New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

-----------------------

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

Aditi, the one that got killed, apparently had lots of Good Luck remaining. Will that possibly mean that by killing her, her killer gains Bad Luck in some sort of proportion to what Aditi had (presumably scaled back since Aditi is a lower leveled cultivator in comparison)?

I'm so worried now, I think I only wrote about 3k, it's a lot for me but nothing compared to the monsters

You should be cool! As long as you have a LST you should make it without much danger. I mean i wrote purely cus i was inspired and the whole reason my good seed is making a risky choice is because of where the Omakes took him so ya know.. :V

Thread mood: DOOM

Anyway, on the topic of wishful thinking, I wonder whether Brigu's plotline might actually be setting us up for something positive.

After all 'the heavens are fair to all their children'. Now Golden Devils aren't Heaven's children and thus all the bullshit, but the 9th prince is.*

Normally, one of them one of them breaking the rules to try and punch down and kill a golden devil just gets booted off the trial. But this is one of theirs coming in to break the rules and assassinate someone 3 whole realms below them, who is a child of their heaven. The heavens might be forced to do something to balance the scales and provide us breathing room.

*I don't think he's been formally adopted yet.

Year 99 - Kill Six Hundred Thousand Demons
The bells clanged.

Manuel felt it shrieking in his soul, the alarm he had heard fourteen times before. The first time he had been but a mortal boy, living in the foothills of the great mountains.

The second and third he had been a Qi Condensation cultivator, fighting desperately to survive, thrown callously into the front-lines to die to preserve better talents. He had hated the Elders for that then.

He wished only that when his Optimatoi reached his own level they would understand what he did, and why.

Fourteen trials he had survived, though the last few he had not been hunted. The enemy did not bring Nascent Souls, did not bother. Some rule, some pattern, something he did not understand.

Spirit Severing, yes. Nascent Soul, no.

He sat and meditated in the Dawn Fortress, the bells screaming in his ears, in his mind. The fear of being a young boy, about to die. He remembered being run through by one of their spears, crawling for days on his belly to find water. Finding the Ten-Soul Butcherbird Oasis, and drinking the water. The transformation, the horror of being a thing half-bird and half-man for nearly fifty years.

The loss of his ears in Core Formation, and having new ones carved and grafted onto his skull. Over the centuries his Blood of Bronze had become thick enough to accept them, and he had once again had ears in truth. They had tortured him, then, fighting a small tournament amongst themselves for the right to kill him. He had managed to shatter seven tokens in a single strike, waiting through the weeks of torture and the tournaments for the perfect moments. He had survived it, and used the treasures taken from them to enhance his cultivation. One was his very own Cleaver, a treasure forged by a Spirit Severing Fifth Sea cultivator, though it was an imperfect thing. Apparently it had been a mere practice attempt to entertain the cultivator's grandson.

For all the tortures and the misery throughout the lower stages, Nascent Soul had been worse.

All the power in the world, and if he moved a finger he would doom the Clan. Watching and waiting by the side as his juniors perished one after the other, unable to act. Unable to do anything. He could shatter mountains, slaughter armies, and boil lakes into steam, all with less effort than it took an ordinary mortal to complete an ordinary day's work.

Yet he was helpless.

He hated the Trials. Other things could be borne, but this... this was not merely an injustice. It was an injustice for which Heaven itself deserved to burn. Deserved to be defiled, corrupted, darkened. Others despaired of the death of the Turtle Child, but Manuel understood. He understood what rage perhaps had driven the man who had named himself Soup Chef, in mockery of the world itself. If the world stood against you, why not slay it?

Why not kill until nothing was left to kill, to burn and pillage and murder until your rage that could never be fulfilled was satiated?

For him, it was those he protected. For others... he was not about to embark on the path of madness. But he understood the impulse.

The bells rang again. Once, for Qi Condensation.

He meditated some more. A week passed, and he assiduously did not look to the skies. Did not search out information. Did not take a single action that could be construed as helping his juniors, and did not look. Looking was what had killed Alexios. Imperator above, while he had loved his teacher more than he believed it possible to care for a human being, Alexios had been too soft. Manuel knew in truth that Alexios's failure was not in saving his grandson. It was in looking. If you were tempted, you had already lost. To place yourself in the position of temptation, that was the point of failure.

A second bell. Foundation Establishment.

He meditated further. A month, this time.

A third bell. Core Formation.

Four months passed after this. The Contribution Board terminals here had been disconnected, and he was unable to repair them. Not for lack of skill, but lack of parts. Better to have the temptation removed from him, he had told the Council. He would not look, and he would not be tempted to save his Clan. Let them die, as he could do nothing. Let not his desire to save them lead them all into ruin.

A fourth bell.

No.

No.

He felt their auras, superior to his.

Flying towards the Dawn Fortress at a rate he doubted he could match.

Nascent Soul.

This wasn't really meant to be an update as such, but I had to integrate rolls and such into an overarching plotline, and it all just fit, so I thought I'd do a brief... introduction to the Trials tonight.

Oh wow, Manuel has been through some serious SHIT. But it's nice to know that there are chances to get loot from the Hunters. From what's mentioned, it seems like the teleportation upon breaking the tokens is instant?

So that will cause them to leave behind anything not on their body?

Whelp. I hope this is cus of the Ninth Prince situation and not a attempt to gank our only Nascent Soul.

So multiple Nascent Souls? Maybe this is a "complaint" regarding all the preparations made to weather this Trial, and sending Nascent Soul instead of Soul Severing is some sort of loophole/face/de-escalation.

From the sound of it, they're here to seek out and kill him, yeah, without engaging Manuel. Which is, eh, troublesome. We don't exactly have any means to stop them, since by Manuel's own admission they're stronger then he is.

faster, not stronger.

Also we have Home Field advantage, along with the comfort of having chosen Manuel as having the most combat experience possible.

Sounds pretty definitively like, at least in terms of raw power, they're superior to Manuel. We might outclass them in combat experience and have a home field advantage, of course, but it doesn't exactly sound like the odds are in our favour regardless.

Well i mean if Manuel dies here then whatever preparations we chooses for the Trials won't have mattered since all the plans were for cultivators below Nascent soul. I don't think the quest balance will tilt that far, so i guess i'll just wait till the next update

Alastor Cheimos [DEAD] - Good Seed Background
Alright, let's try this out.

Good Seed Submission:
Alastor Cheimos
Age: 16
Cool Thing: Silver Blood

Comes from an offshoot of the clan hitherto thought to be extinct. Some thousand years ago, Cheimas, a brilliant Golden Demon that lost his mind to his tribulations. He hid it well, but only in so much as it allowed for the furthering of his plans. Finding weakness in his blood and in that of his kinsmen, he decided that it was his duty to correct it. Before he was discovered he captured and experimented on many thousands of Golden Demons over the course of a century, reforging their inborn gift, warping them with no consideration for their survival or their suffering. Leaving countless twisted corpses in his wake.

In his eyes, most of these were abject failures, data to be recorded, to be learned from. To the clan, each and every one of them was an abomination; a great shame brought upon them by one of their own. Even if Cheimas had labeled them a 'success', the Silver-Bloods were no different.

Their blood does not offer them the same durability as that of their kinsmen, but it more than makes up for it. Their blood has been infused with purifying and healing the qualities of silver, and so they boast of near immunity to poison, increased resistance to curses and disease, overall increased capacity for healing, and high ki conductivity. These aspects should have been blessings, but instead became a curse. You see, it made their blood extremely valuable as a reagent, and as a boost to cultivators on the Blood Path. They were hunted and then farmed by the Battle Blood Cannibal Sect, presumably to their extinction around 600 years ago.

Cheimas is long since dead, and most of his works thankfully gone, but some 10,000 of these Silver-Bloods remain, Hidden within the domain of the Poison Waterfall. With the passing of the most recent Trial, their acting elder has decided to try at reintegrating with the greater clan. Alastor is but the first step in doing so.

...
Is this fine? I've never really looked all that much into Xianxia but this quest seems fun, so I'll give it a shot. Might need a bit of help with understanding exactly how spells and stuff work, but from reading the threadmarks and a few of the omake, I think I at least get cultivation.

Anyways, I've been sitting on this idea for a bit and thought I'd share it. Hope it's not too much? I'll be writing an omake to expand on the actual character sometime soon.

No worries, the Quest itself is pretty chill on what can be done. You can just as well treat Qi as mana if it makes things easier for you, but a example you might be more familiar with is Chakra from naruto or Aura from RWBY.

It can be used to power both internal and external stuff. Elemental Stuff is possible with it and so is stuff like sword beams. Ideally speaking, you might wanna narrow down a focus for what kind of cultivator the Good Seed is and then give em abilities in line with that theme, a good selection will the options available on the Character Creation Post.

Slight EDIT: I would suggest adding more details about the Good Seed itself since currently the post is about the background of the Clan. Some stuff about his past and why he's chosen or what he can do will give us all a better picture of him as a Char

Well
Woke up
Some pretty neat stuff is happening to the Ninth Prince
This is gonna be fun
GG, i cannot tell the tone of that " fun " is it a Fun as in horrible fun or Fun cus epic stuff is happening? But man, the Ninth Prince's presence sure adds some spice to the Trials!

I wonder if Manual actually feels a bit happy that he is able to at least do something this trial?
