Compañeros y Compañeras! Tlaloc has served Mexico well, but it is time for the People of Mexico to be given a future they can be proud of, a life worth living! And who better to ensure that the People of Mexico live the life denied to them by Kings, Emperors, and Capitalists than Camarada Zapata?

Unlike EaW and TNO, I know next to nothing about this mod. No secrets, no foreknowledge, nothing. It's an interesting experience.

[X] Petro Chico Took Priority (Steward Of Mexico: Resource Gain Efficiency +8.00%, Consumer Goods Factories -5%, Research Speed -5.00%)

This is for roleplay and practical reasons, actually. Emphasizes the corporate dystopia background of Fallout, while providing us with the means to best serve the people of Mexico.

[X] Tlaloc Prioritized Civilian Production (2 Civilian Factories)

This will have saved more lives in the long run. But I think Tlaloc will be constantly wondering if it could have done more to fulfill the Fourth Directive.

[X] Zapata (+5.00% People Popularity)

I heard some where that Zapata's path involves Soylent Green. Not sure in what way. But no matter; The protector of Mexico serves the people of Mexico. Not a few nobles, or itself.

You may or may not want to leave out the effects of the choices. Just for the joy of people potentially making bad choices instead of min-maxing.

I'll also have to try to avoid the urge to spoil certain things as someone who has already done every Mexican nation with a focus tree, and every path within those focus trees.

And, damn, it's been a long time since I posted in here.

Though if you're going to keep doing OWB even after this run . . .

Just something that might give people an idea of what nations they want to hold off on. I mean, you'll probably have more than enough time to play certain nations as they exist now. Just helpful to keep in mind what nations are due for reworks.

Thanks for posting that, I'd completely forgotten about the roadmap. And I will definitely consider leaving out the effects on some choices, but in this case there's no real harm either way.

Honestly, the thing that I found most interesting when I first heard about the roadmap was that the Chicago Enclave was the powerhouse of the Midwest.

And for those unaware, this is the justification for it.

"Since the Midwest hasn't been a design priority for a while, I hadn't felt pressured to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with them. However, recently after a long discussion with a number of team members, I figured out how I wanted to organize the region.

In essence, the conflict I had when thinking about Chicago was that, to our knowledge, an "outpost" exists there, staffed by the Enclave. How large? We're never told, merely that it exists. The question that faced me was "How would an outpost survive in a city that's dominated by a Brotherhood powerhouse 100 years in the making?"

While I can't go into specifics at this very moment, it was decided that, upon the Enclave and Brotherhood meeting for the first time, the Enclave proceeded to wipe out Bunker Alpha, and occupy it. For all intents and purposes, they "own" Chicago, and have put the Midwestern Brotherhood on the back foot.

This a) makes sense in-lore (them coexisting on each other's doorsteps is insane), b) means I don't need to fret about how to include them next-door to the Brotherhood without them dying immediately, and c) makes the Midwestern Brotherhood's political landscape much, much more interesting."

Certainly going to be interesting to see how it plays into things when they finally get to the East Coast given that the Enclave can take over California and New Reno, is the big dog in the Midwest, and the start date for this mod means the Capital Wasteland Enclave still exists. (This mod starts around 7 1/2 years before the Lone Wanderer exits Vault 101.)

Though with the way they basically unpersoned the Courier it wouldn't surprise me if they got rid of the Lone Wanderer, too. And that's not even getting into the Sole Survivor, who wouldn't even be a thing until 17 years into a game.

They did pretty much say they're more or less ignoring the Canon PCs save for the Chosen One. Which is a choice, not one I personally agree with but I get it to a degree. Personally I'm hoping that years from now when they finally get to the East Coast, there's a submod that has The Sole Survivor and allows them to take control of the Minutemen.

Wouldn't be surprised. There's a sub-mod for the Courier that I haven't tried yet, but which also hasn't updated for Tlaloc's Demise. So a sub-mod for the Sole Survivor and the Lone Wanderer will probably end up happening.

And, well, the game's do provide convenient enough excuses for it. The Courier not surviving that shot to head, the Lone Wanderer failing to escape Vault 101, and, I'd assume, the Institute not feeling the need to bother with a "backup" and letting the Sole Survivor suffocate in their pod like everyone else.

Personally, I'm going to be looking forward to 4.0 a lot if CPF ends up standing for 'Canadian People's Front.'

Sweet, sweet, revenge.

Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma, the Northwest... wait a second is the OWB team implying that the Plains, from Montana and North Dakota to Kansas and Missouri, is all part of the Midwest? That's so wrong I don't even-

It would make more sense to do Louisiana and Arkansas with 3.0 and separate the Great Plains (east to the Mississippi River) and Great Lakes (north of the Ohio, west of the Appalachians) into different updates.

Well, either way we're waiting for votes to be tallied and an update to come . . . Soooooo . . .

Since you've apparently tried it and I haven't, what didn't you like about how the Courier sub-mod handled the Courier, Teen?

Also, uh, Swift . . . If they're going by the Midwest as defined by the Census Bureau, among others . . .

Seems about right to me? Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but isn't Heaven's Gate and the Old Country basically Wyoming, Montana, and parts of Idaho?

My definition of the Midwest drops the western four Plains states, so KC is the farthest west major city in the region. In sports league terms, think Big Ten (before Nebraska Penn State joined and "ten" was accurate), NFC and AFC North (except Baltimore), and AL and NL Central.

Old Country looks like the Spokane area: east Washington and northern Idaho. Heaven's Gate seems to have the rest of Idaho and the northern part of Wyoming. Montana is not currently on the map.

From memory, resources are pretty important for high tech army since they're not just natural deposits in OWB, you also have industrial production of technical components.

As for the leader... How can I pick anyone else?
