... It's hard to tell if no one's voting because they're away for the holiday or if it's because they're unconcerned with the direction the vote is going. Votes aren't locked yet, at any rate.

Lack of votes may imply that people do not really believe that this one choice is of big importance or generally agree with the way it's going. 3 votes bandwagon isn't that different from 8 votes bandwagon imao, if no other votes are present.

I mostly got distracted with family and work - related stuff myself. And while it's not typicall at all for me to be busy at weekends and the following monday, i believe it to be the exact opposite in most cases.

I'm concerned asking the other question could lead to souring relations or bloodshed in the worst case. Probably wouldn't happen but just in case.

Worse than a captive, she's uh...gene donor for his projects along with Quint Nakajima. At least, IIRC. It's been a long time.

Not too surprising. I thought it might be like that, but since there weren't mini-clones of her running around like with Quint, I wasn't sure. That and I didn't recall it mentioned in the anime, but I haven't read any of the side material or seen the sound stages.

In general, Scalgetti shouldn't have that big a range of top class mage genetic material to use for his combat cyborgs. They're all modified derivatives of his few samples, and the only ones we know about are Quint Nakajima and Lutecia's mom.

At least, unless he went looting Project F byproducts like Erio(luckily for Erio, Scalgetti wanted only girls so he could implant them with his clones).

I had always assumed he had a wider range of samples. Mainly because it doesn't seem logical from a scientific point of view for him to limit himself to Quint and Megane's genetic samples. He was a criminal mastermind who had the Bureau covering up his crimes for him. It's not like he was lacking in resources or means given the scale of his operations.

Possibly, but the issue is the required high quality specimens. High ranked mages don't just go missing without drawing attention.

Also this man is a genius, changing vote.

True, but Subaru and Ginga were made without Quint's knowledge. So Jail clearly had some way of gathering her genetic material that didn't rouse her suspicion or require her capture.

*shrugs* let's have it more gensokyo way then.

Dunno how accurate it is, but the wiki claims that Jail didn't make Subaru and Ginga. It doesn't cite the claim, so I'm not sure where it was pulled from ... but it's not too unbelievable, given that G&S were found, but none of the Numbers were. Especially considering how dangerous Subaru's IS is - and that none of the Numbers seemed to know about it until she activated it - for Jail to have lost them and not made any real effort to get them back until much later makes it seem like they weren't his work.

Tea, huh? Hmm ....

Honestly Jail had a hand in a lot of illegal science and probably sold of some of his processes to get the funds he needed.

Makes you wonder who built THEM in that case, but I'm getting the impression the IS that manifests isn't something Jail had a lot of control over.

Those are good points. You had me at he didn't try to reclaim Subaru and Ginga. Honestly, I can't imagine him letting anything go unless he lost interest. I mean this is a guy who went full scale assault against the TSAB just to secure 3 people and a Relic. That said, he might've still had a hand in Subaru and Ginga's creation, like developing the technology, similar to how he laid the groundwork for Project F that eventually created Fate and Erio.

The theory I proposed was that Jail could've had access to wide range of genetic samples because Quint wasn't missing or locked up when Subaru and Ginga were created. Meaning the method to obtain or amount of genetic material required wasn't noticeable to her. And if someone else could do it, I have no trouble believing someone with extensive resources like Jail could do the same. That's what I was discussing with Veekie who proposed Jail had a limited selection.

Nanoha and Hayate

--[X] Also, Have Tea with her.

You watch Signum easily defend against the four trainees for a moment, then you snap your attention back to Nanoha. "That's right! I wanted to ask you something, too!" She gives you a curious look, and you nod your head emphatically. "Yeah, I wanted to talk to you about Earth," you say, and she gets a bit nervous.

"Earth?"

"Yeah, you guys can go there, right?" You tilt your head to the side, and Nanoha slowly nods. "Well, I kinda want to go back there for a bit! I had some fun, and I want to see more youkai, and get more clothes! I'm famous, too, that's what I was told - lots of people know about me!" You ignore Vita's snort as you puff yourself as much as you can, chin up. Nanoha sighs.

"Eh, well ... there's ... a bit of a problem with that, actually ...." You stop, then look intensely at Nanoha, waiting for her to continue. "You see ... none of the things that you experienced have happened. Mitakihara hasn't been devastated, mages are extremely rare, and 'youkai' don't exist." She takes a deep breath. "... And it seems that Gensokyo doesn't exist at all. I'm sorry." You stare at her for a moment, then your shoulders twitch.

Vita jumps up from the table, Graf Eisen swinging into a ready position as you curl up, touching your chin to your chest. Your shaking intensifies, and you think you can feel Nanoha getting up as well, and then you can't help it any more. Your lips twist into a smile and you throw your head back, laughing merrily. You look at Nanoha and Vita, and the evident confusion spurs you into greater howls of mirth. Even Vita's glowering frown doesn't calm you down ... although when she finally gets fed up and pushes you off the bench, the impact startles you out of your fit. You take a deep breath as you climb back up.

"Hehe! Sorry, sorry. It was just ... I didn't realize Patchouli was so amazing!" Nanoha and Vita both frown and glance at each other before looking back at you. You sigh. "Patchouli, my sister's magician friend! She's the one who made the portals to begin with, and they just keep getting better and better! Hehehe~!" Ah, that's right! You have to get permission to test your spell cards. "Hey, is Hayate here right now?"

"Hm? Yes, she should be in her office. Why?" Nanoha looks curiously at you as you jump to your feet.

"Okay, then I'm gonna go ask her if I can practice my spell cards!"

"Ah, no -Vita?" Nanoha starts to reach for you, but Vita puts her arm forward to block her.

"Let her go, already," she says, and you giggle as you swoop around to give her a quick hug.

"Thanks, Vita!" You swoop off, heading for the cafeteria.

You wonder if you should get the tea set you use, but that would mean going back to your room, and if you're going to do that you might as well just have the Captain - or the Major, if they fixed him already - get you permission ... but you already told him you were going to do this, and you just told Nanoha and Vita you were going to talk to Hayate, so .... You freeze as you step into the cafeteria. Nanoha never actually said she would take you to Earth, and you got distracted because you didn't know that. And if it's a different Earth, then you won't be able to ask anyone about using Soul Gems ... so there isn't much reason for you to go to a different Earth, is there? You sigh and shake your head. Tea. That's what's important right now.

"Can I help you?" You glance to the side as the woman says that - ah, a clever door, cleverly hidden! You slip past her into the kitchen - the only drinks out there are common-meal ones, not suitable for a meeting between people!

"Tea, tea, looking for tea~" You jump up, hovering above the counters so you can look for the good stuff. The woman starts to say something, then stops; when you glance over after a moment, you see the blue wolf-youkai lying on the ground next to her, watching you. You smile and wave, then go back to searching. You find it two cabinets over, after that weird stuff Patchouli sometimes drinks, and pull out one of the containers. It's even easier to find the stuff you need to make the tea, and then you sit on the counter to wait for the water to boil. You wish good tea was faster to make.

"You could just use Laevateinn," you hear in your head, and you blush furiously. No, you learned your lesson that time!
...
Soon enough, the tea is made, and you carry the tray out of the kitchen. The wolf-youkai glances at you, then walks off toward the interior of the building, and you follow him, humming softly. He's moving just a bit faster than you'd like, though, so you float into the air and drift alongside him - it's easier to control how quickly you move that way. Especially up the stairs.

You nod your thanks to the wolf-youkai as the door slides open, and you drop down to walk through. The office is big - not by your standards, of course, but it's almost as big as the cafeteria downstairs! And it's all empty ... well, mostly empty. You walk toward Hayate's desk, eyes drifting over to look at the fairy sitting at her own tiny desk, then you switch back to Hayate as you set the tray down and hop into the chair. You're about to summon your clones to serve the two of you when she nods cordially at you and begins pouring the tea herself.

"Ah, Flandre, it's been a while since we've seen each other, hasn't it?" She sets your cup closer to you as she finishes her own, and you breathe deeply.

"Yup!" You nod, then take a sip of your tea, sighing in satisfaction. She shakes her head, then takes a sip of her own.

"It is good," she says, and puts her cup down. You take a another drink. "I suppose you came here for a reason besides making sure I had some tea, though, didn't you?" You nod.

"Uh-huh! I wanted to see if my spell ca-"

"No."

"... rds ...." You trail off as you realize what just happened. She interrupted you ... and she said 'no.' She didn't even let you finish before she refused you ....

"Flandre, I understand that you want to be with Vita, but you can't do things like this. If you want something to get approved, you need to go through the chain of command, to make sure that you aren't disrupting what other people are doing. Earlier, you interrupted Fate's work when you went flying through the city, and just now you interrupted a training session just so you could talk to Nanoha and Vita! I have work I need to get done, but I can't do it with you here. And you want to show off some more, which is just going to cause more problems for us. Flandre, you can't do this." You blink. Disruption. Interruption. Show-off. A problem. She ... thinks you're a problem, and wants you to go away. A problem that needs to disappear. You nod jerkily, then focus on the teacup you're holding. You didn't even get to finish it.

"Flandre? Flandre!" You set it back on the table where it belongs and stand up. You should go, since you aren't wanted. You rush to the door, but it doesn't open. It's stuck. It's stuck? You shove your hand through the door, and heave it to the side. The metal shrieks, and then you're on the other side ... and the door isn't closing. You have to close the door, and there's another scream of metal. It's not perfect, but the door is closed. You run down the hall ....

At the top of the stairs, you stop. Why are you running? Did you really do something wrong? You didn't do anything you didn't do with Marino's unit, and no one there tried to make you do anything differently. And you got permission! You didn't interrupt anything! But you did something wrong?

What now?

[ ] Go straight back to your room.

[ ] Thank Nanoha and Vita for talking to you, then go back to your room.

[ ] Run away somewhere until you feel better.

[ ] Find an area no one will miss, and make it disappear.

[ ] You didn't do anything wrong. But you will now.

DM Note: It's still daytime, in case you want to set Headless loose.

[X] Find an area no one will miss, and make it disappear.

We learn the last time that we need to vent every so often so blowing up an uninhabited area is the best method.

Question, how good is Flandre at judging "an area that no-one would miss".

Would not be good for Flandre to blow up something people do care about or kill people because Flandre failed a "perception roll" or something (or worse, conflicting definitions of "care about" for her and the rest of society)

Also, I am sort of glad Flandre starting to realize that this whole military, chain of command stuff just doesn't suit her. Sure, she might of known that before, but now she is getting the idea as to why.
