too! Like, even a tiny bit.

Villains maybe? Ganondorf is almost a certainty.

Ghirahim called. Also what half the cast of Fire Emblem. Attractive to ladies isn't naked boys.

Hi, I'm a lady. Adult male bodies are hot. Do you think hetero and bi women aren't attracted to naked male bodies?

The "women like men in clothes" and "men like women not in clothes" thing is complete bullshit. Tends to be that both like both, but men in games are designed to look tough while women are designed to look sexy, and that's a problem if its that stark.

And Ghirahim wasn't hot. He was creepy looking other than in his final form which looked kind of cool. And what does the cast of Fire Emblem have to do with this?

Edit: Here's the thing. Men's character designs are built to look cool and make the player feel cool. Women want this as well. As it is, female character designs tend to be eye candy that just looks silly and impractical instead.

Now, we are getting that from Impa, which is awesome, but its just funny how on the badguy side the girl goes evil and barely wears anything, while the evil guys are fully armed and armored. I guess evil makes women dress sexy and men dress in darker colors?

And if you wanted to use an example of a hot clothed guy in games, you could have just pointed at this game's Link. Still, the paradigm you suggest is inaccurate.

Because male characters have to be able to be redeemed in the sequel if the player base finds them cool enough. Female characters are just gonna get stuffed in the fridge if they have a redemptive moment.

This is a real trend, and it makes me sad.

Look to the upper left of that picture, then to the lower right, just above that girls spell.

Upper Left-Skyward Sword Stalfos.

Lower Right-Ocarina of Time Stalfos.

So it looks like "different iterations" of enemies are confirmed as appearing.

As for the girl herself she is likely related to Cia, either as a fellow "attendant" of the Triforce in training or a relative. She does have the same feathers bound in her hair so there is likely to be some form of connection.

Also while not Hyrule Warriors I just have to post this. The Palutena Smash Brothers Reveal gives us all a look at what we have dreamt of for sometime, what a Legend of Zelda Anime version of Link would look like.

Why do you tease us Nintendo, why?!

Now how much would we pay simply to see a game with cutscenes that have those kind of visuals?

I think it would work best with a "remake" of the original Legend of Zelda which does not include much dialogue like the original and just has cutscenes to "expand" on the plot in order to keep things as minimal as possible.

There are no lack of bad boys in dark sexy outfits in games. The naked male body is attractive, yes, but in code aside of *just* sex it usually means primitive. (See the Gorons, or other lesser class Zelda or game men) A woman in less clothes not necessarily. Its not complete bullshit but a trend. I mean women (and gay and bi men) like them a man in good swimwear. or good man in swimwear or.. anyways I am not going to say you need to like the evil sexy sorceress but at the least its not just "be naked" the assymetrical nudity and and posture and mask shows someone deliberately removing their identity to be something more. Its a costume one side in rich cloth the other in precious jewelry (and her own skin) but no face but a predatory (and aware) smile.

Moreover she's not the ONLY woman in the game, heck she's outnumbered three to one on the bad to good girl side. Midna's naked (and impish/young why does no one complain about her, and her 'real' form not that much more conservative either), and I find Impa and Zelda's outfits more weird. Impa's this super ninja, not a dark sorceress in constant display of her command of magical forces, why the restrictive pile of plate arms and she still leaves her chest open for a sword attack. Ditto Zelda. So we have two ladies in impractical outfits. Admittedly only DW aesthetics (always need a fluttery thing and gaudy pile on in the vein of Chinese traditional pageantry/opera) justify Link's scarf and need to backflip.

So sexy isn't evil -two women are and they are good and likely of higher rank and just as martially capable
Sexy isn't personality destroying - I see magical seductress, she is a magical seductress trading in repression and duty for sensuality and malice and darkness
Males are ridiculously attractive (tell me link doesn't look ready for photo shoot) or just silly looking took (at least she looks like she can move in her Xerxes from 300 meets Eyes Wide Shut Gear, what's the evil general doing without open eyes in assymetric stuff)

Not to mention this is a little late to be complaining about naked magical ladies in Zelda (I guess not looking pancake makeup counts for alot) especially magical darkskinned women with large breasts and spine destroying posture (have you SEEN the offical art for Twinrova AND Nabooru) She's a dark sorceress so her motives are classic, me wants love and power I'm not supposed to have so I go bad and dress wild to get it. Same as Zelda is the noble princess (opera gloves... REALLY) I'm also digging her bodywork.

Mind I am not going to go more original for her than I would yet another heavset secondary black guy in the military. But I don't think you should hold it against the game unless we reach Prototype II levels abominable characterization and wasted opps

Think it through. Zelda has an entirely silent protagonist and tends to be light on dialogue in general. The anime would likely be a huge bore.
