Hereafter [Worm x Fate/Grand Order]

"The Wrong Allfather cont'd" - by Fellgrave
Nice chapter and all, but that preview got me thinking...

The Wrong Allfather

"The Allfather would be rolling in his grave, to see what pedestrian ends his vaunted runes are being used for."

snort

Silence reigned as, one by one, every person within earshot turned towards Taylor.

"Sorry, was thinking of something else," she waved a hand as if to dismiss what happened, only to stop. "Actually, hold on. Can you do truth-zone runecraft?"

The Servant did so, out of curiosity.

Taylor cleared her throat and said, "I witnessed Allfather's successor fight with a dragon and his death against a monster."

The truth-zone glowed true. Everyone silently watched with awe and trepidation. Rika shakily rose one hand.

"Senpai, what kind of life did you have before Chaldea?"

Beside her, Mash is muttering 'wait, then how old is Senpai?'.

"When put into perspective, even I don't believe it."
To add to this, it wasn't just any monster either.

"What kind of monster could kill Allfather's successor?"

"We called it a few names, for a lot of people, it was Leviathan, for others, Jorumungand." Taylor paused for a moment. "Huh, now that I think about it that actually makes a lot more sense. Ah well, Allfather's son was an asshole anyway."

There was a sudden choking sound behind her, but she ignored that.

Emiya stepped up and put a hand on Taylor's shoulder.

"Taylor. Please tell me you were not witness to the final apocalyptic battle with Jormungandr."

"I saw the great beast's destruction. I even played a part in it."

Emiya's grip tightened. "Taylor. You were not at Ragnarok." He moved to stand so he could meet her eyes with a desperate plea.

Taylor scratched at her chin. "Well, it certainly felt like it was the end of times. Pretty sure it was for a lot of people. I even think that universe was written off at the end of it even!"

Through it all the circle of truth continues steadily along. The others look at it and then back to Taylor.

"BULLSHIT!"

And thus begins the reign of Taylor "deliberately misunderstands to ESCALATE her backstory" Hebert.

Happy Anniversary, @James D. Fawkes . I don't know if these omakes were a good gift or not.

"Then…all of those things in the reports I received…"

"Have already come to pass."

Nero's fingers gripped the edge of the table tight, so tight that her perfectly manicured nails scraped along the wood, and the table itself groaned from the strength of her grip.
I Think the roman army is getting some investigations and a purge when this is all over, Nero is an airhead but this is something she will not forget or forgive.

Fun chapter, and congratulations on getting through the first year of writing this story @James D. Fawkes. It's no mean feat to keep to a consistent schedule when it comes to writing.

Like several others mentioned, my mind immediately went for Hadrian's wall as well when it was mentioned. The dimensions sound a bit off, but as a noble phantasm it could've been exaggerated

Whatever wall it is doesn't exactly matter

Fortification+Caladbolg II= Giant crater in the ground.
The thing about Caladbolg is that it's an Anti-Army NP so it lacks some of the karmic weight to break fortifications, even if you overcharge it and Broke it.
That isn't to say that EMIYA isn't the solution. They would need him to project Gram instead.

Like the omakes, guys! Thanks!

I won't confirm or deny the identity of the wall or its owner, though.

As for the court mage, I said that every character I bring in will have a reason for being there and nobody is just going to drop into the plot without me already knowing what they've spent their time doing and how in the Singularity. I will say that this is definitely a canon character and not an OC, so it's a familiar face that you can all celebrate. You won't see Nero's court mage until after they get to Rome, though. Chapter 54 is the one to look out for.

Twenty Pesetas says it's Lev Lainur.
I'll go in a completely opposite direction, and put all of 50 non-existent quid on Archimedes. :p

Addendum: Naturally, this will result in a chain-summoning of one Elizabeth Bathory (Lancer).

Cue ALL the bleeding/shattered eardrums, especially if Nero herself decides to 'contribute'.

gram by itself is effectively just as balmung, an anti-army phantasm, the reason why it is anti fortress with sigurd is entirely due to how he uses it, while he could swing it around and release beams of energy, he figured it'd be more efficient to punch it through something and then releasing the energy. if they got the idea they could get balmung thrust into the wall and then release the beam, all the energy gets focused into one point and it explodes from the inside out with enough force to destroy a fortress. it's the same principle used in anti tank weaponry, punch through the armor, then do the explosion. granted, most people won't intuit that you could grab you long ranged laser beam and make it more effective at destroying something by sticking it through something and activating it, it's not how it's meant to be used, but it works.

It would be great if it was Zhuge Liang (Waver) being actually useful in Septum. Otherwise, my first thought was Merlin, but he wouldn't be actively helping out yet.

The court mage please don't have it be Tamamo-no-Mae while she and Nero have a history -in Fate/Extra- they don't get along.

if i had to make a guess, based solely on the fact the caster seems to know magecraft theory, it could be someone like paracelsus or waver, or a caster from the age of gods, very unlikely to be one of the artist casters (hans, babbage, sceherazade etc) or those who are a caster cause they had some innate ability that qualifies them (anastasia with a familiar, illya with a kaleido stick, nursery rhyme due to her nature etc.). it's likely someone who had actual training in this stuff.
