[X] Refuse the deal.
-[X] Thank him for the information he gave and leave.
You tilt your head and study the withered old mage. Even a fairy would recognize this as a bad deal to accept, why would such an apparently-experienced mage offer it? Your mind returns to your initial meeting with Tohsaka - she, too, made an obviously-bad-for-you offer … perhaps the offer isn't intended to be accepted? It's being offered so he can't be accused of refusing to cooperate, but he doesn't want to … and he is responsible for Rider's Master's condition. So he doesn't want to ruin his chance at … whatever it is he's after. If he were just after the Grail, something like this shouldn't be necessary. After mulling it over for several seconds, you shake your head. "No. I do not find this an acceptable deal." He sighs and puts the worm away, letting it squirm back into the sleeve of his kimono.
"And I suppose you aren't going to offer anything to make it more acceptable, hm? Bah." He chuckles good-naturedly and you look back at Ilya.
"Did you have anything else you wanted to ask, Ilya?" She gives you another of the odd looks she's been giving you all night and shakes her head. "Then I believe we have no further business here. Thank you, Matou, for the information you have shared with us." You incline your head politely and step back to put an arm around Ilya's waist. Tohsaka glares at the old mage and squeezes one of her gems, but doesn't resist when you grab her arm and carry the two mages up out of the pit. The old mage watches you, ancient face unreadable, and fades into the darkness around him. You set Ilya and Tohsaka down and follow Ilya out of the Matou residence, with Tohsaka coming after you. The younger mage coughs once you're on the street.
"Illyasviel, why'd he react like that when you called him Makiri?" Ilya looks back at her and sighs quietly.
"He was one of the three individuals who started the Holy Grail Wars, Rin. And I hold memories from the Einzbern representative, so I have some idea of what he wanted, how much he's changed." She falls silent and Tohsaka crosses her arms. "… Did you want to do anything else while we're here, or should we just go back to the castle?" Tohsaka sighs.
"I guess not. Not really anything to do except tell Emiya-kun about what's going on, but with Saber out of action and Rider sitting on him, it's probably for the better that we leave him out of the loop. If it weren't for Rider I'd say to go there and deal with him, but if we try anything Sakura will probably come down on our heads once Rider lets her know what's going on." You file that under 'sure-fire ways to get the attention of things you want to kill' and look around. There's not really that much you want to do … and even less that you can do. With no other option at the moment, you make your way to the edge of the city and make another boring flight to Ilya's castle. Sella and Satsuki meet you at the steps and Tohsaka heads inside, but Ilya holds you back. She studies your face carefully before stepping back, still looking worried.
"Are you alright, Flan?" You tilt your head, watching her, and she fidgets nervously. "I thought maybe I noticed something when we were at Shirou's, after you called Arcueid. But then you seemed more normal when we got here … and then the Shadow came, and you were hurt. You seemed like yourself when you woke up, but then after Rider came you were …." She trails off uncomfortably. You aren't sure whether you should be happy or irritated that she noticed the change in your attitude, your growing irritation with the situation; it's nice that she cares, but you should have kept it better-hidden. "Do you just need some rest?"
