Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Good for her, it sounds useful

[x][Stunt]"Marcone is a mobster seems only fair to give him an offer he can't refuse."

[X] Tell her to be careful, this is the kind of thing that raises her profile and as the story itself shows, it is the kind of profile some people are liable to treat as a shooting gallery

[X] Ask her not to cut deals with Marcone, it does not seem worth it.

I dunno, I'm with Harry on this. This whole thing seems iffy.

Probably through Wyld Shaping by cutting chunks of Outside and slapping them on Molly's world so it would grow.
That… could work, though it would require diving past the outer gates I think? Which might get people a tad annoyed with us. Though the Fae as a whole would probably like if we continued to rip chunks out of their enemies. We're already sort of friends with both court ladies after all.

Guys? Marcone becomes a Denarian in canon and we don't know how long he had the coin. Please vote to tell Lash to be cautious at least.

-[X] Offer to accompany Lash to any meetings she has with Marcone. It will be a good chance to get a read on the man, and to touch base with Gard.

Show of a united front is not a bad idea.

I mean, if we are allowed to apply IDU, Latter Day Devil Implants, Magnanimous Warding Glyph to clones, the synergy is already there. Yes, it becomes even more expensive, XP-wise, but it's there.
Not really. Those suicide bombs aren't exactly foolproof, and I'm not convinced that any reasonable level of force we give them will let them fight through the problem.

The reason I keep harping on nemesis is not possession - it's that we're talking an archangel peer Outsider, probably descended from Rakasha, with a deep personal hatred of Molly that we're presenting a thematic reversal of the situation that pissed him off at us.

He's going to want the clones so bad it hurts. His average investment level in this at any given moment will be in the ballpark of "they will need to add new chapters to the dictionary to describe what I'm about to do, then redact them them to spare people the San damage".

We're only slightly below that level with Lasciel, and more conventional enemies with the red court.

So when I think about security I'm thinking about that level of focused effort. I think they need as close to a perfect escape home mechanism as can be managed and preferably immunity to both mind control and reading before they can be left out in public even with armed escorts.

The problem with this argument is - what is it going to do with a clone? It can't possess it because celestial exalted, splendors, IPM and other powsible precautions. It can't compel it to spill information because IPM, and suicide contingencies. It cannot even keep it conscious, or suicide triggers go off. What can it do? Torture for the sake of torture? Doesn't work - you need to be conscious to be tortured, and CCC definitely applies, as do suicide triggers. Using the clones as Mystic links to attack us? That's viable, but we have shaping defenses for protection, and the crown of eyes to use on the scene of the attack to learn where it came from, at which point we can retaliate.

What can Nemesis do with our clones?

Edit: also we have our clones' true names. We should be able to track or summon or kill them remotely with magic.

Plus… I think you're ignoring that this is the start of third circle souls so… they might be a *bit* vulnerable to start off, but as we get more primordial they're going to get more and more and more dangerous for enemies like Nemisis to mess with. Especially if we can manage some wildshaping to strengthen Molly's world soul like someone suggested earlier.

Also the passive By Pain Reforged ● which isn't just about preventing wound penalizes, but pain. But the biggest thing is that we have been freely sharing information with Harry. If the Clones are a risk then Harry is a bigger one.

Actually....

Ok, so, the original charm we would have had (Splintered Gale) isn't about third circles, but about stray winds, but Yog did say he wanted to make his clone charm the beginning of a third soul structure.

And while I do think it can work as is for that, what if we used that theme even more?

Make it really a charm about subsouls that are their own beings, and not just clones?

In fact, BronzeTongue's version of the charm, with the intimacy thing, is something in that direction already.

Problem with making them their own person is that this is asking for character bloat though....

That is just fundamentally wrong thou Third Circle are basically an Primordals Intimacies. One of the big things about 3rd is they function as a perfect defense for what the Primoridal cares about, so long as the 3rd exist the intimacy cannot be altered, or changed by anything but the Primoridal themselves. Also worth remembering that as strong as 3rd circles are they are just lesser extensions of the Primoridal. Liger might be an incredible crafts person, but it is because Malfus is an incredible craft person, and Liger embodies that part of Malfus.

Do they need to be their own persons? Molly is new, and without Yozi to mess with her she can go her own way.
Go with some quantum bullshit of how Molly is in multiple places at the same time unless she uses enough Essence to flare her Anima at which point she collapses into one instance.

The thing about primordials is, the reason they have more than one soul is that just one cannot serve all the functions they require, it is the same reason people have more than one kidney or lung. These souls have to be distinct, that is what defines them and their master. Now they do not have to be very distinct to start with, but they cannot just be one person in two places.

What dragonparadox said. It's… the closest analogy I can think of that would make sense in English is to think of them as the facets of a 5th dimensional gemstone being pressed into the fabric of a four dimensional reality. They all *are* part of the stone, but they each have a different shape and are made of different atoms even if they are all, technically, part of the same object.

If that makes any sense?
Like, they are all distinct people, because a primordial's soul is also a world of its own, even while they're all part of one overarching person.

How we turn that into an effective and semi-balanced charm I have no idea though.

Edit: nor how Molly's parents are going to react to their daughter suddenly being 6 or more people.

Good night guys

You might want to consider what you'd like to do in Boston for tomorrow, what sort of people you would like to meet, who you would like to take with you etc...
Well, for myself I want to troll pompous secret societies of mortals. More seriously, check the local dragon nests, see if there's any Order of Cauldron analogs around, possibly drop an agent or two to start checking the situation.

Surprising that no one made use of child coombatants against him given the weakness," Usum chines in,
My guess is that they did at some point while he was still fighting for control of the city's organized crime, but that he made enough examples that people stopped.
What's she going to do? She's been in a coma almost half her life?"
If we're doing this at all I think it's worth bringing up the option of popping her soul out and plugging it into a more appropriate meat suit or artificial substitute.

Essence vessel + arcana worked for Tiffany, and with her assistance it seems plausible we could make something more biological.
By this metric, we're already viewed as associated with Marcone. Remember, most people think that "mob enforcer for Marcone" either is or recently was Harry's main job.
Reinforcing this impression isn't going to help and may tip plausible deniability into actionable suspicion.

There is also the fact that for a long time the entrance to undertown we used was guarded by Marcone's goons, who greeted us going both ways. I think we use a new entrance now though?

Alright, trying to stat the 'training' skil rewiring charm as well as throw a new one out.

Rebirth Learning Trance ●
The infernal bestows a gift a gift of peerless instruction upon a group of mortals, giving them bursts of inspiration to move in a new direction with their lives.
System: The infernal spends an essence, selects 5 abilities of their choice, and spreads their power to up to five willing recipients. For the next five days, these five individuals go through life in a dreamlike trace, taking a -1 dice penalty to all actions for the duration, as they regularly see visions of learning in the Cities most appropriate for whatever skills are selected. Each day they gain 1 dot in each of the 5 selected abilities, while losing 1 dot in every other ability, to a minimum of 1 dot.

I wanted to make a type of 'training' charm in the theme of rebirth of the five cities, but decided that anything Molly would have to commit to much time to would have to be a stronger effect then I am looking for. So its more of a blessing, with some infernal side effects.

Sealing The Prison Gates ●●●
The infernal makes a single motion and declares with their power that none shall escape under their watch as warden.
System: The infernal targets one structure either within their vision or that they are standing within and spends an essence. Immediately, all portals (doors, windows, hatches, and magical gateways to other realms) within the structure immediately slam closed and stay sealed. The local gauntlet's rating within the structure increases by (Essense), and any attempt to force their way out of the structure takes a (Essence) DC difficulty increase as the structure in infused with the Infernal's will to imprison. This effect lasts for a single scene.

Had a few ideas on how to make a very 'great prision' themed charm, and this is what I ended up with, something that co-opts other stuctures to turn them temporaraly into 'an inescapable prision'. Obviously useless outside, and very strong if already in a prepared space where the difficulty increaser effect makes already hard DC's impossible. Also, the DC increase CAN affect attacking the infernal, but only if they are doing so as part of trying to escape
