[X] Watch the tourney.
[X] Pyrrha Nikos, "The Invincible Girl." Despite being a three-time tourney winner, with odds shaping this tourney up to be her fourth, very little is known about the girl herself. Fights using a rifle/spear/shortsword formshift weapon and shield. (Opponent: Adi Berhanu, odds 10:1, fighter's favour.)

Man am I glad we got Ironwood, he's honestly the only person in Atlas's command structure I would ever trust with the knowledge of our semblance.

I hope we can work with him in the future.

Well that event took a fun turn. Also since we record everything we can print a picture of Ironwood's face when he was getting schooled bye Blue and later sell/trade it to Crow when ever we meet the Drunk. I'm sure he'll love it. :drevil:

Okay, so it was James, meaning we probably wouldn't have been shot dead just for being a disrespectful cuss.

Hey blue says their still figuring out turbulence... could we have the transistor draw up the math for that then publish/patent it? Poke in Jame's eye and the money from that will have us set for a good while.

Oh yeah, there isn't a moratorium.

Also, it's a bit of a nitpick but this bugged me.

Because honestly, what the shit? The entire reason we had a gun to our back is because we agreed to go on their AI hookup.

Irritation Follows
Is this blaming Jaune for not noticing Ironwood or being able to keep cool with a gun to his back? Well then I guess we'll just have to always write-in that Jaune's constantly keeping ()Scan active and to bolt the second anything weird comes into range.

It just leaves me feeling damn peeved that Blue would even imply a debt when this entire situation was their fault. I get that they didn't mean it seriously, but it still leaves me feeling decidedly... bleh.

Moving on, nothing but a little rant I needed to get out of my system. It's not even that important and I may just be seeing things that aren't there but... ehgh.

This is a hard choice.

On one hand we can review the combatants with our recordings and learn a few thing with a bonus of being prepared to fight them incase we meet in less friendly terms....Like how we meet any many important/powerful people.

Also gives us a IC reason to figure out Pyrrha's semblance. Because I doubt that the combined efforts of Jaune and his AI companions won't figure it out.

But the counter to this is we can simply watch it later because after all I figure that any real tournament would have recordings of their matches, and besides this is time to hang out and have fun with Penny.

I'll go with this for now.

[X] Nah. Move along.

"It's for you." DC 3, Roll: 19 - 3 = 16.
... ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME-
That's a really low DC, I'm guessing we would've passed a bunch of the other suggestions as well. Would the DC for "my AI wanted a date" have been the same as the default "The Truth- just start talking and don't stop until he takes the gun away from your chest or you're dead." option?
You watch with some amusement as both Penny and Cell gawk in obvious wonder at some of the Grey Era weapons on display- crude, by today's standards, but of a quality that you can only get with handmade weaponry.
Which era is Crocea Mors from?

Don't lose Pyrrha. Or Jaune will have to live in a cardboard box. Not really.

"... Alright then. Let's talk," he says

"Mmhm," he grumbles,

So, yeah, had to third-wheel for them if I didn't want to die," you tell him, pulling the gauze patch back down.

"... Hrm," he mumbles,

If you'd waited for all of ten minutes you wouldn't be drowning out every radio signal within a mile radius!" he hisses

"Sternum," she says,

Five hundred years," he repeats breathily,

"Excuse me, everyone!" a small woman in a staff uniform says,
There's a consistent punctuation mistake you're making while writing dialogue. When there's a said-equivalent verb present, like "says", "grumbles", "exclaimed"...the dialogue tag ("he said", "she said") and the actual line of dialogue are one sentence. This means ending the dialogue line with a period is wrong, since that splits the sentence into two.

so
is wrong, and
is correct.

This also applies when dialogue lines end in non-commas like exclamation points and question marks.

so
is wrong, and
is correct.

That said, I've been enjoying reading this quest. There's a severe dearth of anything Transistor-related in terms of competently-written fanfiction.

While we know Pyrrha wins based on meta knowledge, that may not apply here. That's not a good matchup for her, as her opponent doesn't have metal weapons.

Because I kinda want to know what the gang is up too/check on the Waifu's status/maybe eventually consider inviting Penny to it in order to encourage her development.

The laconic version would have been slightly less difficult, because it got everything he needed to know out in a short sentence, as compared to rambling and possibly tripping over yourself.

The DC is that low because it involved a complete shifting of responsibility- namely from Jaune to Blue. All he had to do was convince Ironwood to take the phone call, something a cryptic 'it's for you' would probably bait him into doing.

The real reason that Blue stepped in is because Jaune could not get a word out. If he had, then yeah, you'd be on your own. Honestly, I just eyeball DCs, and the reason I made that one so low is because ten words that explain nothing, and have no purpose but to bait Ironwood into answering the call, versus a longwinded rambling explanation of his life story...

...Ok, this has fucked with me before, but I know it's more of a culture thing than anything so I'll ask- is this a vote for ten Lien, or ten thousand Lien? It should be obvious, I know, but humour me, I just got up.

... Huh.

Good to know.

Did we blue screen Ironwood at the end there? It feels good.
Your sword told a man aware of Salem that the tech needed to begin to build it is half a millennium off, when the most optimistic predictions of humanity's downfall that he has to hand give them... maybe a century before the Grimm finally finished the job.

That was a simulation without the fall of Beacon, without Breach happening, without a Maiden having her soul ripped in half...

Blue just told the general of the Atlesian army that humanity would fall ten times over before they could get on a single teenage Huntsman's level.

Frankly, I'd need a freaking drink too.

Just how badly could this have gone? If we had crit-failed again, would James really have shot us and how big of a disaster would that have been for everyone? Traumatized Penny, traumatized Jaune, wounded or maimed Ironwood, big diplomatic incident, stuff like that?
... Huh.

Good to know.
It's one of those grammar rules that most people don't care about, but some people feel really strongly about.

At least he knows to come to us for help if he ever has computer problems.

All things considered, this went pretty well.

What exactly were the other possibilities of the 1d20 roll after Confession()? Would Ironwood always have shown up here and the crit-fail only determined his reaction or could we have dodged him entirely?
Also, it's a bit of a nitpick but this bugged me.
