The best part is the squeaking the runner makes as he skids on the landing. It's glorious.

Also if scarlet goes to worm will she take bonesaw as a playmate?
I'm one of those horrible people who've had much of Worm spoiled for them, but haven't actually read any of it (well, I think I got to page ... 5? 7? ... 7 of Doctor Mod's No-Spoiling Let's Read, if that counts as 'read'). So ... I dunno?

Scion was spoiled for me but once I sat down and got into it I coudnt stop.

Meeting Lutecia
[X] Follow the bugs

You sigh. You were hoping to see Vita, but someone is looking for you, it seems. You aren't sure who - a youkai, you guess - but you probably shouldn't keep whoever it is waiting. Besides, if anyone needs to reach you, you're still wearing a tracking device! So you're fine.

"Alright, alright, I'm coming," you say to the bugs, and some scatter. Others fly in front of you, guiding you to the east ... at an agonizingly slow pace. Even if it does attract slightly fewer stares from passers-by than a less restrained speed, you quickly begin to feel the tug of boredom, and stop. After a moment, the bugs notice your pause and return to you, buzzing anxiously. "Look, this is going to take forever, so how about we do it a different way?" You hold out your right hand - your left is occupied holding the parasol, after all. "You all land on me, and I'll fly forward. If I need to change directions, you all just move that way." After a short wait, the bugs land. You consider that - it probably means the bugs are being manually directed .... You file it away and zoom forward, flying much faster than before. You don't even need to change directions, as it seems the bugs are leading you out of the city.

Not even ten minutes later, though, you stop again. Fate Harlaown loops in front of you and frowns at you. You transfer the parasol to your right hand, careful to not dislodge the bugs, and wave at her. She glides closer.

"Flandre Scarlet, flight within the city limits is restricted, especially at such a low altitude." She gestures at the nearby buildings. You aren't sure what the problem is - it's not like you're going to hit anything, after all, and someone would have to trying really hard to throw something up high enough to hit you. Besides, did Balfour really expect you to walk?

"But you're flying here, so isn't it okay?" She sighs at your question.

"I'm flying because it's difficult for someone on the ground to catch someone who can fly," she says as she points at a car on the road below you. It has flashing red lights and at least two brown-uniformed soldiers inside. You wave at them. "And just what are you doing over here?"

"Hm, well, I was going to go see where Nanoha and Vita are, because I wanted to talk to them, but someone wanted me to go somewhere, so I'm going there." She stares at you for a moment.

"Do you know who it is?" You shake your head. "But you're going there anyway?" You nod, and she puts her free hand to her head. You stare at her for a moment, then switch your parasol-holding hand again and check to make sure the bugs are still there. Just as you're getting bored waiting for Fate to say something, she sighs. "... Alright. Just let people know if you're going to be flying around the city in the future," she says, and you nod vigorously.

"Okay!" You fly off again, still heading east, but you don't need to look back to know she's following you. You wonder whether you should ask her about Earth, but decide against it - that was one of your reasons for going to see Nanoha, after all, and going to see Nanoha means you can see Vita! You hope whoever wants to meet you doesn't leave just because you aren't alone anymore - that would be very irritating .... Over half an hour later, you've finally left the city behind and are flying over a light forest when the bugs drop off, flitting toward the treeline. You float down as well, and after a moment's hesitation, Fate follows. Looking around, you see the mage ... and Agito! Fate tenses and raises her staff, but you simply fold your parasol and put it away, then walk forward to meet them.

"Hi! Looks like you found your friend without my help," you say, and the mage bows her head. Come to think of it, you never learned her name, did you? She touches the fairy's shoulder and gestures toward you; Agito slowly flies up to you.

"So, uh, I ... uh, apologize for ... you know, the whole setting you on fire thing." You blink; oh, yes, that. More importantly, though, you need to respond .... Quickly, you bring up your hand and press it firmly against her forehead, then wave your hand side-to-side. She wobbles in the air for a moment after you let go, and you giggle.

"It's okay! You didn't even pop my eyes, so it's fine," you say, then look up at the mage. "But I thought I was going to help you meet her?" She frowns, then starts casting a spell as Agito flies back to her. Fate tenses even more, and you can feel the magic building up behind you, then Zest appears ... along with the bloodied form of Major Marino. You can tell the injuries are old, but he isn't in good shape - humans don't do well with puncture wounds, especially when several of them are grouped together. Still, your gaze chills as you look back at the mage. "And just who did this?"

"... I ... I don't know," Agito manages to say, softly, and you look directly at her. She shies away, and the mage steps between you as Zest moves to stand protectively behind them. You let out a breath, softly, as Fate breaks out of her shock and moves forward.

"You are all -" She breaks off as Zest pulls out his spear and - more importantly - Laevateinn spins into place in your hand, blocking her forward progress. The mage and Agito watch you; you can't see Zest's eyes under his hood, but you suspect he's still watching Fate. "Flandre?"

"Hm, I've been meaning to ask for a while now ... what's your name?"

"Lutecia. Lutecia Alpine." You nod.

"Huh. We'll probably meet again, do you think? I'd like to see what a real fight against you guys will be like, so take care until that happens," you say, a slight grin on your face. Agito goes white, and Lutecia frowns. "See you then." Lutecia nods slowly, then begins a spell. A triangle appears beneath them, and then they're gone. You sigh, return your gift, and turn to face a glaring Fate. Before she can say anything, you snarl, "What are you doing, you idiot? He's still alive!" She blinks and her eyes widen before she rushes to Marion's side. You hope he'll be able to tell you more about what happened.

"... So I wanted to see if they're actually working properly. So I was hoping I could get Vita to help me," you finish, looking at Vita and Nanoha in turn. Vita sighs.

"Why me?"

"Because I already know what your attacks are like, of course," you say, smiling. Nanoha chuckles and pats Vita's shoulder.

"If it won't take too long, I suppose I don't have a problem with it," Nanoha says, and you clap your hands. "Though, we would need Hayate's permission - even if we do it during a break, it would disrupt training." You pout, looking at the field where Signum is fighting the trainees by herself.

What do you do?

[ ] Ask to talk to Hayate.
- [ ] Talk to her about seeing if your spell cards work.
- [ ] Talk to her about letting you have Vita.

[ ] Go back to your unit and let Captain Balfour talk to Hayate about it.

[ ] Other?

DM Note: Flandre is going to talk to Nanoha about Earth next update; it would have been before she asked about using Vita to test the spell cards, but your DM is silly enough to start writing an update when he's tired. And I'm not sure I could keep things straight if I tried writing it right now - I almost had Flan using "Lutecia" before she actually learned that name :/ I'm sure I had more to say, but coherency is not a strong point right now. :(

[X] Ask to talk to Hayate.
- [X] Talk to her about seeing if your spell cards work.

So the list of people I want us to grab currently as servants is Vita, Agito and Lutecia.

Vita - Hard, due to her loyalty to Hayate.

Agito - Medium, she's only loyal to Lutecia and Zest
Lutecia - Easy, save her mom and don't terrorize her too much and we got it.

So we recruit Lutecia and Agito would likely follow. Also if we can save Lutecia's mother she'll switch to a rather upbeat personality.

If she stays around Flan long enough i'm sure she'll be infected by the gensokyo mindset.
...oh crap, I just realised something terrible! We're a failure as a Gensokyo resident, a disgrace to the art of danmaku, and an embarrassment to our sister! You see, we've failed to follow the most important part of the Way of Gensokyo!

We haven't had tea with anybody we've beaten! :o

There wasn't enough of them left to have tea with.

Also isn't Jail keeping Megane - Lutecia's mom - a captive, but he tells our favorite summoner he's going to "revive" her instead? I can't recall if this is accurate, but if it is true, imagine when she finds out, after Flan saves her mom of course.

Once she finds out she'll be pretty pissed too bad Jail still has that fail safe control spell on Lutecia.

That does suck. I wonder how the others will take it - Megane's true condition? Zest and Agito might be able to do something. Be interesting to see the rift it could create between them and the Numbers. At this point, I doubt the Numbers would betray Jail for Lutecia's group even though they like her.

Worse than a captive, she's uh...gene donor for his projects along with Quint Nakajima. At least, IIRC. It's been a long time.
