I'm partially saying this just because the idea is both absurd and hilarious, but a few of our possible supernatural problems would be solved if we converted Usum to christianity.

This is more about how you interact with your friends at school. If you stonewall them relations might cool off. Being a loner and supernaturally creepy would have its own consequences but then trying to engage will have some as well. It's your call how you want to play this.

I was checking when did Night of the Museum came out, and surprise suprise, the first movie came out in 2006. Lucky coincidence, eh?

This stunt looks more like the third choice to be honest, where you hint and see whos actually curious and observant enough to notice.

Subterfuge seems to just downplay it as mundane not even joking, if I am reading it right.

Hmm, that might be true. I want to find a way for them not to realize that something supernatural is afoot, not trying to reveal them that we've just caused the second coming of Fey Sadako. Now how to downplay it....

Now, I don't know much about America in the mid 2000s. But in the word of Robert Freeman (rest in piece), movie theater food suuuuuucks.

I'm not paying $15 USD for a cup of Popcorn. It isn't even buttered for Lord's sake.

Actually, what was the incident like? Was it actually fire and explosion stuff?

I don't actually remember. If it was, then trying to distract them or mislead their attention slowly from a joking position is a good subterfuge effort.

Yep, coming back to muggle school was a bad idea. As for telling anyone anything, we probably shouldn't mention Splattercon at all. Not only because we don't want to be associated with it in anyone's mind, but also because we didn't bother to check the news to see what is actually being reported.

For all we know, the commonly accepted story could be that it was a case of mass hysteria, a prank gone wrong, a publicity stunt, etc. Muggles in the DF setting are really good at rationalizing supernatural events into mundane, if unusual encounters.

If we've got to be here we might as well make something of the time. Minions aren't going to recruit themselves after all, and I'd bet there are at least a few minor talents around worth poking at.

Starting with the people observant and willing enough to pick up on things isn't the worst way to begin.

Recruitment efforts should wait until we have at least a halfway decent idea of what we are, what we can do, and what we will be able to do.

Sadly, as things currently stand, we barely qualify as proper minion material ourselves. Until we improve ourselves, most if not all of what we recruit will be sub par mooks, or worse, and they'll just be a distraction when we don't have the time or energy to deal with distractions.

Thatch your roof before the rain begins. No one said anything about full-fledged recruitment, but there's nothing stopping we from probing old friends right now.
 
So planning about how to make money to, hire people, fund endeavors etc. If you have enough money you can get stuff done in the modern world.

Running the numbers if we buy 2 dots finance and the excellency just 9xp. Molly would then have effectively have 12 dice for making money on the open market, when the mortal absolute max is 13 dice. Throw in the -2 difficulty from working in a freezer and Molly could easily turn seed money of a few thousand into well over ten thousand in a month.

In the second month Molly starts her own company, and quickly turns that money into several millions, right fast. From their a lot of options open up. We could just hire a few dozen minor talents in the city to work magic for us. Donate to projects like SI etc.
