Hmm. If we don't use our mask, we're likely to improve our base-line abilities more. If we do use it though, we'll leave a stronger impression on our compatriots, which is good since this is an organization where strength is prioritized over other qualities.

That's why Nel is able to be merciful and friendly; as a strong individual the other Arrancar consider them quirks of hers, while if she was weak they would seem to just be expressions of that weakness.

We are only maybe around Vice Captain Level right now, without the mask. With it, perhaps low Captain level. I think we'd be better off using it.

@TPK Does use our mask mean we use it from the start, or does it mean we'll use it when we think it's appropriate to bust it out?
 
We can probably train with Nel later guys, and we'd get all the benefits of that without an audience. Let's just establish ourselves first fighting the fraccion. Nothing says we can't gain a better position later on after training a bit.

Right so we know that Nel has basically an ocean of spiritual power and can thus squash us like a bug. Hopefully this means that Whitey has some sort of a plan or at the very least won't be upset if he loses...though using our powerup in the middle of what could be enemy territory does show a reckless streak which we've dodged so far (shush Tatsuki you were always going to be fine).

Because TPK graciously allowed us to retain our posteriors, and I don't want to throw them away already.

Let's see what Pesche and Dondochakka can do. If they're tough, we'll show our full power. But if not, we won't waste it just so we can absolutely crush them. It's always useful to have a hidden ace in the hole.

Because fuck it, let's have fun. Nel's too much of an unknown to be sure we put up a good fight, but we can totally take her subordinates. Got to beat the mooks before you can challenge the boss after all.
 
@TPK Is there a chance in-game for us to find out exactly what we are soon in the story? I'm confused as to whether we're a vizard, Arrancar, or some new species.

Of course, however, they are the only "species" that has uses a shinigami sword and puts on a mask where there are previously no fragments, hence why I put them in the "maybe" list. Until we can find exact evidence to the contrary, we can't cross it out.
 
If I recall correctly, Zangetsu is actually the result of White, the hollow that attacked and merged with Ichigo's mother, being passed down into Ichigo and eventually corrupted via Shinigami powers. Which would make us an Arrancar. Just a very unusually formed one.
