P

Too late now, but we should have gotten even more successes. After all it was brewing tea which we feed them in a place of desolation so minus 3 DC.

While your hell is filled with infernal Essence enough to make most Black Magic users giddy this particular part of it is not a place of Desolation, it is literally the medbay of the palace. Now if you had taken them out into the Wastes which make up most of the world by area that would have pinged it.

Do we have the time dilation. If so does that mean for the 5 in 5 out rule we spend 5 days inside by their reckoning then 5 days out by the outsides reckoning?

Inside and outside perspectives:

5 days in is 2.5 days in the outside world. Then we wait 5 more outside world days.

So from the inside a hypothetical Molly maximizing her time in the courts would show up for 5 days, then for 10 days she's gone, then she returns for another 5 days.

From the outside hypothetical Molly disappears for 2.5 days, returns for 5, then disappears for another 2.5 days.

You did not have time dilation as you did not buy it in the build, this place is one to one with Earth right now. Whether there was extreme time dilation in the past and and the existence of this whole world started last summer Molly does not know, but right now she does not have to worry about it.

He is not skilled enough at it to feel around for the barrier. Harry's way of opening a way involves punching sideways to wherever he is very hard.
… damnit Harry. Guess we'll have to be patient and get Bob to help later.

Incidentally, is Aesp a spirit binder in the summoning sense? Seems like that line of work would be particularly useful for talking about the details of the border between here and the nevernever.

For that matter would Harry personally summoning someone give him a bit of that insight directly?

We are going to be fighting with Broken Seeker tomorrow we are going to want all our willpower.
Why?

We didn't make a deal with a specific timetable and you don't just fly across the country to assassinate a vampire duchess. She's a big player in a nation at war, this is something that's going to take actual work and planning to pull off.

Broken Seeker spent months setting up for a hit on Dresden, he works on immortal time and isn't likely to want any part in a Leroy Jenkins charge into the heart of the red court's power.

We sure we want to use the time travel law as an argument? There are still people who might think we're part of the councils jurisdiction, there was this business with Ebenezar to get our inhumanity backdated, etc.
True, but we're making this argument to Harry and not to the council at large.

The bigger issue in my view is that even if he accepts the premise something being theoretically possible doesn't mean it actually happened. An upgrade from impossible to "so implausible it's only technically not impossible" barely moves the needle.

We need something that measurably demonstrates that our position specifically is correct.

demonstrating that this place is physically real doesn't actually prove that Molly made it, just that something weird is happening.

Yep, he is the local spirit wrangler, at least for spirits that are not already bound to tech, scrolls or grimoires. The palace is ancient, as old as history, according to myth and legend as old as the labyrinth and it has been inhabited for such a long time that the story of how it was discovered is a fragmentary epic poem.

just that something weird is happening.
Or that demon get to her and Molly deluded herself into believing that she is creator of this place. Plus fallen(shadow) wanting to materialize here, surely it can't be for any kind of good reason, right?

It doesn't really factor into that one way or the other.

He could believe that's the case, but Molly being tricked by a demon in that fashion works just as well with a spirit world as a physical one.

So he only works with the local one then? I was mostly thinking in terms of pulling things out of the nevernever.

The local spirits are still a decent place to start, but it seems to me that proving to Harry that this place is inside/part of Molly's soul is the best way to demonstrate that she made it despite the time issues.

-[X] Challenge him to pick whatever souvenirs catch his interest (within reason and common sense) to bring back to Earth with him (authorize this with Aesp), and try to make them turn back to ectoplasm. That will prove that this realm is not part of the Nevernerver, no?

Also, I am unsurprised that Shangri-La is real in Dresdenverse. We might want to visit at some point.

As far as the general consensus of the Five Courts go this is the only world that exists. There are hints in ancient religious and occult tomes that others might exist and there are certain spirits in the world which claim to have come from elsewhere, but the key word is claim. These are not the most friendly or in some cases sane of spirits.

Interesting. Was the "we only exist in potentia as one of the infinite amount of possible realms until the Empress arrives" precept of the Covenant of the Empress to be kept? From "realm-in-waiting" name I think it's likely, but I would like to confirm.

And in the vein of things that should happen.
[JK] Things never come at the right time. They must be embraced regardless. Flirt with Harry.
- [JK] This is the most important roll of the quest. Use social excellencies

I am a fan of mollyxharry pairings. Plus to be honest I like how the power dynamic is so very reversed. Having lash in his head adding commentary while Michael is right there just adds to the hilarity.

-[x] Without a further word you raise your left and the endless storm descents in a funnel above you, until a bolt of lightning strikes your outstreched hand and meanders slowly over your armor, making the runes glow blue for a moment before they fade again. "Still sure this isn't my realm?"

It was, but the idea that you could actually move things and spirits from one to another was the domain of fringe religious texts.

Here is a stunt for flirting with Harry
"Hey I need to wash my brain after flirting with Broken Seeker let me have this!"
