Two things. On an emotional level. She helped kill Vander, she's threatening Benzo and Ekko. And if she wants a fight I'm happy to give her a fight.
But purely on the sheer practicality level? We have the drop on them, delaying gives them a chance to spot or hear us or for things to go wrong and this to turn into a hostage situation.
Speed. Surprise. Violence of action. Move fast, hit hard. Do unto them before they can do unto us, win the fight before it ever begins. Not only that but backing up Caitlyn. She's got our backs we should have hers.
The only reasons why not to go in guns blazing? Are 1, the risks of getting into a close up brawl with Seviika. And 2, Seraphine going to hide. Her hiding isn't a bad idea, but she should stay close.

The plan we came up with was pretty simple. There was no sense in overcomplicating things with a plan that had a ton of moving parts. Lure Sevika's people out of Benzo's shop and into a nice long narrow street that Caitlyn was sitting on the far side of with her rifle and let her pick them off from a distance. Seraphine would stick with her since the safest place I could think of for her in Zaun right now was close to one of the only people here I could trust
That just left it up to me to do the actual distracting and luring. Thankfully I had some really fun ideas for how to pull that off. I walked up to the front door of Benzo's and started knocking. Not a normal sort of knock like a customer wanting to come in and buy something, I broke out both knuckles and rapped on the door like some kinda really random poorly practiced drum solo. It was intended to be so annoying that nobody would be able to ignore it, even though they were in the middle of trying to beat someone into submission.
Just like I'd hoped, it didn't take long for someone to answer the door, a lanky young thug who was probably only a bit older than Vi had been. "Can't you read?" He pointed at the sign on Benzo's door, which had been flipped over to say his shop was closed right now.
"Nope!" I pulled a small package out from underneath my raincoat. "I've got a special delivery here for..." I pretended to be looking at the address on the envelope. "Says I'm supposed to deliver this to TheBigDumbOgreLady, care of SphicterSaysWhat!"
I tossed the package at him, and on pure instinct he caught it, staring at me like I'd been speaking to him in Shuriman. "What?"
I slammed the door in his face and started counting down. Three seconds later there was a muffled thud on the other side of the door. I might not have access to proper chemfuel or gunpowder in my new workshop, but a little fertilizer and a few common household chemicals were enough to make something happen. Not a very big something, just a tiny little firecracker compared to my Mousers, but then I didn't want a big kaboom when Benzo and Ekko were in the building too. Plus Sphincter had been holding said firecracker in his hands when it went off, and even a little firecracker can do damage when it's that close.
I opened the door back up and stepped over Sphincter, throwing back my hood and shooting a grin Benzo and Ekko's way. "Good news, boys! Your Big Fat Hero has arrived!"
Between what I'd done to poor, dumb Sphincter and my dramatic entrance, everyone in Benzo's was gawking at me. I quickly took stock of the situation: Sevika had two more thugs backing her up, while both Ekko and Benzo were tied to chairs. I was a bit relieved to see I'd staged my grand entrance before Sevika started roughing up Ekko. Not that it changed anything about how this was gonna go down, but it would've sucked if someone as nice as him had to take punches from an ogre like Sevika.
After what felt like just long enough to turn my entrance from a dramatic tour de force to a little awkward, Sevika finally spoke. "Powder? I thought you were dead." Much to my disgust, she looked like she was having a lotta feelings about seeing me alive again. Well, feelings other than 'my nemesis has arrived to claim her dark vengeance.' Was her brain not processing what I'd just done to Sphincter? "Glad you made it off the bridge, kid."
"Powder didn't make it off the bridge," I growled, fighting to urge to draw P-thwip and teach her lesson right now. Stick to the plan, Jinx. You're not winning outnumbered three to one in close quarters. "Though speaking of dead, the plan was for that bomb to take all of you out." I paused and looked over at Benzo and Ekko. "Well, not you two, obviously, but the rest of them." I turned back to Sevika. "So, seeing as you're still very alive, I'm just gonna..." I jabbed a thumb over my shoulder and popped my lips before turning around and running for it.
"After her!" Sevika shouted. It was the basic law of the urban jungle: if someone ran, the predators would chase them. I didn't love pretending my bomb hadn't worked and running away, but any good trap needed bait. This was exactly the kinda bait they'd fall for, too. They still thought they were dealing with the weak, cowardly Powder, whose bombs didn't work and who ran away when her family needed her. They had no idea what was coming for them.
Keeping ahead of Sevika and her goons was easier than it had been on the bridge not so long ago thanks to the awful weather. With it pouring down rain and turning what passed for streets in Zaun into a bunch of slippery mud nobody was gonna be running full-tilt. Trying was a recipe for getting one of your shoes stuck in a patch of thick clingy mud sliding on a patch of the slippery stuff. Either one would make you fall flat on your face. This time around I had the advantage since I was so light on my feet compared to muscle heads like Sevika and her buddies. Staying ahead was easy, if anything I was starting to worry I might need to slow down to avoid losing them.
Before I could worry too much about that I rounded the corner onto a long, narrow straightaway that ran alongside one of the Fissures. Perfect for Caitlyn, as long as she could make the shot. Sure, she was good on the target range, but people aren't little paper bullseye targets. Not to mention it was still pouring down rain. Caitlyn was good in competitions, but there was no way any shooting competition in Piltover would happen in conditions like this. And even if she could handle the pouring rain and sharp winds visibility was awful thanks to all the weather, and she couldn't shoot something she couldn't see.
For now, there was nothing I could do but keep running and count on Caitlyn being able to make the shot. If things got really bad I could try standing my ground with P-thwip, but that was a huge gamble. I could probably take down one of them, but three?
I suppose doubling back around to try to free Ekko and Benzo while Sevika and her crew were chasing my ghost was also an option, but it meant abandoning any plans to fight. Sure, getting Ekko out of this mess in one piece was a priority, but I also really wanted to make Sevika pay for everything she'd done to Vander. Not to mention taking away Silco's right-hand woman. Wasn't that worth risking—
I shook my head and threw that thought away. No, it wasn't. Vander had gone after the Enforcers for payback , but in the end he'd decided that protecting me was more important than making them pay. It was why Sevika turned on him too, because he cared more about protecting what he loved than killing what he hated. If I had to choose between being more like Sevika or being more like Vander … was that even a choice?
As if summoned by my decision, I heard a muffled crack ahead of me, and a moment later heard one of Sevika's goons groan and splash to the ground. Seconds later the process repeated, and I was left waiting for the third shot. And waiting… and waiting…
I stopped running and turned around, going back to check on the bad guys. Both the ones Caitlyn shot were down, but they were just the two other thugs who'd been working for Sevika. Probably just hired muscle from some local gang, there were plenty of them in Zaun. There was no sign of Sevika herself.
Had she even chased me? I was pretty sure I'd heard three sets of footsteps coming after me when I started running from Benzo's, but with all the rain coming down it was hard to say for sure. I hadn't stopped to look back and make sure Sevika was part of the group chasing me. For all I knew, she'd stayed behind to keep an eye on Benzo and Ekko.
But no, that wasn't how Sevika did things. She wasn't the kind of gang leader who acted like a wannabe chembaron, sitting back and counting her profits while everyone else did all the hard work. She was a street tough who got into her first gang by kicking the butt of a kid who was older and bigger than her, but not meaner and stubborner. If there was a fight or a chase or any kind of action going down, she'd wanna be in the thick of things alongside her troops. That was just how she rolled.
Which meant she was somewhere here, but I didn't know where. That had to be bad news. I made sure I had a good grip on P-Thwip and started moving back to where Caitlyn had set up. If Sevika was in the wind and on the hunt I'd feel a lot better with someone watching my back. I took my time moving, I didn't wanna rush to Caitlyn so fast I wound up leaving myself open to getting jumped by Sevika; if she get her hands on me, it was all over. She probably weighed more than twice what I did, and all of that difference was pure muscle.
Maybe I should've run for it, because when I was most of the way back to the abandoned building where Caitlyn had set up her sniper nest I heard a loud grunt and the meaty sound of a fist smacking into someone. I couldn't see Caitlyn's rifle poking out of the window anymore, and in a panic I quickly scrambled up the stairs. I found exactly what I'd been afraid of; Sevika standing over Caitlyn, holding her rifle and keeping her pinned to the floor with a boot on her chest.
"Sevika!" I snarled.
"Powder." She glowered back at me. At least she wasn't pretending to be happy to see me alive now. "You know, I gotta admit, I'm impressed. Never would've figured you'd have the brains to come up with a play like this, or the guts to see it through. Most people probably would've bought your act and not realized what was going on until they caught a bullet in the brainpan. Who's your friend?"
"Leave Caitlyn out of this." I took another step towards her, trying to figure out exactly where I needed to be. P-thwip could do some damage, but I needed to make sure my first shot put her down or she'd jump me. Sevika was tough and stubborn enough to keep moving and come after me even if I hurt her pretty bad with my first shot, so I needed to be close enough to make sure I wouldn't need a second one.
"Caitlyn, huh?" Sevika put a bit more weight on her foot pinning Caitlyn to the floor, getting a groan out of her. "Fancy looking girl with a fancy name, I'm surprised you'd bring one of your Piltie friends down here to Zaun."
At least Sevika hadn't said anything about Seraphine. With any luck she was somewhere safe, and Miss Ogre didn't have a clue about her.
Sevika pulled out one of her cigars and took her time lighting it, acting like she wasn't in the middle of a tense standoff. "You know, everyone in Zaun has a line that they tell themselves they'll never cross. Me? I always said I'd never hurt kids. Maybe some of the punks I had to teach a lesson hadn't technically hit legal adulthood, but out-and-out kids are another matter. Even with Benzo, threatening his kid was a bluff I was hoping he wouldn't call. That was my line." She scoffed and took a drag on her cigar. "Or maybe that's just bullshit I tell myself so I can sleep at night, and I'd just ask for extra before I'd cross that line too."
Her eyes narrowed, and her teeth clenched around her cigar. "Because right now, I gotta say, I'm getting really tempted to make an exception for you and your friend. When he finds out you're alive Silco's gonna want you back and in one piece, but I think he'll understand if I gotta rough you up a bit to make it happen, and he won't give a damn about what I do to your little friend. And if you really keep pissing me off, I might just decide to roll the dice on whether Silco finds out about you if I just dump your body into the Pilt with enough weight to stop it from floating back up. Never would've thought I'd lose three guys to a couple of kids."
"You're about to lose to lot more than that." I tried to pull out P-thwip and shoot her in the face, but at the last moment it got caught in my water-soaked raincoat and slowed down my draw. It was a stupid little mistake, and it gave Sevika the opening she needed.
Sevika flicked her cigar at me, and I flinched, instinctively covering my face to block the incoming embers. I'd always thought of her a big dumb brute, but it turned out there was one thing I hadn't realized about her. When she wanted to move, she could be fast. By the time I got P'thwip about and fired it she was out of my line of fire, and a hand with fingers like iron bars clamped around my arm before I could bring it back to bear on her, while her other hand clamped down on my throat and hauled me up into the air, leaving my feet dangling off the ground with nothing to find purchase on.
Sevika smirked as she tightened her grip on my gun arm. "If I'd known you had all this in you, maybe I woulda watched you a bit closer, Powder. I always figured Vi was the one to keep an eye on, I would've offered her a slot in my gang if Vander would've okayed it, but turns out you were hiding all kinds of interesting." She shook and squeezed my arm, trying to force me to drop P-thwip. "That's not any kinda gun I've ever seen before. Make it yourself?"
"Lemme go and I'll show you exactly how it works," I growled out through the hand clamped on my neck.
"Pass." Her eyes narrowed. "You got three seconds to drop it, or I'm breaking your arm, then I'm gonna curb stomp your little friend over there. One. Two..."
"LET HER GO!" Seraphine's scream was accompanied by a blast of blue light that slammed into Sevika like a wave of raw force, staggering Sevika and loosening her grip on my arm. I didn't waste the opening she'd given me, taking a gamble on the one place I could hit Sevika that'd hurt. That Enforcer bullet had left a big nasty hole clean through her thigh, and there was no way that would've healed completely in just a week. I drew back my foot and kicked as hard as I could manage right where I remembered her catching that shot.
Sevika let out a pained grunt, and I felt my weapon hand break her grip completely. I didn't waste any time bringing P-thwip up, place the barrel right against the arm holding me off the ground and pulling the trigger. My gun let out the p-thwip sound I'd named it after, and suddenly there was a nail all the way through her arm.
Sevika's hand spasmed open from the pain, dropping me to ground. Instead of trying to land on my feet I let myself hit the floor. After all, it put me right next to a great target. P-thwip, p-thwip. Two more nails, one in each of Sevika's feet, pinning her to the floor.
I quickly rolled out of her much-reduced reach before getting back to my feet, grinning at her. "You know, you're right, I made this gun myself. It's my first try at making a weapon, and I can definitely see a few ways I could punch it up. Compressed air is only good for so many shots, and obviously real bullets would be better, but considering I had to work with what I could already had in my workshop I gotta say ... I think I nailed it!"
Sevika let out a loud groan. I'm not sure if that was from the pain of having three pretty thick and long nails punched into her, or if she just couldn't appreciate a good pun. She'd never had much of a sense of humor.
Then she made the mistake of trying to talk. "Wait, Powder, we can make some kinda deal! I know—"
I growled and pointed my gun at her face. "I told you, Powder never made it off the bridge you sent her down to die on. My name is Jinx."
I pulled the trigger. Sevika brought up a hand to try block the shot, but all that accomplished was having the nail go into her hand first before punching into one of her eyes. At least having her hand nailed to her face kept me from seeing all the nasty blood and gore. Looks like I was gonna have to change her nickname from ogre to cyclops.
I grinned and dropped P-thwip back into its holster. "Seraphine, Caitlyn, you two still got all your insides on the inside?"
"I'm okay," Seraphine said, sounding a little hoarse. I guess that big magic scream thing took a lot outta her.
Caitlyn groaned and picked herself up off the ground. "It feels like I'm going to have a lovely collection of bruises when I wake up in the morning, but I'll live." She threw a curious look Seraphine's way. "What was—"
"Hextech." I cut her off before she could ask any awkward questions. "Figured I should give her an emergency little just-in-case backup if I was dragging her down here."
Caitlyn accepted the explanation at face value. Maybe she didn't know enough about how Hextech worked to poke at any of the obvious holes in my explanation, or maybe she just didn't care right now. After all, we'd just won a tough fight by the skin of our teeth, dealt with Sevika and her gang, and saved Benzo and Ekko. That was a lot to wrap her head around without worrying about how exactly Seraphine could pull off that stunt with her voice.
Sevika let a pitiful little whimper as the hand nailed to her face twitched, reminding me that while her butt had been pretty thoroughly kicked she was still alive. Caitlyn scowled at her as well. "What should we do with her? Normally I'd say we should go to the Enforcers but..."
"Silco's the new big boss of Zaun, and she's one of his heavies," I agreed. Even if most of Zaun was keeping their heads down on account of the rain, someone was probably gonna notice us. Not to mention just getting her all the way back across the bridge would be a huge task. I couldn't exactly count on her walking herself after I'd nailed her feet to the floor, and if she passed out or didn't feel like cooperating I didn't think the three of us could carry her all the way back across the bridge.
Caitlyn sighed. "I don't suppose there's any kind of ... recognized authorities in Zaun we could hand her over to?"
I shrugged. Vander would've been the closest we had, but he was gone. "Maybe Benzo?" He was one of Vander's old friends, and he'd sometimes handled stuff when Vander was busy taking care of something else. I had a feeling he wouldn't be in a very merciful mood, considering Sevika had him tied to a chair and had been beating the crap outta him when we showed up.
If that was how it was gonna end, why bother leaving it up to a middleman? Especially when trying to haul Sevika all the way back to Benzo's would still be a lotta work and a bit of a risk, even if it wouldn't be nearly as much of one as trying to get her back to Piltover. I twirled P-thwip on my finger and lined the barrel up against the side of Sevika's head. It was like Mom always said, once you make a mess it was your responsibility to clean it up.
Caitlyn's eyes widened. "You're just going to execute her?"
I shrugged. "Yeah? She helped kill Vander and Sheriff Grayson, and we can't exactly take her to the Enforcers or anything to put her on trial. Benzo's just gonna cap her if we take her to him anyway, so why not just sort her out now and save ourselves the trouble?" I glanced out the window, where the two thugs Caitlyn shot were still visible in the streets, and thought back to Sphincter lying on the floor of Benzo's shop. "It's not like we've been giving the people working for her love taps."
Caitlyn grimaced. "Yes, but that was a fight, this is..."
Seraphine didn't say anything, but a second later her cheeks bulged and she slapped a hand over her mouth. She quickly ran to the corner of the room and proceeded to noisily empty the contents of her stomach all over the floor.
Oh. right. I guess this was pretty gruesome. I just didn't really mind, since Sevika had it coming. Still, maybe...
I went over to Seraphine and helped her back to her feet, wiping her mouth with the sleeve of my raincoat. "Seraphine, you and Caitlyn might not wanna stick around for this. Head back to Benzo's I'll catch up with you in a bit."
Caitlyn grimaced and walked over to us, putting an arm around Seraphine. The younger girl looked up at me with her bright blue eyes. "Are you sure this is what you want to do, Jinx?"
Oh. Well that was a heck of a question. I was pretty sure about it ... right?

[ ] Kill Sevika
[ ] Bring her to Benzo
[ ] Spare Sevika
I might've had a bit too much fun writing a Jinx action scene. Her chaotic energy is a perfect excuse to just be completely shameless.
Feels a bit like a no-win scenario. It's easy to imagine how each of these choices could spiral into really bad outcomes... I think the bad outcomes of killing Sevika here are a lot more predictable and manageable than the bad outcomes of the others, though.
This is a moment to find Jinx's moral line.
officially, our options are, Spare, Kill or bring to Benzo.
realistically the question is Kill or bring to Benzo, because in no world does Jinx just let Sevika walk away from here.
I think...
[X] Bring her to Benzo
I have one real reason for this. Sevika is spiteful and there is a non-zero chance that in order to hurt Jinx she mentions what has happened to Vi. I doubt its anything good, but better that we learn it early on and prepare than being blindsided later.
As an aside. we've finally reached -3 stability which (depressingly) is pretty normal for us. we can expect to actually succeed in checks again
I have no real in game reason for why this is good i just think Sevika is despite it all probably a good person to have around Zaun compared to everyone else and i want to reflect that in the choices
2 things in favor of keeping sevika alive at least for now.
first she knows that Vi is still alive and also maybe where she is so we can maybe try and rescue her, in fact I think that's the deal that she wanted to make before Jinx shot one of her eyes, (huh it's an even worse timeline for her right now.)
Second while Sevika is a traitor and backstabed everyone except Silco she still cared for the kids still cared for powder and Vi, as seen by how she was happy at first at seeing jinx alive.
now maybe a write in could work for spare sevika and under it have her tell us what happened with Vi and the rest.
Cause if what jinx thinks is right benzo would also just kill her afterwards
The plan was to kill her, she's talked about killing Jinx. She was going to kill Benzo if he didn't help Silco, maybe Ekko too. She has killed Vander.
Sucks we couldn't kill Seviika as fast as we wanted, but she's smart and fast and tough. Trying to capture her and bring her to Benzo comes with all kinds of risks and sparing her means she reports back to SIlco.
