Tesla is broken the man got so many crits that he is driving me insane with the research on technology i now have to do.
I do sympathize, there's a lot of tech out there. I have a link to my Research Tech list in my signature, feel free to use anything there if it might help. Page 2 is where the updated tech lists are kept.
that's going to be covered in the news form the world update that starting in after roll 6 results.
They'll be shitting bricks that Russia just acquired the lynchpin of the Pacific?
on the subject of cars and public transportation, I'm going to put both in terms of options for you to develop and choose what to research more, electric cars will become an option in turn 6.
Possibly researching better batteries might be a good prerequisite for electric cars, just saying. The batteries back then weren't that good.
as a reminder event rolls are going to start happening from next update and in terms of crit the requirement will go from 90 to 95 in turn 8 or 9. Progress on economics is going slow so I doubt it will come into play before the beginning of part 2 which starts in 1900.
That's a good change about the crits, they shouldn't be so easy to acquire.
Pure awesome, now we just need to prepare for WW1 and make damn well sure that the second one does not become a thing, also build up Russia into a true hyper power with our sheer industrial and military might.
Walk softly and carry a big gun indeed.
Plus we can then go full hedge on in electrical cars and such, gear a early start on reducing demand on oil and using it as a export so we can control our rival nations.
Concerning WW1:
- Properly heavily fortifying the western Russian border against any European onslaught. That should include emplaced artillery batteries, airfields with Russian air forces, and tank brigade deployment centers a bit farther back from the front lines.
- Focus on modernizing the Russian Navy first, then expanding it. And build up the Hawaiian Islands into a major naval base, it definitely needs to be defended from both the US and potentially Japan.
- We'll need a large air force, and ideally to stay one step ahead of advancement compared to the western powers.
Concerning Industry/Infrastructure:
- We'll need to push advancing educational standards, and building more public schools, colleges, universities, and technical/engineering schools.
- We need to seriously push for improved medical infrastructure, many more hospitals and clinics, as well as medical schools and institutes to teach those who would staff them. Focusing on poaching the best European talent should be a priority.
- More factories, and building them behind the Ural mountains like was done in WW2 when the Nazis invaded the USSR would be a good idea. Heck, keep the original western factories, and just building concentrated industry behind the Urals would double our industrial output!
- A major focus on advancing the quality of our factories is important as well. And building in basic things like filters for smokestacks and such should substantially cut down on pollution.
- Instead of just the one Trans-Siberian railroad, there should be a second one as well, cutting through more northern Siberian territories and running to the tip of Anadyr by the Bering Straight to provide full coverage of all of Russia and Siberia. This will vastly accelerate industrial development and colonization of Siberia in later years.
- While railroads should be our major push for now, building proper highways would enhance transportation and mobility even further. The US Interstate Highway system has provided a LOT of economic and military bonuses to the US, Russia should do the same, but maybe on a slightly smaller scale initially.
Research:
- Getting mechanized agriculture up and running (McCormick reapers to all of Russia's farmers, for instance) would vastly improve food production.
- Improved urban sewer design should boost the health and cleanliness of Russian cities, as well as making it easier to expand them later on. Expensive, but sewers are always worth it. Developing methods of basic sewage filtration would be a good idea too, head off polluting Russian lands too badly.
- Radar is definitely a huge deal (the Battle of Britain proved just how useful that will be), as is sonar for naval forces. We should push for this.
- Oh, and we know just how paradigm-breaking aircraft carriers are, we can push for that decades before anybody else.
I think the US is definitely going to invest in intrigue to steal our research.
Probably, we'll need to develop a KGB-like organization to fend everybody else off Russia's shinies.
