[X] Keep beating him to a pulp until he stops regenerating.
-[X] Use his body to smash his minions while you were at it.
[X] Keep working on spell cards. Explain your deal with Marino to Balfour.
The vampire's body knits back together almost immediately, of course. You dart forward and grab him by one arm to hurl him down the hall. He barely has time to notice you caught him before he's flying through the air, and he slams into the wall below the window with a wet, satisfying crack. You giggle as you slowly walk toward him, hands clasped behind your back. He snarls at you, and a trio of blue-green orbs appear above his head; he flings his arm out toward you, and they leap forward. You simply cock your head to the side, then step between them as they shoot by. The poor vampire is already hurtling toward you, however, and the delicious look of shock on his face is almost as funny as the way he trips as he tries to skid to a stop. You smile at him.
"Your danmaku is terrible," you say as you pick him up, then you hurl him down the hall again. You don't throw him quite as hard this time, and he rolls along the floor before hitting the wall. One of his arms makes a popping noise, but it snaps back into position as he rises to his feet. "Aw, don't run! I'm having fun!" He takes off down the hall as you reach the corner, and you see him ram through a door leading to a stairwell. Amusingly, he runs up. You simply throw yourself out the window and fly up two floors, then dash through the window as he exits the stairs.
He freezes just before you slam into him, and your grin widens as you feel his bones crush to powder as he's driven into the wall. Then you brace yourself against him and rip his arms out of his sockets. He shrieks and you toss the arms behind you as he runs away, heading for his little army. You frown as you watch him go - he's regrowing his arms rather than trying to recycle the ones you just ripped off. You stare at the discarded arms for a moment, then leap onto the fleeing vampire and tear one of his legs off. He keeps crawling away from you, dragging himself forward with his arms until his leg regrows ... and the leg you pulled off is still there.
"Poor little baby," you croon. "You must be so confused. How long has it been, I wonder? A week or two?" You dart forward, catching him just as he picks himself up to start running again, and slam him head-first into the wall. "Oh, well. I guess it doesn't matter ..." you say as you pick him up and hurl him down the hall. Instead of simply allowing him to crash into a wall again, though, you throw yourself forward and tear him apart before he can hit. He flops on the ground, his dismembered limbs twitching for a moment before they go still, and he tries to drag himself toward his now-visible minions. The barrier is still holding them, but you call up a single green orb and launch it forward, collapsing it and letting the vampire's army spill out. You grin as you dig your claws into his shoulders and leap forward.
You laugh maniacally, and you can even feel Headless's amusement at the situation as you attack. You've never actually used someone as a weapon to beat someone else to death - not as a club, at any rate. You've thrown people, but using someone as a club is just too funny! And since you don't need to worry about your improvised weapon coming apart on you, you don't need to hold back. Your amusement ends, however, when you feel two hands grasp your arm, and you look down to see the vampire craning his neck, trying to bring your arm into biting range. The world disappears in a scarlet haze.
You blink as you sag against a wall. You see twisted corpses littering the hall, and the mewling wreckage of the vampire tries to drag itself away from you with his one good arm - the other was reduced to shredded bone, and his legs and back are crisped and blackened. You sigh and pull out one of your dresses; after putting it on, you haul the vampire to the empty windows and toss him in the general direction of the soldiers. You stumble as you turn away, then take a long, steadying breath before inhaling deeply. You can smell it, just barely ... down. You turn - slowly, this time - and drop through the hole in the floor. You sniff again, and then turn and go deeper, toward the center of the building.
You find what you're looking for after only a few minutes - bodies are scattered around a cold room, and inside are packages of blood. You take one and rip it open, pouring the slurry down your throat. It helps a little - not much, but enough to keep you from killing the long-haired girl when she puts her hand on your shoulder. She leaps back at your glare, arms up, but you simply grab another package and devour it. You pick up a third, and as you open it you turn to take another look at the girl. Your eyes narrow - she has a large gauntlet on her left hand and strange boots that remind you of Nove's. You finish the third pack and walk past her; the cold blood was disgusting, and you really don't feel like talking to someone you don't know.
"Ah, Fla- Miss Scarlet ..." she begins, trailing off as you ignore her. She does follow you as you walk toward the windows, though. When you reach them, you quickly glance through them to make sure you're on the right side, then shatter one window with a quick jab. Just as she realizes what you did, you grab the girl and hop through the raining shards - then drop her to the ground. She twists as she falls, then pushes off the wall, and a glowing path erupts beneath her feet, spiraling down to the ground. You watch her until she reaches the ground and looks up at you, then you shrug and float down to the sergeant who brought you here. His pale face goes even whiter as you land, and he tries to push himself through the back door of the large car he's sitting against.
"I'm ready to go back," you tell him, and he jerkily nods but doesn't move. You close your eyes, resisting the urge to shake him until he agrees, and your fists clench as you breathe deeply. Someone clears his throat behind you, and you turn halfway, watching him from the corner of one slitted eye. To his credit, the pale-haired old man doesn't flinch.
"Ah, Miss Scarlet, the sergeant isn't feeling well right now, so he won't be able to drive you back. Sergeant Nakajima," he gestured at the girl, gauntlet and boots gone now, "had offered to drive you back to your office, if you have no objections." She nods to you, her face neutral, and you shrug. In close, if she tries anything, it'd have to be something that would kill her as well if she wanted to hurt you.
"Please, this way," she says coolly and heads toward a row of vehicles. You turn to follow her, then grab the sergeant and drag him with you. Everyone jumps at his yelp, but you ignore them and follow the girl, Nakajima. She opens the door to one car, turning to see if you need help, and backs up as you climb into the back seat, pulling the sergeant in after you. You meet her gaze, your dull red eyes boring into hers until she turns away and closes the door. The sergeant cowers on the floor, trying to pull as far away from you as possible.
Captain Balfour stares at the spell cards on the desk in front of him, then picks up the one for your Starbow Break. After looking closely at it for a moment, he sighs and sets it back down before running a hand through his black hair.
"And the Major agreed to this?" He looks at you and you shrug.
"What he actually said was that if I demonstrated the spell cards to him and he thought they were worthwhile, he'd let me have more blood. He didn't say anything about not letting me make them anyway. I'm not sure if they work perfectly, yet - I'd need someone to help me make sure - but they do work."
"And how do they work?" You sigh.
"You activate the spell card and run power through it, then it triggers and does whatever it's supposed to do." He gives you a look, and you shrug in response. "Oh, and I want to go talk to Nanoha sometime soon, okay?" He puts his head in his hands for a moment, then puts his hands in his lap and adopts a strained smile.
"Look, Miss Scarlet, it's not that simple!" You tilt your head and smile sweetly.
"Why?"
"Because there are rules and regulations regarding -"
"Why?"
"Because that's the -"
"Why?" Captain Balfour slams his fists into his desk, then stands up and draws his arm back - then he looks at your grinning face and he collapses back into his chair, face buried in his hands once more. You carefully gather up your spell cards and put them away. "Well, I guess I'll find her on my own, then, okay?" He feebly nods, and you walk out of his office, then leave the building, putting up your parasol to protect you from the noon-time sun. A cheerful smile splits your face - you're going to see Vita! Eventually, anyway ....
You rise into the air, trying to get enough altitude to see the ocean, and swat away several odd bugs. The higher you get, the more of them there seem to be - and the more agitated they seem. You frown at them. It looks like they want you to follow them.
What do you do?
[ ] Follow the bugs.
[ ] Keep looking for Nanoha and Vita.
