A blank Inquisitor. Wow, a whole lot of heretics would be in for an incredibly bad time trying to deal with her. Inquistors are hard enough for them to deal with when they don't snuff out psyker effects just by SHOWING UP.

Say, does anyone if the whole thing where blanks freak people out still works over long distance comms? It's a side effect of the anti-psi aura so someone way out of range of that shouldn't be effected.

Probably not--but then you need to remember that Blanks in general are going to be badly undersocialized because people shun them.

Granted, by the time they become an Inquisitor they might have managed to work their way through such issues, but becoming an Inquisitor isn't exactly an easy task in the first place.

Omake: The Daily Rituals of the Crimson Crusader
So, while I figure out the next update, have a little thing I've been thinking about for a long time, but only got around to writing recently:

----

Daily Rituals of the Crimson Crusader

0400 - Morning Prayer: Lead by the Company Chaplain, the Crimson Crusaders renew their oaths to the Emperor and Sanguinius. Time is also used to issue orders, announcements, and settle other clerical matters. On occasion, Morning Prayer may be interrupted by a variety of complications such as Scout sabotage or rampaging Servitors, to keep the Battle Brother alert and able.

0430 - Morning Firing Rites: The Crimson Crusader engages in target practice with personal and squad weaponry. Punishments are doled out by the squad-load for consistent failure to meet the Rios Standard. The occasional compliment for marginally less failure may be given. Morning Firing Rites may sometimes be spontaneously disrupted by massed formations of Combat Servitors, revealing that on that day it is actually Battle Practice period.

0700 - Battle Practice: Generally this is close quarters oriented, however live fire or hazardous environment training may be done instead or simultaneously, depending on the temperment of the supervising Captain. On occasion, asymmetrical warfare scenarios will be run, to ensure that the Crimson Crusader will remain effective under fire, even under dire duress.

1200 - Midday Prayer: In addition to prayer, any injured Crusaders can report to the Sanguinary. A light midday meal is also prepared by the Serfs for the Space Marines. Scouts may be assigned to steal the meal of a senior Battle Brother by their Sergeant. Those who fail will go hungry until the evening.

1315 - Tactical Indoctrination: This can take many forms, from information on a new alien species or technology to strategy. A debrief of the morning's battle is common as well. On occasion, wargames will be conducted between Battle Brothers, often concerning scenarios previously recorded into the Chapter Archives.

1500 - Battle Practice: This focuses more on combined tactics in conjunction with vehicles, Dreadnoughts and devastator squads, and normally includes a trial of a new tactic introduced during Tactical Indoctrination. Joint training operations with the KPDF are common, whether against the Space Marines or under their command.

2000 - Evening Prayer: In addition to prayer, gene-seed testing may occur at this point. On occasion, prayer may be interrupted for whatever reason, to ensure that the Crimson Crusader remains alert and aware of their surroundings even when reaffirming their faith.

2100 - Evening Meal: A feast (by normal human standards) is provided by the Chapter Serfs, and some Chapter Masters may allow alcohol to be consumed. Crimson Crusader Serfs are permitted to eat beside the Crimson Crusaders, as are any KPDF squads who proved themselves worthy during Battle Practice. On occasion, mealtimes may be disrupted by an ambush, revealing the early start of Night Battle Practice.

2130 - Night Battle Practice: The Crimson Crusader engages in battle simulation under the cover of darness. Exotic environmental qualifiers, such as underwater combat, or combat through dense fog or smoke, or even void combat, is common, but dependent on whether training disrupts Evening Meal.

2315 - Maintenance Rituals: Each Space Marine is expected to maintain his own power armor and weapons. Complications may be forwarded to the Techmarines, but problems deemed to be minor may be met with derision and the ire of the Forge. Drawing the ire of the Forge typically leads to cyber-rockodiles in unusual places, meant for maximum irritation.

2345 - Free Time: Space Marines are permitted this time to reflect upon their duty to The Emperor and the Imperium, and are encouraged to mingle with the Serfs or spend time browsing the Chapter Archives. Space Marines may be called upon at this time by their Captain for whatever reason, be it special orders or simply an attempt to meet the men under their command.

0000 - Rest Period: Space Marines are allocated 4 hours in which to sleep. On occasion, Rest Period may be interrupted by Scouts on sabotage assignment from their Sergeant. Space Marines successfully tagged by the Scouts are to report to the Company Chaplain for remedial duties for the rest of Rest Period.

CC training Sergeants are rather creative and/or sadistic. They probably also have one of the best 'funniest home videos' collections this side of Terra from recording the neophyte's first days.

This is one of those 'you really had to be there' I take it. I see that the Master of the Forge's.......unique mentality has rubbed off on his pupils and subordinates.

The emphasis of the CrCr daily rituals, I feel, is on always remaining alert and ready to jump into battle at all times, no matter what. And also retaining a sense of humility and closeness to humanity that a lot of other Chapters lack, even their kindred Chapters. And also on individual thinking, and skill at both tactics and strategy ingrained into every Crimson Crusader so they can take over with minimal fuss in the event their Sergeant is taken out. And, of course, that a Squad's Sergeant truly is the most capable of them at leading the Squad.

Really though it's a lot about the Crimson Crusaders tormenting each other all day everyday in the largest continuous non-stop prank war the Imperium has ever seen. And the only winner is Aurelius. And that is how they retain their sense of humor*.

*A common Crimson Crusader joke is shouting 'LOGISTICS FOR THE LOGISTICS DESK' at random, often punctuated by the shouting or echoing of the phrase by the Space Marines around them.**

**There's a 50/50 chance that the Chaplain may join in or berate everyone for being too loud.

that is way too early to wake up
Space Marine need a lot less sleep than normal humans.

As for the design of the daily rituals, not sure where it started but there are similar versions bouncing around 1d4. An example of such would be the Raven Guard's one:
04:00-Morning Prayer: The Raven Guard are roused from their nests and assemble for prayer.
05:00-Morning Firing Rites: The Raven Guard practice their firing drills. Interestingly, Chapter serfs have never actually seen them utilize the firing ranges, but smoking targets are seen by the end of Firing Rites.
06:00-Battle Practice: The Raven Guard head to the battle cages to practice in live fire exercises. Interestingly, the Chapter serfs never witness the Raven Guard enter the cages, but smoking servitor ruins are almost always found by the end of practice. When they aren't found, that's because the servitors themselves have disappeared.
09:00-Morning Stalking Practice: The Raven Guard begin stealth practice, trying to sneak up on their fellows without being seen. Anyone who fails to ambush a single Raven Guard is assigned penitential duties.
12:00-Midday Meal: A light meal is prepared by the Chapter serfs. Interestingly, most Chapter serfs discover that the plate has been picked clean a moment after turning their back.
12:30-Tactical Indoctrination: The Raven Guard assemble for briefings on the enemies they will be facing, and given important information, such as the what visual spectrum the enemy can see in, traditional blind spots, and how easy it may or may not be to sneak up on them.
15:00-Evening Firing Rites: The Raven Guard assemble for their firing drills. By this point the Chapter serfs will be actively attempting to sneak up on the Raven Guard and trying to spot them shooting targets. If any succeed, the Raven Guard in question is assigned to three days of fasting.
16:00-Evening Stalking Practice: Any Raven Guard member that has not been ambushed at least once is targeted by the more advanced members. If he maintains his record he is promoted.
19:00-Evening Prayer: The Raven Guard assemble for prayer.
20:00-Evening Meal: A feast is prepared by the Chapter serfs. Somewhat relaxing for the serfs, the Raven Guard actually drop the stealth act long enough for them to enjoy the meal.
21:00-Weapons Maintenance: The Raven Guard clean and polish their wargear. Some of them may take the time to alter its colour scheme for impending missions.
23:00-Free Time: The Raven Guard are given free time. Some reflect on their duty to the Emperor and Corax. Others practice their stealth by sneaking up on the Chapter Serfs in full armor.
00:00-Rest: The Raven Guard retire to their nests for the evening.

Do they really get only 15 minutes of free time a day?

Do they really get only 15 minutes of free time a day?
Well technically their Maintenance Rituals count as free time, and depending on Night Battle Practice they may end early, giving them a potential maximum of an hour and a half of free time, including time for maintenance.

But honestly they only need fifteen minutes to lose horribly at Dwarf Fortress and then cry into their brother's chest for fucking up the embark and not realising that there were Fenrisian Wolves in that tundra, but refusing to go to any other location because he's not a snow-huffing coward.

Helps me understand how the CC are able to fight the ever tormenting chaos that is the warp. Literally, they train themselves mentally EVERY day via unending prank wars.

If 40k is a setting of endless war then the Crimson Crusaders Fortress Monastary is a battle field of endless pranks, fan faction writing, ogling at Aurelius, and more damn pranks. Oh an they get things done in the middle of a prank. I wonder what the Raven Guard think about the CC's and if a prank-stealth match up could be set up between the two chapters?

That'd be a fun omake.

RG is going to beat them at it.

What can I possibly say.

The CrCr have clearly been huffing too much Warp Dust, because that's some kind of Tzeentch level madness.

I love it. It can only end when the Scouts accidentally blow up the Fortress Monastery during their sabotage.
