Could you give me an example of what you mean by micromanagement? Tactical stuff I don't expect you to handle 'cause then I'd have to think about how battles are arranged and such and I'm shit at that, so managing individual battles isn't something I expect you guys to try. But I'm tired and hungry at the moment so I'm slightly unsure what you mean at the moment.
Something like the difference between "Paskrit will conquer Nippon and Cathay and Mourne, with general objectives (insert) and the resources of (insert)" and "Paskrit will conquer Nippon, Cathay and Mourne, insert general strategy"

It's basically the difference between much of the war plan and crap written for conquering the Dark Lands last turn, and simply writing that Paskrit will handle the campaign.

That could be a thing for sure, though it'd be a kinda expensive one due to how insanely useful it'd be. You could do something like get Pestilens to make a plague that makes people unable to understand anything but Queekish though, which'd be cheaper but also less controllable and not have the compulsion aspect.

Or a plague that makes any language except Queekish come out like gibberish.

Drop it in Altdorf, watch the city collapse into chaos because no one can actually understand each other.

Tower of Babel on this shit.

Put in in the empire of man and we could get them to exterminate their own citizens. Except make the language just the dark tongue so they don't suspect us.

Oh, so something like this, then, or something similar?
- Warlord-General Paskrit and the USA will conquer Bretonnia - 5 Authority

Sorry if I'm missing your point, my job sucks all my mental capacity out of my brain and deposits it in a compactor.

You can do that if you want, for sure, and from a purely mechanical standpoint it won't give you any maluses or anything if you select a competent hero unit - hell, you're pretty much doing that this turn with sending the USA and the Grey Seers dragon ogre hunting. It's just that this game doesn't run wholly on mechanics since I started it with nothing really planned out and the mechanics I do have are really loose, it runs on inspiration a lot as well - for instance, that new potential hero unit you got, Cripplepaw? He got generated purely because of a whimsy that took hold of me during writing - so giving a bit of detail on what you want to do helps get my creative juices flowing and thus probably give you ancillary benefits and such. I know I certainly wouldn't have come up with the idea of the Drillfiend if you guys hadn't put Skyre and Moulder together and told them to make a way to transport troops.

Does that make sense? I'm not going to make things go worse for you if you throw some authority and hero units at a place to conquer it or whatever, it's just that including creative ideas helps me be creative when writing out how the turn goes and thus probably helps you out. Hopefully I'm getting across what I mean correctly.

On the flip side, will you punish us if a write-in or plan got voted in that you felt was actually inferior to what the Skaven general in charge would normally have come up with if left to their own devices?

Hmm, good question. Probably depends on the hero unit - if it was really that bad of a plan, depending on their character some would probably creatively reinterpret/ignore Thanquol's orders (which your votes are representations of, remember) and some would follow them, which ... well, I wouldn't say punish, but it might lead to non-desirable results depending on what the plan is? The only thing I can think of that I'd outright punish you guys for is if you voted in something that blatantly utilizes meta knowledge that you couldn't possibly know IC, and even then I'd probably tell you guys beforehand 'uh hey you don't technically know that'.

Is the level of details/plans we did this turn in Cathay desirable? Would you even be okay with more detail/micro? Or do you want less and you'll take it from there so long as the ideas are sound?

Oh yeah what you gave me this turn was pretty good. I haven't gotten to writing that bit up yet since the Dark Lands ramifications are pretty extensive, but it seems pretty sound to me - having plagues unleashed in Cathay in tandem with convincing ogres to go a-conquering and then fucking up their coastal defended just before Nippon launches an invasion? That has plenty of opportunity for drama and coolness to me. So yeah, keep doing what you're doing.

Wow. Dark Lands was that big a Deal? What in particular was so huge, aside from the whole Skaven settling on the surface in the first place?
Well...it's transformational. I originally wrote it as the rebirth of the Skaven nation. Usually Clans are going to be scrambling against each other in some fashion as competition for homes and resources and so on, but I wanted it so that everyone gets a piece of the pie of this vast new area.

Look at what hero units you left unassigned.

There's also something that's blindingly obvious in hindsight at the same time that it's completely out of left field. Needless to say I'll be keeping that particular edit in reserve until I finish the turn :p

Is it Morskittar? He's the big one I can see, on account of being a huge narcissist, and I don't think anyone else unassigned would be as willing to rock the boat in the early End Times.

There's also Packlord Verminkin, I believe. The stuff in the Daek Lands is primarily administrative and logistics based, and he definitely knows that shit. It's why we considered him AND Goldfang.

You assume it was limited to one person.

As an aside, I'm approximately ... 60? Something like 60ish percent done. Maybe 70.

11k in so far.

Help me :V
