Firebird, a Worm AU/Xover?

Thing is every cape has their weaknesses. It wouldn't matter if she was Superman, her father is still going to worry about her safety when dealing with people he knows to be killers. The most important thing to him is that she is safe and that to him means having the Wards at her back. It doesn't matter how powerful she is or what she says she can do he'll still want her to be safe.
Knowingly alienating her to the point she is considering running away is not conducive to ensuring her safety.

Hi Chibipoe, i want to ask is Taylor going to at anypoint bring some one back from the dead? It's a primary of the Phoenix so i wanted to ask if it would happen in the storyline.

While I appreciate your interest, you don't really think I'm going to answer a question like that? Well, okay, I guess I will.

Will Taylor bring someone back to life or not?

The answer is Or. But it could also be And. To is good as well.

You'll just have to wait and see.

the short answer is: The Host.

The long answer: its an eternal cosmic entity that creates and destroys in a never ending cycle of destruction and creation. The most you can ever really do is impede its avatars/hosts. and really only by managing to kill them for a time before they revive.

and from what I recall emotions weren't a weakness as much as the phoenix was addicted to them. Dark phoenix still fucked shit up with no fucks to give. in the cartoon version it took Jean (The Host at the time) regaining momentary control to end it.

oh and Chibipoe im still waiting for the scene where everyone finaly manages to comprehend just exactly what Taylor now is and goes and collectively shits their pants while going "Oh shit we fucked with that!" even if it never happens would make for a funny omake.

Scott Summers is neither a feature, nor a weakness of the Phoenix, as he does not exist here... though he has been mentioned. Weaknesses... at this stage... that's a good question. No one she has fought has really been the sort that would be much of a threat really. I suppose someone who was fast enough and could hit hard enough could take her out if they came out of left field. And before anyone says, 'But Precog!' It isn't an I win button and it doesn't do you any good to see someone's actions if you, physically, aren't fast enough to react to them. You flip you precog on and you see that, in 2 seconds, someone's going to bum rush you into unconsciousness... good luck with that. Taking her down is simply a matter of choosing your ground, really,

I doubt he knew what her reaction would be. He likely figured once he explained things she'd be more reasonable. I mean what he did was a dick move but he was trying to do the right thing. Taylor's reaction is hardly stellar as well.

Taylor is 15 years old. If she reacted well to this, after what Armsmaster did (which really should have given him an idea of how she'd react), I'd have been shocked.

He's not even doing a decent job of fixing things, given that he's still not really trying to get Taylor's perspective on things.

In his defense, she's not really trying to share her perspective either and being asked why she was so against the wards was a pretty good opening.

On the other hand, her precog said that nothing she told him would change his mind. Whether this meant that no reason she gave was good enough or if he just didn't care is unsaid because it never happened except in Taylor's "what if" moments.

Given that all she said when he asked was "I don't know I just don't want to." I don't see what he can do. He's not the mind reader here. It's not surprising that her reaction isn't making him try and gain insight.

Hey that's just being....what did Scott do that wasn't influenced by Wolverine fanboys?

On occasion? Kick serious ass. He solo'd Master Mold once upon a time, just him and the monster Sentinel in the middle of nowhere in Alaska.

As the years have passed, poor Scott and Jean have been turned into caricatures of what they were, much like Wolverine has really.

The problem here is again it could be said that "she already tried doing this in pre-cog but he didn't care". Of course maybe she didn't. Point is there's a heavy limit on talking about how much of her position she explained when we don't actually know how much of her position she's tried explaining.
Edit: of course considering how much we've been on about this (not even going to pretend I'm innocent) that may have been authorial intent.

Recons. Meh. However you spell it.

It already happened. Taylor used to have a forcefield over her body that blocked pretty much everything. And now she does not.

Recons are truly the bane of every comic book super hero.

He hasn't asked what her powers are, or their limits.
He hasn't tried to correct his ignorance about her bullying.
He hasn't asked what action she's seen so far.
He hasn't asked about anything beyond why she doesn't want to join the Wards.

Given that Taylor is showing frustration at his lack of consideration of her perspective, listening to her perspective on things that she does have something to concrete to give him seems like an obvious way to start fixing things. It also should help her figure out her own reasons, because explaining things to other people helps you understand them better yourself.
They recently blew up at each other because they didn't talk about things, and afterward they're... not talking about things.

I'm not saying that Taylor is blameless in the current issues. However, she's at an age where I don't expect her to be able to deal with these things properly. Danny is a middle-aged man whose career involves dealing with people and negotiations, so I do expect him to be able to deal with these things properly.

That would be a Devastating shard abilty for an Alt Taylor. Retcon abilities somebody make an omake about this.

He hasn't asked what her powers are, or their limits.
Because he knows it would go over his head.
He hasn't tried to correct his ignorance about her bullying.
Because when asked Taylor ignores him.
He hasn't asked what action she's seen so far.
Any non-zero answer would translate into "far too much" in his head.
He hasn't asked about anything beyond why she doesn't want to join the Wards.
Because that was the only relevant thing in that conversation.

Danny is a middle-aged man whose career involves dealing with people and negotiations, so I do expect him to be able to deal with these things properly.
What "things"? His daughter knowingly putting herself in danger? The fact his daughter now has superpowers? Or the part where the safest route for her is to join the Wards and she isn't about to do it on her own. I mean replace "powers" with "mental illness" and "Wards" with "therapy" and his position is a lot more reasonable. In his mind she needs help, she won't do it on her own and his only options are make her get the help she needs or risk her getting in greater danger. Was it a dick move on Danny's part? Yes, but a parent that would choose a good relationship with their child at a real risk of that child being killed is not a better parent then someone that would risk having a child that hates them, but does it in a safe environment.
