New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

-----------------------

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

I'm not necessarily interested in the Blood of Gold for its own sake or to have my Good Seed necessarily have it. I'm just looking for some big sweeping thing my Good Seed can work towards for the good of the clan, from mitigating/removing the speed loss of the Blood of Bronze, to finding a way to destroy the big fancy thing that lets the 5th sea send cultivators at us every 100 years, to figuring out why the hell their cultivators are apparently all stronger than ours and how to fix that, to traveling to a new sea and founding a branch of the clan there in hopes of bettering the fate of the clan. Like, there's gotta be something big and fancy to work towards, and the first thing I thought of was removing the weakness. Somehow or other.

In all honesty, this can be anything. A lot of seeds have already had arrays saved in jade slips by the clan, another good chunk revive ancient bloodlines - hell, from a very mundane point of view Tasos is going to write a cultivation manual so that others can use his style of archery-assisted meditative body cultivation.

This is a large sandbox - so long as Occip says yes, anything could become help for the clan as a whole while being an objective.

I think I saw a few of those, the things that get added to the Clan Library for techniques or the like?

Yeah there can be a lot of stuff added to the Clan Library. Xiao Yi's done some work there with his Formations, and adding to the library is basically my Big Goal with Ferenike for now with the various things I'm working on as long term projects.

Some important stuff that was discussed in the Discord. I think not all of the Good Seed Authors are in there. Quite likely this will be the system going forward, but @occipitallobe is asking for critique in the Discord. I'm sharing it here as well incase anyone thought of something that all of us in the Discord missed

(1) Health system is the same but with LST now improving two steps. Healing treasures heal 3 steps.
Steps are: Dead-Crippled-2TurnWound-1TurnWound-ThisTurnWound
(2) Fate is reworked with less wounds to allow for inferior LST and healing.
(3) Cool Things and Fighting Across Realms are gone. They become Effective Cultivation Boosts.
(4) Effective Cultivation Boosts will be explained below.
(5) Secret Realms are once per Great Realm.
Effective cultivation boosts are year boosts to your cultivation.

Examples:

(A) You have 100 years of efffective cultivation boost as a Qi 1 cultivator.
You are boosted to (21+100) 120 effective cultivation age

Making you the equal of a Qi 10.

(B) You have 220 years of cultivation as a Late FB cultivator and keep your 100 years of effective cultivation(edited)

You are boosted to (220+100) 320 years

This keeps you in Late FB but a very strong one.(edited)

(C) You have 260 years of cultivation as an Early FB cultivator

You are boosted to (260+100) 360 years

This makes you equivalent to a Great Circle FB

EDIT: I can try to answer to the best of my knowledge on how this system works.

Why? This was the original part that made Good Seeds worth writing for. Without these, only LSTs, Healing, and Cultivation Boost are left.

They still exist, they're just being folded into something that's more easy to handle for the purpose of delegating Fate results to other volunteer writers.

Because eyeballing everything bit by bit becomes unwieldy with 50+ Good Seeds running around, and that means we need a unified standard to hand over to other fate writers instead of the usual ad-hoc thing that was being used up until now. Cool Stuff and Fighting Across Realms are too fiddly in nature in their original state, so they're being revised as a general "You fight at X years of cultivation higher than your on paper state, with occasional conditions that make them count for more", which is especially good at hitting new realms running and can mitigate how hard you get dunked on if your fate has you in a cage match against someone a realm above you.

It's a consequence of the story getting too big for one person to handle all the fiddly bits, without shutting down the primary draw of the game.

Mochi could have quoted more clarifications of those, I think, but maybe he was in a rush.

Basically, Cool Things are still Cool Things, and you can fluff them how you want. They aren't entirely mechanical either, since Occipital will still take the specific type into account given the situation. They're just not called Cool Things anymore since they've been folded with FAR.

All the Effective Cultivation Boost is meant to do is a way to make the mechanics more hard so writing Fates can be more easily delegated. Prior to this, the results were a lot more arbitrary, which is fine when Occipital can handle everything, but isn't when things scale up.

I'm sleepy lol. Since you guys are online, TAG for any questions. Sleep time now

The TL,DR is the following:
-Healing is now streamlined so that getting hurt isn't worse than dying, and LSTs are less absolute.
-Cool Things and FAR Treasures now are less 'this makes you nebulously sorta better' and instead equate to a 'boost' in cultivation (you are x amount of cultivation years over your stage) - but really, they're still the same in fluff. They're the same thing, just with numbers.
-Fate is less swingy
-You can't farm secret realms - you get one entry per realm, per name-stage of cultivation. So one Qiguai, one Yuan, etc.

The general idea is 'streamline the system and polish out the numbers so that the rampant escalation that happened for this quest becomes actually manageable'.

Plus it allows for actual delegation of Fate Rolls to the volunteer gang because when you have four or five different people writing up results for ten/fifteen people each, you don't have to fear rolling up a writer who's conservative on prizes.

I will add that Effective Cultivation Boosts is a tad misleading as a name, as it implies it effects your cultivation where as it doesn't, a 1st HS cultivator is still 1st HS with a +100 ECB. it only changes what cultivation you can act on, eg letting you fight a 10th HS cultivator on equal footing.

Wouldn't "Effective Cultivation Level" make make more sense? Calling it a boost makes it sound like it effects your cultivation rolls instead of your fate rolls. Or maybe I'm just missunderstanding?

Edit:
Wait no, ECL would be the total of whatever your "real" cultivation is and the ECB. Boost still feels confusing as it sounds like its effecting your cultivation rolls though.

Otherwise these changes seem cool. Just kind of awkward on that one bit of phrasing.

does it work as if you'd stayed a QI cultivator or would it bump you up to the next type of cultivation? Assuming you were near enough for that to be a possibility?

ECB in themselves don't push you up to a new Great Realm, but that's mostly because Great Realms include miscellaneous benefits that are just straight up not available at the lower levels, that can't be matched by sheer power alone. Foundation Establishment's speed and stamina, Core Formation's thinking speed and regeneration, and Nascent Soul's fucking everything.

Jumping the Great Realm divide requires extensive levels of cheating, like Single-Pillar Foundation Establishment, or something like Xiao Yi's megaspear which is the crystallization of several potent treasures into a single ultimate weapon and tends to be incredibly chancy even if you can technically do it (Xiao Yi's megaspear can't help him if he can't hit the guy hard enough to put them down before they start kiting him for instance). It's also straight up impossible to cross a Great Realm barrier when it involves moving from one set-of-three to a new one (Core Formation to Nascent Soul cannot be crossed no matter what. At best, stacking a pile of outrageous cheats just means you can survive contact with an angry Nascent Soul long enough to escape or make them get bored of chasing you.)

I do agree that the name Effective Cultivation Boost is a bit confusing (I at first, thought that it is actually just a cultivation boost) but it's not a major problem and otherwise the changes themselves seem fine , I just have one question, what is the numerical value of the omake cool thing reward in Effective Cultivation Boost?

I'm kind of playing around with the idea of seeing if we can get the name changed to Impact Increase, since the whole point of this is figuring out at which point a specific character is doing enough that it matters on the geopolitical level the main narrative focuses on, and then to what degree.
