Anyways, considering how much of a madman I am, I'm going to give every sergeant in the Chapter a name. So somewhere in the region of 100 names for the line sergeants alone, plus names for the Librarians, Chaplains, Sanguinary Priests, Techmarines for when I reintegrate them into the Companies, the Veterans...

If anyone wants to write up sergeant bios and names, please do.

You're a mad man!

A MAAAAAAAAAD MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

Swordo I must ask you reconsider sir. Only an Adeptus Adminatorium clerk could do it...WHILE WE ARE SPACE MARINES AND WE FIGHT FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!

It would be much more sane if you made a name (and bio if you really want to) for a sergeant when they become relevant. No reason to make so many names and bios for people who might (probably) not ever come up in the actual writing.

Remind me; an homage to Burt Gumner as an Astartes Sergeant is a 1) good idea or b) dreadful idea
I don't mind it, show me your memes.
Should we generate names? Shall we offer them upon you?
Names are fine, but if you have fluff and stuff behind it I don't mind either! Draw from anything, like a relative newbie to the Chapter, a survivor of the Five Hundred, someone who was a scout at the War for Baal or who witnessed Sortiarius, or who missed all of that because he was with the Deathwatch during those times... Anything goes!

Dumb as a rock but somehow incredibly useful surf.
"Should have been a Black Templar." -Cato Jantorus, Master of the Watch

"Dumber than an Ork and ten times as dangerous. Like a Black Templar." -Hale Cicero, Lord of Skyfall

"Not the sharpest sword in the rack, but certainly the bloodiest. Like the Black Templars, in this strained sword metaphor." -Damien Cybereon, Lord Sacrifice

"More Templar than Thinker. Recommend permanent secondment to a Black Templar Crusade Fleet." -Xavian Macharius, Master of Recruits

"He prefers Tabards to Capes. How quaint." -Quarto Astorum, Regent

"I will not participate in this childish pissing contest. But fyck the Black Templars." -Idris Pathor, Master of the Marches

"I'm so proud." -Aurelius Asterion, Lord in Crimson Clad

  6. Celestus
  7. Setarrus

Nine names for the children of the Ninth :V

Here's the second batch of Space Marines:

11. Roboteus Logicas, Tech-Marine
12. Ferro Ora Dominus, Tech-Marine, Veteran of the War for Baal, perpetually grimly dour (or dourly grim)
13. Sangy Guinneves, Battle Brother of the Third Company, Seconded to Deathwatch during Sortarius
14. Griswald von Schenkopp, Assault Sergeant of the Third Company

- edited a name or two

Calvic Jonus, Tech-Marine, was selected for the forge for his habit of making explosives out of the damndest things. Most notable was the citrus based incendiaries used to clear an ork bunker.

15. Ronnic Dio, 6th Company Tactical Sergeant, young and quickly risen from the ranks

16. Umbra Noctis, newly enrolled Lexicanium, secretly a prolific writer under a pseudonym

17. Nicholas Cicero, 7th Company Tactical Sergeant. Known for using a Combat Shield and Bolt Pistol, Cicero is a fair bit unorthodox in his choice of weapons, but the results speak for themselves.

It's a reference, points to whoever guesses where from.

Dominiq Brunsmeir, Scout Sargeant. Former ganger, dimly remembers the things he had to do to survive, notable actions include holding off an ork attack by electrifying strategic access points with improvised equipment

[arbitrary list started by me]

18. Kane Kamille, 10th Company Scout, came from nowhere, with all ties before his transformation a mystery.

- A vegetarian, ironic for one of the Blood Angel stock

Eh, why not?

19. Ambriel Tatus: Scout Sergeant. Most noted for weaponizing Crimson Crusader experience with the Caves of Sorrow, digging a tunnel in frustration to an Ork Big Mek and killing it, after watching a mistake in an ambush allow it to escape into a cave system.

Still unable to explain how he was able to dig through to the Mek with such accuracy.

Micro-Seismic Reader Implant? Random mutation roll? Latent Geokinesis? Who Knows?

EDIT:

Anyway,

21. Solaires Helios, Tech-Marine, loves big balls of Plasma. Is attempting to make a fusion lasgun in the likeness of a needle pistol, citing some esoteric STC to crossbreed a lasgun and a micro-melta grenade bullet
22. Titos Pythos, Sergeant of the Seventh Company, pyro enthusiast

- modified his mark eight power armor to be fire resistant, and to douse himself with promethium so to set himself on fire and charge an Ork war-camp (with a flammable layer over-top the resistant one)
